Myanmar: Christians Forced to Sign Papers Vowing Not to Pray in Church
Hundreds of minority Christians in Myanmar are being forced to sign papers vowing to limit their faith and not pray in churches, pastors have warned.

A church leader identified as the Rev. Lazarus, general secretary of the Lahu Baptist Convention in Kyaing Tong, eastern Shan State, told UCA News on Wednesday that close to 100 Wa Christians were released by the United Wa State Army after they agreed to the orders.

Christians who signed the pledges are now mandated to only pray privately in their homes and not in churches. ...

This is easy for someone who lives outside of harsh political persecution to say, but none-the-less it should be said.

No one has ever had the right to limit the amount and type of worship that scripture mandates for Christians. When Christians agree to these limitations, then they are in effect saying that their sovereign God is impotent and cannot overcome the hardships they face. If the article is correct, then the 100 who agreed to the limitation in prayer effectively said they were not true believers. If someone desires to save their lives at the expense of the gospel, then they are actually losing them!

Matthew 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Death to a believer is actually entering into eternal life with our blessed Savior.

Matthew 10:28 - And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

2 Corinthians 5:8 - We are confident, [I say], and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

I will pray for this group.

If they pray in God's will, it matters nothing where they pray, God will still answer and give them what they ask for. God be praised.
