I’m sure everyone enjoys an old man’s stories.
Up front, let me say that I was not a combat soldier in VN. But, in VN I did come into contact with those who served in the field.
I remember talking with this infantry soldier and he said that all of the point men he knew smoked marijuana. They claimed it took away their fear, but still allowed them to function well and remain alert. As most know, a point man was someone who was in front of his unit, so he would be the first one to get it.
I smoked it twice over 40 years ago now before I was saved. I am one that shies away from something that I can become addicted to. Oh and I was not alert and didn’t function well.
The only person I have ever heard about that admitted to smoking marijuana and not inhaling it was Bill Clinton.
