Only Slim Majority of Americans Believe in God of Bible, Numbers Decline Among Gen X, Millennials

Although some 80 percent of Americans say they believe in God, only a slim majority of the nation's approximately 327 million people believe in God as described in the Bible, according to results of a new study released by the Pew Research Center. And among those younger than 50, belief in the God of the Bible drops lower than 50 percent.

The findings from the survey of more than 4,700 adults conducted nationwide between Dec. 4–18, 2017, reveal that one-third of Americans say they do not believe in the God of the Bible, but believe there is some other higher power or spiritual force in the universe. Applying these results to the general population, that translates to approximately 109 million people who believe in a higher power that is not the God of the Bible. ...

"Beware of allowing yourself to mingle anything of your own with Christ.

Have you faith? It is a priceless blessing. Happy indeed are they who are willing and ready to trust Jesus. But take heed you do not make a Christ of your faith. Rest not on your own faith, but on Christ.

Is the work of the Spirit in your soul? Thank God for it. It is a work that shall never over thrown. But oh, beware, lest, unawares to yourself, you make a Christ of the work of the Spirit! Rest not on the work of the Spirit, but on Christ.

Have you any inward feelings of religion, and experience of grace? Thank God for it. Thousands have no more religious feeling than a cat or log. But oh, beware lest you make a Christ of your feelings and sensations! They are poor, uncertain things, and sadly dependent on our bodies and outward circumstances. Rest not a grain of weight on your feelings. Rest only on Christ.

Learn, I entreat you, to look more and more at the great object of faith, Jesus Christ, and to keep your mind dwelling on Him. So doing you would find faith, and all the other graces grow, though the growth at the time might be imperceptible to yourself. He that would prove a skilful archer, must look not at the arrow, but at the mark."

I just heard on the radio they are removing clocks off the walls of schools because it is claimed the children cannot read time off a clock anymore. The degeneration of the American mind is beyond comprehension. The Antichrist and pagan video games, mtv, youtube, schooling will make sure no one even knows what the Bible is, or if they do label it as a book of hate speech never to be opened or to be called a racist/redneck in punishment.
Can this be verified? My goodness. What's next? We are truly entering another dark ages. God help us.

I didn't read the article.

Well, it sounds to me like mankind is right on schedule.

Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

The above was a rhetorical question.

Revelation 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

Notice all kindreds and tongues and all nations.

Come quickly Lord Jesus, come quickly.

I don't believe this, personally, and put little stock into these types of surveys. 4700 surveyed, out of like 325M? I can't put any sort of number on it, but I'd say that many more believe, but that's as far as they go with it, and that belief doesn't translate in any sort of action on their part.

The book of Judges records......

Judges 2:10 And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, WHICH KNEW NOT THE LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.
11 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim:
12 And they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the LORD to anger.
13 And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth."

So its not unusual for a generation to be born who don't know the Lord. I guess that's where we are today.

I'm not really interested in what unbelievers don't believe. The world does not run on statistics, but on the sovereignty of God.

Under any other government, he wrote, “their treasons would have been punished by the halter,” that is by execution. Hartford, to Jefferson, illustrated the New Englanders’ “religious and political tyranny.” He compared them to prostitutes, “bawds,” who found in religion “a refuge from the despair of their loathsome vices.” ...

The history of religion and the American national founding does not offer simple support to either today’s Christian nationalists or the liberal secularists, who also tend to claim some kind of consensus existed among the Revolutionary generation. It’s impossible not to notice that much has been lost from the Connecticut Wits’ 18th-century Christian nationalism. They thought deeply about Christianity, governance and the broad social responsibilities of a truly Christian state. If the deists were preoccupied with freedom, the Christian nationalists were as preoccupied with how society must facilitate grace....
