Supreme Court Gives Huge Victory to Baker

They can have their cake and eat it, too — just not if it’s decorated for a so-called “same-sex wedding.” That’s the upshot of a 7-2 Supreme Court ruling today in favor of Jack Phillips (shown), a Colorado baker persecuted by his state after refusing to craft such a cake for a pair of homosexuals.

Liberal justices Elena Kagan and Stephen Breyer and “swing vote” justice Anthony Kennedy joined the court’s four conservatives in siding with Phillips in the case, Masterpiece Cakeshop Ltd. v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission. The SCOTUS found that the commission showed a hostility toward faith and violated Phillips’ “First Amendment rights to free exercise of religion since the regulations were not applied neutrally,” as Christianity Today relates it.

That’s putting it mildly. After all, around the time of Phillips’ woes, Colorado officials had actually “protected several bakers who were charged with ...

If justice is theoretically blind then why is it that liberal judges vote differently than conservative judges 99 percent of the time.

Also political liberals support what is referred to as liberal causes and conservatives support those things that are deemed conservative.

My opinion is justice is not blind, but supports individual ideologues.

And politicians only want to get re-elected.

Guest 1, I refer to the FOX news channel as the catholic channel and the conservative "FEMINIST" channel.

Fox News is just as much of a useless source for news as cnn, nbc, msnbc, abc, cbs and all the other establishment news. All garbage. They spoon feed us less than half truths. There are plenty of other places to Get real news from

I just used a story from Trump's favorite new service, Fox News, UPS. It seemed to been accurate and I'm sorry that upset you.

It appears to be a freedom of religion case 👍 and has little or nothing to do, or can be said to have nothing to do with LGBT factors at all.

Apparently a case that will be looked at by the Supreme Court later this month may have more to do with queer freedom.

Had it gone the other way, Chuck Hickey and the rest of the liberals would be saying this us HUGE. They would be sending people to Christian-owned establishments and trying to get them shut down ASAP. But the court didn’t rule in their favor, so it’s nothing to see hear, keep moving, no big deal. Thanks Jim for bringing the pro-LBGT perspective on this to a Christian forum

It's less than meets the eye❗

Chuck Hickey wrote:
....But the court is not deciding the big issue in the case, whether a business can invoke religious objections to refuse service to gay and lesbian people.

The justices' limited ruling turned on what the court described as anti-religious bias on the Colorado Civil Rights Commission when it ruled against baker Jack Phillips....
