Barbara Bush, Wife of 41st President and Mother of 43rd, Dies at 92
Barbara Bush, the widely admired wife of one president and the fiercely loyal mother of another, died Tuesday evening. She was 92.

Jim McGrath, a family spokesman, announced the death in a statement posted to Twitter.

On Sunday, the office of her husband, former President George Bush, issued a statement saying that after consulting her family and her doctors, Mrs. Bush had “decided not to seek additional medical treatment and will instead focus on comfort care.”

The Bushes had celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary in January, making them the longest-married couple in presidential history. ...

Agreed. I just wish instead of justifying these people and saying how good they were and how wonderful they were as Christians, people would be honest and tell it like it is. Use these poor damned souls as examples to strike fear into the hearts of those who are perishing.

(sarcasm alert)...but she was such a nice lady! I know the Baptist pastor at that church that John attends on Sunday mornings believed that she was saved, so she much be.
It's a shame that we will inevitably run into those who will defend her and her so called faith. Apparently one's fruit doesn't matter anymore.
Yes, and all of the Bushes say that Christ is their Savior. And of course I could add so do Obama and Hillary and Bill. It is almost impossible for any politician in this country to be successful and not profess some sort of belief in Christ. They take the parts they like and discount the parts they don’t.

What people like JohnY and I might add others who post of this forum have done is merge cultural conservatism with salvation making them synonymous. Just because a Christian is conservative does not make a conservative a Christian. That is a logical fallacy.

There is nothing wrong with showing compassion when anyone dies. Their marriage was wonderful and no one relishes in the sadness that her loved ones will experience.
But, let me add that she now understands that homosexual marriage is an abomination in God's eyes and that abortion is not some kind of personal choice; two things she publicly endorsed. And lastly, she now understands that the group skull and bones were and are satanic.
She is now in God's hands and He will do what is perfectly righteous.

It sure will. Very sad to see marriages breaking up by people who claim to be "Christian", and only lasting a few years.
As for Barbara Bush, I won't comment on thos subject. I know the kind of flack you get once you start having an honest discussion about that certain persons life (Billy Graham, for example).
I was on SA a few yrs ago for a brief time, and I remember following the thread when Nancy Reagan died; HOLY COW, I learned really quick that you DO NOT blaspheme the "republican" presidents!!!!

everything isn't about politics. She had some good accomplishments. Hopefully she was saved but if not it should just cause us further grief. A man lost his wife of 73 years, a family lost a mom, grandmother, and great grandmother. Conner had an appropriate response.

Yep. That's a definite accomplishment in this day and age. I remember a couple standing up in church years ago, and they were celebrating 75 years. Me and my wife were just married. Amazing! Still holding hands, still in love. Great stuff!

We're all getting on, aren't we? I pray God opens their eyes to the fact that they need to repent of their sin and rebellion against God.
