'Gosnell' Filmmakers: Theaters Dropping Movie, Preventing People From Buying Tickets

On Friday, the film's domestic gross hit $2,000,000, but that was not enough to stop nearly 200 theaters from dropping the film.

"I can tell you from my experience in 15 years of releasing movies independently, we're in uncharted territories," John Sullivan, the film's producer and marketing director, told the Daily Wire.

"It is an impacted fall, no doubt about it, but the fact that we've been dropped from theaters where the movie is the number 6 or number 9 movie is just something you don't see," he added.

"It's hard not to believe it isn't about the content of the movie." ...

My guess is many folks got the same kind of treatment. Shame on them! The secular segment of our society that can exercise influence is simply growing worse and worse.

N’t sure where the young lady stands on in the importance of a personal relationship with Christ, as Christ isn’t a way of many other ways; Jhn 14:6!

The young lady said the movie made her see that her, Pro-Choice stance, she had was wrong.

As she twitted that out to her 50,000, followers.

You keep the Old testament sabbath? Then what do you do with verse such as:
"Ye shall kindle no fire through your habitations upon the Sabbath day" (Ex. 35:3).

If Christians were to keep the law, they would have to live in warm climates.

Or like I mentioned the year of Jubillee,
the seventh year? (Lev. 25:1-22)

"If you want to follow the whole law, you have to keep the sabbath"

Um...

I do keep the Sabbath...???

The Lord doesn't just get rid of His rules for life because He feels like.

He is not fickle...

He doesn't change...

And He COMMANDS us to obey his laws...

You don't get a "free to sin pass" because your born in the years after 1 AD...

So I believe the 10 commandments have a context, and that context is not a church context, but of Israel."

So you don't believe in that the ten commandments are applicable today?

You don't believe that the Old Testament is l required to be obeyed (minus the sacrificial stuff obviously)?

You don't believe that Christians have to follow the moral rules the New testaments laws are based on?

If don't believe the Old Testament has to be obeyed, your a pretty confused critter...🤯🤯🤯

Reaponse to Mississippi guy:

At the beginning of the Jesus Film it clearly says that no actor is worthy of playing the role of Jesus.

And I'm not Jewish, and if you want to follow the whole law, you have to keep the sabbath (and everything that goes with it, like the year of jubilee, and not making a fire). Go ahead, but you won't get far.

Circumcision was also very important, yet it's not now.

The other commandments like 10, mention servants, which could mean slaves.

Commandment #5 talks about the land that lord will give you, what does that mean for Christians today? Literally I don't think it does for us. Spiritually we have mansions in heaven.

So I believe the 10 commandments have a context, and that context is not a church context, but of Israel.

I saw gosnell opening weekend. I wanted to see before it disappeared. The movie was really well made. The ada was fantastic. She had to deal with this horrific thing knowing that she 4 or 5 children herself. It was heart breaking. And the emotional toll the people went through. But not gosnell he was smirky and hard hearted. The film angered my husband and 16 year old son. I do recommend go see this film.

"I'm often annoyed that Christians people have watched some worldly movies, but have never seen the Jesus Film."

Thanks reminded me of a point I would like to ask (referring to the Jesus Film)...

When the Ten Commandments say "you shall not make a graven image" do y'all think it is ALSO referring to pictures of Jesus. I mean the Jews were not allowed to make any images of God because of this law...

Do you think graven images could also be movie actors as Jesus, kids books, and pictures of Jesus?

These are the actions of a cult.
I show Christian movies to my students (that is a precious blessing that I can even do that!) movies such as Fireproof, and Do You Believe. I really believe Fireproof with Kirk Cameron is Oscar worthy. I'm often annoyed that Christians people have watched some worldly movies, but have never seen the Jesus Film. And if they are interested in religious films, they prefer the violence of the movie passion of christ.

Good comment Tim and I don’t disagree with anything you said.

You do realize that most people who post here have no idea what a drive-in is! They are about as archaic as phone booths and phones that use switch boards and rotary dial.

It is amazing how much the cultures of the world have changed.

Quiet Christian,

Very good comment; thanks!

Here is what happened to me. My wife and I made plans to see the movie and it was sort of an outing for us. The theater wasn’t real near us and the show times made it such that we had to go near there for dinner. Anyway, they had advertised on the internet a showing time of 7:30. We got there and they said the last showing was at 4 and the 7:30 had been cancelled. She didn’t have a pleasant look on her face either.

My guess is many folks got the same kind of treatment. Shame on them! The secular segment of our society that can exercise influence is simply growing worse and worse.

Come quickly Lord Jesus, come quickly.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness, and unrighteousness of men, which withhold the truth in unrighteousness. - Romans 1:18

Note that phrase -- "which withhold the truth in unrighteousness."

It is one thing to merely disavow the truth and declare truth to be untruth and go on one's way. It is another to actively withhold the truth and prevent it from being told.

The entertainment industry has been against the Lord, His people, and His precepts for living for many decades. They are major spreaders and teachers of decadence throughout the world, forwarding their idols of sex and the sensual woman. Failing to forward their messages is deemed "censorship" and condemned immediately by the world. Of course they are against this inconvenient truth and seek to withhold it. They feel they are the makers of truth. They will some day stand before the Real Creator of all things, incl truth. Without genuine faith in Jesus Christ evidenced by repentance unto life, they are doomed...and us with them if we lack those as well.
