Missouri governor signs law banning marriage of 15-year-olds
Missouri — long the easiest state in the nation for 15-year-olds to wed — has outlawed the practice.
Gov. Mike Parson on Friday signed into law Senate Bill 655. Before, Missouri was one of 25 states with no minimum marriage age. And Missouri was the only state that allowed children age 15 to marry with only one parent’s approval, even if the other parent objected. Children younger than 15 needed a judge’s approval.
“The welfare of our children must always be a top priority,” Parson said in a statement Friday....

I was not able to get a ride to the library until today. I have no problem with a 15 year old girl marrying a much older man who can take care of her as long as she remains in school and graduates from high school and gets a college degree in Nursing even though she would be a wife.
it's good to see that some Republicans / evangelicals are beginning to draw the lines in some places. the molestation of young girls is beginning to get enough people riled up in that they will pass laws like this oneâť—

The religious right’s wholesale embrace of the Republican party and of Donald J Trump, both as candidate and as president, has necessitated a rewriting of evangelical ethics. Here’s a summary, with annotations.
•Lying is all right as long as it serves a higher purpose ... •It’s no problem to be married more than, well, twice ... •Immigrants are scum ... •Vulgarity is a sign of strength and resolve ... •White lives matter (much more than others) ... •There’s no harm in spending time with porn stars ... •It’s all right for adults to date children ... •The ends justify the means ...

Most of our youth marry between the ages of 18-22. Our divorce rate is close to zero. Marrying young is not a problem for us. The young men have learned how to work and support a family and the young women have learned how to cook, sew, take care of her children and be a supporter of her husband.

I think they should have set the age at 25, since scientists tell us the human brain doesn't mature until then, and the last part to mature is the one that makes decisions. Statistics also show that many marriages to those under 25 have a high rate of failing.
