Luke 24 1-6, But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.

Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me. Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done. And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers, Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept. And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you. So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
Hope everyone knew I was using the scripture in jest. I have actually had someone say that to me. "The disciples stole the body of Jesus away, or the high priests wouldn't have said that."
Maybe it was John Yurich's pastor that started that yarn. I think John should ask him om Sunday.

The Bible actually says that the disciples stole the body of Jesus away. Matthew 28.13 says so...

Romans 3:10 As it is written, "There is none righteous, not even one." Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. Romans 10:13 For "Whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved."---]]NASB

Penny, look at this fairly short article in the Christian Post seeing the comments by Billy Graham's granddaughter about Franklin Graham. It applies to people who work in the Trump administration as well who call themselves Christian‚Ěó ]]https://tinyurl.com/yd378byc

Personally, if there is something we can focus on, then we celebrate that as long as the focus can remain on Jesus Christ. If ANYTHING pulls our focus away from Christ, then it goes out. Christmas is our opportunity to celebrate Christ coming to earth. Passover is our opportunity to celebrate Christ's sacrifice and resurrection.
The biggest problem with Christians is they get caught up in celebrating that which pulls us away from Christ. Easter egg hunts, trick or treating, Santa, etc.
James Thomas wrote: John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. 1 John 5 20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us a mind to know him. Which is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
Wonderful texts, St James. Tell me brother, if it is at all possible, how do you read the expression "know thee" in the first, and "a mind to know him" in the second? Thank you bro.
John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
1 John 5 20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us a mind to know him. Which is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
1 John 3:23 This then is his commandments, that we believe in the Name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave commandment
1 Corinthians 15:19-26 KJV (19)  If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. (20)  But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. (21)  For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. (22)  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. (23)  But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. (24)  Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. (25)  For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. (26)  The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
Sure, the reign of the Lord Jesus Christ is right now, folks. At his coming, he hands back to the Father.
Also of interest is the fact of two resurrections in us, thanks to Christ's resurrection. The first occurs at the new birth and symbolised later in water baptism by immersion. Going down we portray our crucifixion with Christ; coming back up, we portray our resurrection unto newness of life. The second occurs at the second Advent.
1 Peter 1:3-9 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God‚Äôs power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith‚ÄĒmore precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire‚ÄĒmay be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.---ESV
