Conservatives win big at Supreme Court

In just the past two weeks, the court has sided with anti-abortion advocates, a Christian baker who objects to same-sex marriage, and the Trump administration’s travel ban. But it has also left itself some flexibility to change its mind in the future.

This is why Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell held the court's vacant seat open for more than a year, so that Trump could fill it instead of President Obama. It worked.

Between the lines: In the most important cases of its current term, which ends tomorrow, the court has either sided with conservatives directly or handed them temporary wins by punting. ...

Great. Anybody who is a conservative should be a Republican because the Republican Party is the conservative political party and the party of Jesus.

Trump's America wrote:
Key points:

• Justice Kennedy's decision was motivated by his decision to spend more time with his family
• He is a traditional conservative who sometimes joined the liberal justices on key rulings, earning a reputation as the court's "swing" vote
• Mr Trump said he would begin a search immediately for a new justice, with a list of 25 candidates

The Supreme Court is going to get mighty boring.

You mean the GOP?

I am very happy with these decisions.
I am very happy with the retirement of Justice Kennedy. I look forward to seeing a conservative justice replace him.

If there ever was a case to say that 'elections have consequences' then this is it. There is a difference between Democrats and Republicans and this is a key one.
Another is the way Dems have decided to show their opposition to anyone who disagrees with them. There is no debate, no calm and reasonable interchange of ideas. Instead, you have people 'behaving badly' (to say the least). They really need to wear Brown Shirts to show how similar they are to the folks who supported the National Socialist Party in Germany in the 1930s, and the Fascists in Italy with Mussolini.

It will be interesting to see what Shields and Brooks will have to say about this, on the PBS NewsHour this Friday.

Eschatology="The doctrine of the last or final things, as death, judgment, and the events therewith connected."

Soteriology="2. (Theol.) The doctrine of salvation by Jesus Christ."

]]The Christian Right Movement is a disaster for the mission of Christians! ' "The Reconstructionist movement and its allies and offshoots, by substituting political and cultural action for the proclamation of the Gospel, by substituting eschatology for soteriology, and by mangling the Gospel itself, have become tools of Romanist political action" (3/02, The Trinity Review).' excerpt from, ]]Notes on Reconstructionism. Truth is still lying dead in the street & justice still stands afar off. A tiny portion of the injustice in the US was addressed by the Supreme Court, and Lord be praised for His mercy in these decisions. But there is so much more to do and so much left undone.
