Call to end religious public broadcasting in Belgium after 'woman-unfriendly' Bible reading
An onscreen Bible reading which demanded women be submissive to their husbands has sparked calls to end religious broadcasting on public television in Belgium.

The New Testament reading, from Ephesians 5.22 - 33, was broadcast on radio and Flemish TV station VRT from a Catholic mass in the town of Grimbergen.

A lay reader said, “Women, be submissive to your husband as the husband to the Lord. For the man is the head of the woman as Christ is the head of the church.”

Sven Gatz, the media minister for the Dutch-speaking Belgian region of Flanders who represents the Flemish liberal party, tweeted: “No outdated, woman-unfriendly statements … please. What if, for example, an imam would have said this?” ...

That is what the bible clearly says
We either accept it or reject it.
If we reject it we do so at our peril.
If we reject one part of the bible we reject all of it
If we are honest with ourselves

""the media minister for the Dutch-speaking Belgian region of Flanders who represents the Flemish liberal party, tweeted: “No outdated, woman-unfriendly statements … please.""

Wonder what a 'Liberal' was doing listening to "outdated" religious programmes?

Perhaps she was looking for violations to the politically correct law of modern society.

The reprobate and the 'religious' reprobate cannot read or comprehend the Word of God. But this reveals the way which the wicked can be judged by the Bible.

Romans chapter one from verse eighteen on would start a war with the Liberals if it were read. Sodom and Gomorrah -[part of the EU]- would have been up in arms.

Jude :10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves."

They would rather believe a lie than the truth, as man was created first, and woman after the name of man.

Yes, John you are right. I have heard the Anglican Evensong services on BBC Radio 3, (basically the cultural and classical music national radio station), some time ago.

Amen Chris. I shudder to think how many Anglicans have attended evensong a grand multitude of times, and never ever understood what the words in the Book of Common Prayer were all about. They followed the ritual, kneeling for the confession of sins and hearing the pronouncement of forgiveness for all who truly repent, reciting the apostle's creed without believing any of it, hearing of Jesus Christ but never realising he is currently King of all, alive and well and the eternal God who was made manifest in the flesh, etc. etc.

However, for those Anglicans who were born again, it would have great significance, and they would follow those psalms in the BCP with spiritual joy in their hearts, as they heard them sung in - as you say - the distinctive Anglican chant.

Why would they want to have that sign removed? The Muslim invaders believe almost the same thing, only they don't love their wife/wives like the Bible teaches.

They either believe the Bible, or eventually they'll HAVE to obey Sharia Law, then, obeying their husband (if they have one) WILL be mandatory.

Chris, you are forgetting the state church Choral Evensong on BBC Radio 3 every Wednesday afternoon at 3.30pm, which is repeated on same channel on Sundays at 3.00pm. It is generally Book of Common Prayer liturgy for evensong, with the renowned Anglican singing of psalms.

Well, if a Bible reading from a modern translation (no doubt) from a Catholic mass can cause offence, a Protestant Church, particularly an evangelical one doesn’t stand a chance.

Belgium as the hq country of the EU, has espoused all the vices of its nominally Protestant neighbour, the Netherlands, with “gay marriage”, abortion, (the then king refused to sign the law and had to technically abdicate for one day, so that it could be passed), and then euthanasia, including for children.

Is it any wonder they do not like the Word of God being read? Here in Britain, there are no religious services on either BBC TV or on the commercial ITV, except at Christmas, Easter and special national occasions, though there is Songs of Praise on Sunday evenings on BBC 1 tv, and BBC Radio 4 has a morning service on Sundays, with a daily service shunted on to the rarely used Long Wave branch of BBC Radio 4.

No, we mustn't let God be in charge. He might say something that is politically incorrect.
