Trump Inauguration Bible Heads to Museum

One of the two Bibles Donald Trump used to take the oath of office is joining others used by American presidents at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C.

The Revised Standard Version edition Bible given to the future 45th president of the United States by his mother when he was a child is the same Bible he used when he attended First Presbyterian Church in Jamaica, Queens, N.Y.

In January 2017, President-elect Trump showed the hard-bound Bible to David Brody of the Christian Broadcasting Network and described an inscription Trump said was made by his mother, Mary Anne MacLeod Trump, who died in 2000. ...

Why would any conservative Christian be against Trump? He is a saved Christian and is a much better president than Obama was because he is against abortion, homosexuality, homosexual marriage and against every other perversion under the sun.

The Mormons & Other Cults

The Mormon Cult is strongly KING JAMES ONLY. They are attempting to revamp their image as being mainstream Christian, despite their actual beliefs that Jesus Christ is the half brother of Satan. The Book of Mormon written in KJV style English to make the two appear compatible from a literary view point. In America, daily TV adverts by the Latter Day Saints with a toll free telephone number offer a free KJV bible to all callers....

After the textual corruption of its own New World Translation, the Jehovah's Witnesses prefer the KJV because like the the KJV reduces the Holy Spirit from a person to an 'it', (the KJV translators on this point failed to grasp that gender in Greek does not mean what gender does in English) which the JW cult p[o]int to when they are door knocking to persuade people to reject the Trinity.

David Koresh and his Branch Davidian cult were exclusively KJV Only; it is the preferred translation of demonic cults. Why do these Ruckmanites insist on a bible that calls the Holy Spirit an 'it' and supports Jehovah's Witness beliefs? ...

There are four five letters that are easily readable about a New York Times article. No doubt they're probably better than the article at least from the tenor of the letters. ]]http://tinyurl.com/y886llcb (Trump and the Evangelicals).

Look and see if anybody else did that this quote from the SA article:
'“It’s amazing and all written out sort of like so that I always know that it is mine,” Trump said, showing a white flyleaf inscribed with handwritten cursive. “But it is special and I open that and I look at it a lot.”'

I see nothing about him ever looking at the Bible itself this is pity since the NRSV, was the first Bible in America in contemporary English. It was quite readable. But like leading horses to water you have a difficult time of leading men to Scriptures also.

That's right. They know they have no sure wordS

Infallibility of Scripture - are you a Bible believer or a Bible agnostic?

It is a fact that most professing Christians today do not believe in an infallible Bible nor in the infallibility of Scripture in any language. rather extensive article with various quotes and polls from present day Evangelicals which prove that this is the present state of Christianity all over the world. You may see it here if you wish. It is called “The Bible is NOT the inspired and infallible word of God.”

http://brandplucked.webs.com/thebiblenotinspired.htm

right? Or what ever you have Left, as leftovers , when vultures get done ??

"I believe we have the inspired, inerrant word of God."

Says Trump, Paula White , Nebraska Man, and they all Frankly think they are right

"I believe we have the
inspired,
inerrant wordS
of God." Quote from Me

But one has a single, in print Bible he can give to anyone. The other is pointing to a conflicting&contradictory pile of thousands of textual variants.

really Inerrant?

I agree, Frank. In an imperfect world one can only vote for imperfect candidates. Of the two who made it to the "finals," to borrow a sports term, Trump was a great deal less imperfect than Clinton.

I voted for Trump for one reason. He ran as a conservative and because of that I knew that he would have to pander to conservatives. I thought that because of that just one little baby might be saved from being murdered. That was my only reason, but I still believe it was legitimate.

I hope our KJVOnlist trolls can stick to the news article. Two unsaved people with their hands on a bible and thinking it is something spiritual.

Bill Combs wrote:
I suppose I should qualify that answer. A church should not switch from (abandon) the KJV to another version of the Bible if it would truly be harmful to the well-being of the church. But it is difficult to imagine there are many instances where this would be the result. Also, obviously, I don’t mean to imply that any church should be compelled by some external authority to make such a change. But I am saying, in general, churches that use the KJV would be better off if they made a purposeful change to a modern version. It would be helpful to both the pastor and members of the church to make the switch.

Why?

I believe there are two main reasons why moving to a modern version is beneficial. The first is the nature of the NT Greek text from which the KJV was translated in 1611. The Greek text behind the KJV is inferior to the editions of the the Greek text available to modern Bible.... translators.

Well as you know I would never say anything positive about Jim from Lincoln. He is the only one that might fit that category. But when he is presenting his argument, it is usually because something was noted previously. He doesn't initiate it like IE and JohnUK.

There is no such term as a nasb or a esv onlyist. And of course, that same thought would go for any version that exists other than the KJV. IOW, what in the world are you talking about.

But, even though you and I disagree on this, I do care whether you read the Quran. IOW, I consider you to be in fact saved. I think we should read the bibles that we are convinced are best examples of the word of God.

Pick a fight with someone who desires to argue with you. You have denied being a KJVOnlyist in the past. So what is your problem with my comment. Last one to you on this thread unless you suddenly start being respectful.

The RSV was a fine Bible, but one should give president Trump the update for it.
Christopher Pope wrote:
English Standard Version

The ESV has the same general strengths as its cousin, the NASB: it is a conservative, literal translation from the oldest manuscripts, presented in contemporary English. The ESV handles difficult textual decisions slightly better than the NASB, and the real paragraph format may also make it more attractive to some people. It is, however, somewhat less literal than the NASB, and occasionally is too interpretive. The editors have done an excellent job of retaining the best of the RSV while ridding it of its liberal biases. [ ] The ESV is theologically the strongest version out there. It would be nice, however, to see pronouns referring to God capitalized.
