Amen, any Church through the pastor or pastors, that don’t preach & teach a holy God, in to whom we are ever so dependent on Him. That their is no other refugee & shelter other than Christ Alone, for their is no King but Christ Alone amen!
Mike Gendron; Born again Christians who are in apostate churches must leave & find a church where they can worship God in Spirit & Truth.
Thanks NeedHim. I watched the video clip, and there was no place for that in a house of worship. What caught my eye was a comment he made about people who attend smaller churches being lazy because they basically can't afford the experiences for their children that North Point can. Hmmm.
Just as long as those fresh approaches don't involve some sort of compromise to get people through the door, and keep them there. Compromise also includes leaving certain areas of doctrine open to interpretation, so as not to offend, etc. I dont know anything about NorthPoint, although I do have one down the road from me that meets in a theatre, I think, on Sundays, but the megachurches are fine examples.

John Blake wrote: ...Andy says his father was delighted. He started joking that the Stanleys would become a preaching dynasty. And both men began to share an "unspoken dream": that Andy would take the helm after his father's retirement. In Touch was no longer just a ministry; it was Andy's inheritance....
"I was the heir apparent," Andy says. "I know that he desired it."
Something, however, would drive father and son apart.... .... Charles did something else that some pastors shy from: He sought professional help. He asked his son to join him in seeing a counselor.
It was just another way in which Charles refused to fit the caricature of a simple "Bible thumper." He had defied Southern Baptist theology by saying women should be able to preach. He installed 12 Step programs in his church and an orchestra...

Read this entire CNN article, you will see that Bill Hybels is a big hero of Andy Stanley.
All three men fall under the category:đź‘Ž
2 Corinthians 2:17 For we are not as so many, peddling the word of God. But as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God, we speak in Christ.
Andy Stanely has said some wild stuff for a while, I think he said that the incarnation wasn't centeral to the gospel, James White did a couple programs on him, I'm sure if you'd put 'Andy Stanley' into the sermon search, you'll find a couple.
One has Zero Peace with the Son, If one doesn’t have unity with the Father. For their is no reconciliation outside of the Godhead, drawing & dragging one, out of ones spiritual pit of hostility & rebellion against ones only true creator amen!
RC Sproul; In Rom 3, Paul makes abundantly clear that unconverted people don’t seek after God. To the naked eye it may seem that unbelievers are searching for God or seeking for the kingdom of God, while they are in fact fleeing from God with all of their might. People who are unconverted seek the “benefits” that only God can give them, such as ultimate meaning & purpose in their lives, relief from guilt, the presence of joy & happiness, & things of this nature. These are benefits the Christian recognizes can only come through a vital, saving relationship with Christ.
Jesus spoke about unity but spoke about division as well. Sometimes one can't help but divide when speaking the truth. Just look at this site. We must focus on sound doctrine or the devil will end up running rough-shod all over the church. We see this in the body today. Whether we see the enemy's influence in the bride or the mainstream church, he is still making inroads...thus the great falling away is in full swing.
Sound Doctrine is good for the soul, to grow healthy & get regular checkups. As the Word is clear, one doesn’t live off bread alone. George Whitefield; If we once get above our Bibles & cease making the written Word of God our sole rule as to faith & practice, we shall too lie open to all manner of delusion & be in great danger of making shipwreck of faith & a good conscience.”
Kevin DeYoung; Submission to the Scriptures is submission to God. Rebellion against the Scriptures is rebellion against God.”
Some Worthwhile reading & checking out the videos, that gives one good & accurate information of the mindset of people like Andy Stanley & others. Who promote the Church Growth moment., aka- Seeker Friendly. In true reality many with in these movements hate, Christ. As Christ is the only True sufficient seeker of the fallen alone, sinners need n’t self-righteousness, but imputed Righeousness of Christ Alone amen.
LK 6:26 Woe to you when all men speak well of you, For so did their fathers to the false prophets.
"Sound doctrine and holy living are the marks of true prophets. Let us remember this. [A] minister's mistakes will not excuse our own." - J. C. Ryle
"Nothing makes a man so virtuous as belief of the truth. A lying doctrine will soon beget a lying practice. A man cannot have an erroneous belief without by-and-by having an erroneous life. I believe the one thing naturally begets the other." - Charles Spurgeon
"The foundation of true holiness and true Christian worship is the doctrine of the gospel, what we are to believe. So when Christian doctrine is neglected, forsaken, or corrupted, true holiness and worship will also be neglected, forsaken, and corrupted." - John Owen
"I love the pure doctrine of unadulterated Calvinism. But if that be wrong - if there be anything in it which is false - I for one say, "Let that perish too, and let Christ's name last forever. Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! Crown Him Lord of all!" - Charles Spurgeon
“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”- Matthew 24:24.
So apostate churches are acceptable??? Why not ditch the Bible altogether?? This is the typical ignorance of the Liberals, putting human ideology above the authority of God in Scripture. Satan must be very happy with Andy Stanley's performance and his religion.
2Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; BY REASON of whom THE WAY OF TRUTH shall be evil spoken of."
Youth in Asia wrote: Andy Stanley used to make great sermons, powerful even. Sad to see a preacher like that go sour.
I used to attend church at First Baptist Church Atlanta when Andy would preach and his messages seemed more in line with scripture than they do now. He also didn't dress like a pop guru. Then he left for Northpoint and I guess he felt more comfortable expressing his true beliefs. Years later, my wife and I were invited to Northpoint, so we went. I didn't realize it was just a campus, so I'm sitting there after, what I would call a rock concert, expecting to see Andy come out and preach and instead they played his sermon on the big screen, lol. I was like, where is the preacher?! I remember being disappointed by the message and felt as if I was watching a motivational speaker like Tony Robbins, more than a pastor of a church. The couple who invited us were excited to know what we thought about the music and happily let us know Andy actually shows up some weeks! We told them it wasn't for us. Also, my wife asked someone to get in touch with her about their views on homosexuality because she thought for sure the men in the nursery were gay, but nobody ever came by or called. Hiding something maybe?
Andy Stanley has been a heretic for quite a while.
Bud Ahlheim? wrote: Andy Stanley’s “sermon” – actually he called it a “conversation” – this past Sunday morning at his megachurch, Northpoint Community Church in Atlanta, comes on the heels of the outrageous commentary he offered merely a few days earlier at a Southern Baptist Conference hosted by Russell Moore and the Ethics And Religious Liberty Commission.
The highlight of his attack on God’s Word at that event came in response to the “what if you were the evangelical pope” query posited by Russell Moore. The zenith moment of Stanley’s response came in this uttered reply,
“I would ask preachers and pastors and student pastors in their communications to get the spotlight off the Bible and back on the resurrection.” Andy Stanley
Stanley proceeded to give a brief, theologically noxious outline for how he’d reprint the Bible so that unbelievers would find it more palatable.
