New Survey Explores Why People Don’t Attend Church

The Aug. 1 Pew Research Center survey found that among adults who seldom or never attend services, 37 percent do so because they say they practice their faith “in other ways.”

The other reasons are varied:

28 percent – “I am not a believer.”

23 percent – “I haven’t found a church or other house of worship I like.” ...

The reason why individuals refuse to attend worship services is because they are under heavy demonic influence of the demons.

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him ( 2 Cor. 5:18-21).
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen (MT 28:19, 20).

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek (ROM 1:16).

A careful reading of the story shows although It begins by citing a 2014 poll it then states that a NEW survey finds ...and then goes on to expound those findings from the new survey not the one done in 2014

I conducted a scientific survey of two people and found out why they don't go to church.
They don't want to.

Today's news has an article about a survey that the investing company Schwab did about what people consider to be wealthy.
The survey was done in 2018, this year.
So I wonder of the worth of this story, besides being what is called in the internet today, 'click bait.'
Another aspect is that the author is free-lance, meaning no major news agency sponsored it. It would be like having some guy in his pajamas, living in his parents' basement, finding this 2014 survey and writing the story.

Yup!

Trump owns Jim and he doesn't even know it. I suppose that's one reason Jesus said to love your enemies because hatred consumes.

Neil you might want to rethink your position

No one asked Peter a question until his sermon ended in Acts 2. Paul managed to preach all night without a question and answer period. No one interrupted our Lord with questions during the Sermon on the amount and when instructing Timothy to preach the Word, Paul did not include an admonition to include a time for questions from the congregation

Great advice.
Reminds me of the verse from the Old Testament that says, cursed be he who puts his trust in man.
I wonder if politics might have something to do with this story. In 2014, under the Obama Regime, you could say that old fashioned religion was on the run, with all his support of sodomites and other nonChristian causes.
With President Donald Trump, we see a repudiation of this and an endorsement of traditional US values. Maybe this will bring people back to churches?
I know it won't help them read the music in hymnals, and their taste for pipe organ music has probably not changed much either. And then, sitting with a group of people, all facing forward, listening to one guy go on and on and on, without being able to look at your smartphone or talk on the phone, might be too much for many to handle. Maybe once a month they might do that, but otherwise, they are too busy.
And the secular society has made it harder by offering sports leagues and other activities on Sundays. Few restaurants are closed on Sundays, so many are taking jobs there to supplement their incomes so they can go on Caribbean cruises and overseas vacations.

No!

As always, Trust in God.

1Tim 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;"

2John 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds."

Is 2014 new? The article says the survey is from 2014. How can that be new? We are in August 2018, so at least 4 years have gone by. Even the US President has changed, not that politics has anything to do with this story!

In these apostate times.....
Because:-
2Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of."

Many churches indeed denominations have gone over to the satanic religion of Liberalism.

In decades gone by some Christians attended Anglican/Episcopalian churches. Some attended presbyterian churches such as the Church of Scotland - But these churches have succumbed to the worldly religion of Liberalism.

Satanic Liberalism is spreading like a disease amongst people who call themselves christian - But do not accept the Word of God.

2Cor 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works."

Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable..."

No, Jim. The problem is Trump controls your every thought and there isn't anything you can do about it. That is Trump Derangement Syndrome and you've been reeled in. I'd say that makes him pretty effective at whatever he sets his mind to do.

Actually that quote, which is practically a truism, has nothing to do with my point: I am referring to lyrics, not the score and whatever intangible, subjective effects it may have.

It amazes me that preachers pretend to know what worshipful music sounds like when we have not one measure worth of divinely-inspired music in Scripture. Or was Bach a musical prophet? Some seem to think so.

You and John MacArthur should have a lot to agree about on music, Neil.
John MacArthur wrote:
...music is not just associated with the need for comfort, rest, tranquility, peace, sleep. It’s associated with every other part of life. Music can be high, and noble, and exalted. It can be elevating. It can be uplifting. It can raise that which is honorable and pure. Or, music can be low, degrading, debasing, even ugly. It can literally tamper with all the ranges of human experience and emotion. But one thing is for sure: music rides the back of the culture in whatever direction it is going.

Tim, the way the supporters of ]]https://tinyurl.com/y8dlyync (The First White President) present the gospel, they're going to have to grow their own followers just like the Amish do. since Trumpianism is as anti-Christian as you can get ! Christianity is not an in-house religion though.

No, Lurker, the problem is the followers of trump. Of course there's other problems as well.

Thanks, Neil, for pointing that out.
I was jesting when I mentioned all those details, because for many people, that is what 'going to church' is all about.
Understood. Indeed, the NT church was, I fear, simply too radical to be taken seriously as a model for church practice, whether a millennium ago or now. You're right to bring up sermons; imagine, that folks dared to ask our Lord Jesus questions, but one can't do that with modern pastors except privately, despite 1 Cor. 14.

Jim, when 999,999 people out of every million are in favor of abortion and queer marriage, God and I will still be against them.
Good comments, Don. The taste for traditional services hasn't disappeared altogether. Pastors with guts, zeal and doctrinal soundness still have them, and people still flock to them.
