Chinese Officials Shut Down Church, Members Take the Gospel to the Streets
Members of a house church in China recently took the gospel to the streets after the government shut down their unregistered church, video footage reveals.
A video shared on Sunday by Christopher Gregory of the organization China Missions shows Christians gathering in the public park to sing, preach and pray. Sometimes they walk the sidewalks, playing musical instruments and happily singing praises to God, such as “Nothing But the Blood of Jesus,” and sometimes they gather around to hear the preaching of the word.
Some clips show a church leader holding his Bible in one hand and a microphone in the other, as another man holds a speaker above his head for amplification. Other clips show members praying aloud in the park, sometimes stationary, and sometimes as they walk along in the open air....
Dr Tim Wrote: "Don, I can't believe you said that. There are no people like me. Thank God."
Ditto to that. Your appearance and stench are uniquely yours, and yours alone. The one thing that's just as disturbing though, is that you have an air of arrogance about you, even as swarms of flys buzz around you, and your clan keeps mistaking you for one of their mangy, wonkey-eyed goats with teeth that stick out even when it's mouth is shut. Might wanna check that pride there, buddy.
Sounds like the govt is helping to complete the Great Commission--go out and make disciples. Not to find comfortables pews, choirs singing music you like, air conditioning and heating, stained glass windows, and people like you.
May the Lord grant increase and the Spirit's guidance to them.
1Cor 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For the body is not one member, but many."
Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: 29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit."
Stop buying bibles made in China 🇨🇳. That doesn’t leave you much but there are excellent bibles from Kirkbride publishers, local church bible publishers, church bible publishers, and across the pond there is the trinitarian publishers, or if your bank account can afford an Allen bible ( but why make it an idol), then try there. Some are made in the Netherlands, South Korea, but a majority are now made in China.
Rather puts us to shame. Here in Britain, and also in USA, there is beginning to be some very minor persecution, street preachers being arrested, Christians being sacked at work for saying “politically incorrect” things, and people being denied their degree because they have biblical views on marriage or homosexuality, but this is small and minor up to the harassment that these Chinese Christians have to endure.
The Communists never learn. The previous Maoist purge in the “Cultural Revolution” in the 1960’s and 1970’s didn’t destroy the church, 70 years of Soviet Communism, and some 40 years of hardline atheistic Stalinist Communism in Albania did not destroy the church, and over 70 years of the Kim Family’s dynastic Communist terror dictatorship in North Korea will not destroy the church.
If Xi Jinping thinks he will be any more successful in destroying the church, he is greatly mistaken.
Yet here in the West, churches that call themselves evangelical are buckling to the pressures of political correctness, LGBTQ activism, and fear of offending Islam. Those churches will wither and die but the true church of the Lord Jesus Christ will never die! Hallelujah!
