12 dead in shooting at Thousand Oaks bar
The gunman was dressed in black when he burst into the Borderline Bar & Grill, a country-music-themed venue that is popular with college students, around 11:20 p.m., according to Sheriff Geoff Dean.

Eleven victims and the shooter were found dead inside the bar by responding emergency personnel. It was not immediately clear if the shooter took his own life.

“It’s a horrific scene in there,” Dean said. “There’s blood everywhere.”

Witnesses reported a horrifying scene as gunfire echoed through the club and those inside ran for cover, in some cases using chairs to break windows to escape the building. Others hid in bathrooms and an attic as they frantically called loved ones who were hearing reports of the shooting. ...

Once we tighten up our gun control laws, every criminal will report to the nearest police station and turn in all of his firearms and ammunition—just as abortions will cease the moment we enact universal healthcare.

An ex-marine, who served 5yrs, I believe, as a machine gunnery Sargeant, I believe, and was highly decorated, serving in Afganistan. The talk immediately went to PTSD. Ok...maybe, and probably, but not as a way out for this crime. I dont know how those with PTSD suffer internally, especially those who return after the ravages of war, and having to deal with things seen, done, and trying to figure out how to become a normal citizen again with a normal job, etc.
The thing I can't accept or process is that PTSD will cause an otherwise mentally healthy human being to commit mass murder for some sort of satisfaction and relief. No, seems to me that PTSD is often used to let a hate-filled, angry, and wicked person off the hook for their crime. Untold numbers of our soldiers return with PTSD, and they are not running around commiting senseless mass murder. Killing theirself is one thing, but taking as many innocents with them as they can...that's just someone who was deeply troubled to begin with.

On the radio,a mother of a victim kept repeating "I don't want your prayers,I want gun control". Seems strange that she's making political statements so soon.

One day, the strong, alpha type male will be someone that will stand out and look odd to the masses. Dads will comment, "That's what they used to look like. Poor fella, all caught up in his chauvinism and male pride."
Yep...it's a sad state of affairs for sure.
Very good comment, thanks! Yes, men are and will be trying to be relevant in ways not designed by God.

The mob attack, masquerading as a “protest,” on Tucker Carlson’s home should also be treated as terrorism.

There were off duty police officers at that bar. But, I’m afraid that the gun laws in California will not allow an off duty officer to enter s bar after shift , and law abiders , abide by the law. But, the criminal element, who used an illegal extension clip on his Glock , are there to kill people. If you want to make a difference, treat mass shootings as terrorism. And then, suspecting people might not walk to kill another day.

Thanks for your comment and I agree. If we compare men or anything else for that matter with its counterpart in the 1800s, nothing is the same.
I always say that we have allowed culture to define scripture instead of scripture defining culture.

Easy for me to say for sure. But, the article notes the gunman stopped to reload and several people escaped when he did that.
Now if just 2 or 3 men would have rushed him when he stopped to do this; then in all probability the killing would have stopped.
What a sick world we live in!
Right on!
The days of bravery, and "laying down your life" is over. People only care about their own little selves and could give a bowl o oppossum for any one else.
And I'm not just talking about Christians...
Put this guy in the 1830s , and no women would have been hit, and he wouldn't have got nearly as far as he did. MEN we're willing to lay down their lives for strangers simply because they had honor and respect for other people.
But those days are gone. Its a "every man for himself" age. One where you are the only one who matters in life.
