Nebraska Budget Denies Taxpayer Dollars for Abortion

The governor of Nebraska has signed a budget bill that defunds Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers in the state.

Before Gov. Pete Ricketts, a Republican, signed the spending package Wednesday, the Nebraska Legislature had failed twice to pass the $8.8 billion budget, USA Today reported.

“There is no ‘carve out’ for any organization in the budget language,” Taylor Gage, director of strategic communications for Ricketts, told The Daily Signal in an email. “No organization can use Title X dollars to provide abortion services, including counseling or referrals.” ...

Paris Reidhead puts this nicely. We are not fundamentalists because we believe something but because we agree with the definition of a fundamentalist. Most say today they are Christian, not because God saved them but because they can say yes, to a list of convictions. JohnY...are you listening?

Whenever talk turns to Donald Trump’s enemies, the Democrats and the media are always assumed to be at the top of his hit list. This is a man, after all, who cries out “Fake News!” almost as often as he draws breath.

But Trump’s truest enemy isn’t any card-carrying journalist, progressive Democrat, or disgruntled member of the Deep State. It’s any American who doesn’t have much money.... It will hurt the sickest and most vulnerable.....

I thought Jeremiah Johnson was a mountain man. So what's he doing stomping around those pancake-flat cornfields in Nebraska?

We are not funding life-saving measures  I believe the article I picked pointed out that 79,000 people could be getting Medicaid if our Romish governor and the one before him weren't against it. You can thank you Romish Co-belligerents, for this law.
Jeremiah Johnson wrote:
Worse still, many Christians are all too happy to lend those false religions spiritual credibility by operating as co-belligerents.

Such ecumenical partnerships require a muddying of doctrinal waters. Theological distinctives are downplayed or set aside in the name of unity, as both sides come to a polemical cease-fire in pursuit of a common goal.

I'm against abortion unless the the mother's life is endangered, so I have complained against this Romish initiative. But I'm certainly against the stance that Nebraska govt., has taken against Medicaid, etc. A lot of post-birth lives are at stake.

Any information Jim quotes in more than likely inaccurate and misleading. Medicaid expansion would cost not save the state millions as an unfunded mandate as the federal government only partially funds it

Medicaid funds are often used to pay for BC and other services (?) Planned Murderhood provides. Jim is probably correct that this is bait and switch. I would have to do more research to know for certain.

Don't worry, Jim. A hellbound liberal judge will overturn Nebraska's decision.

This supposed money they're saving could have went to something like Medicaid❗ Bait and switch as usual👎 ]] (Voters May Be Wising Up)👍
Louise Norris wrote:
Governor Pete Ricketts continued to oppose Medicaid expansion, calling it too expensive and insisting that community health clinics are a better solution for Nebraska (despite the fact that they aren’t equipped to provide a full range of healthcare). But the U of N study found that if Nebraska had expanded Medicaid already, the state would have saved $3.5 million in the 2016 fiscal year. The savings increase in coming years, making continued resistance to Medicaid expansion a financially poor decision.

If coverage is expanded, an additional 79,600 people could be covered under Nebraska’s Medicaid program by 2020. In January 2015, corporate and philanthropic leaders in Nebraska were working to rally support for Medicaid expansion.
