IRS Documented 1.3M Identity Thefts by Illegal Aliens; Can’t Say It Referred Any for Prosecution

The Internal Revenue Service in 2011 through 2016 documented more than 1.3 million cases of identity theft perpetrated by illegal aliens whom the IRS had given Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITIN), which are only given to people who are ineligible to work in the United States or receive Social Security Numbers, according to information published by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA).

However, in response to inquiries from CNSNews.com, the IRS could not say if it had referred even one of these cases for criminal prosecution.

TIGTA, which is the inspector general responsible for overseeing the IRS, discovered another approximately 1.2 million cases in 2017 in which an illegal alien working in the United States had filed a tax return reporting wages that had been earned using a Social Security Number that belonged to someone else or was fabricated. ...

Thanks for that testimony, Hugh. Me too, brother. I am now settled on the KJV (for the last 18 years) and will not be distracted away from it.

JUK, I was going to respond to Mr. Pooh Pooh, but you did a wonderful job for all of us. I will say that I don't know of any advocates of the KJB who "propose everyone across the world must use it." Read an inferior version if you insist, Grumpy Bear. Read no version at all. No one, including God, is trying to ram the truth down your throat. And since we are not issuing orders, but merely making suggestions, why don't you stop calling yourself Edward Bear and adopt the moniker Pepe le Pew? You're not a cute, cuddly bear at all, but a disgusting, lying skunk.

Edward, you might be helped somewhat if you were to read some of the responses to your posts, which would have answered some of your concerns.

But alas, you do not respond to anyone, merely you trot out your doubts concerning God's word. Hoping for what? To make some more doubters like yourself?

Now if you are backslidden, you could try making some friends on here who will pray for you.

Or if you are dying of cancer and feeling low, and not entirely sure about your eternal destiny, stick around and pick up on some of our faith in God's word.

Or if you are an unregenerate troll seeking to "upset them there Christians", I suggest sticking around anyway. Maybe the Lord will call you unto himself. He calls all his sheep out by name, and gives unto them eternal life.

Or if you a grumpy Christian, maybe you should stop feeding the flesh (the old man) and begin feeding the spiritual side of you (the new creature in Christ Jesus). Then your grumpiness will transform into praise and thanksgiving to God, love for even the KJV crowd, and God may even make you into a soulwinner.

Whatever you are, remember that we have freedom of speech, praise God.

I wonder if somewhere in France, there is a group of churches who think they have discovered the Correct Version of the Bible (in French, of course), the one that God has revealed to them that he has protected and allowed to be passed down to today's date, without changing.

That's about how I see the KJV-Only folk.
I have no problem with them reading their favorite version. The problem is when they propose everyone across the world must use it. In that respect, they become more like Muslims, who believe that their Koran is only valid in Arabic.

In fact, they are 'more Muslim than Muslims' because there is no dispute in the Muslim world about how you interpret this verse or that verse. They are fighting and killing each other over other issues, but not the Koran, which they don't read because most of them can't read Arabic.

Meanwhile, the world continues on with bigger issues that have nothing to do with this issue. People drive down a road and a bridge falls on them. Kids go to school and a shooting gets started. People open a package in Austin, Texas, and..well, you can see how important this is as compared to these things.

2 Corinthians 6:11
(NIV) We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians, and opened wide our hearts to you.
(KJV) O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged.
12 (NIV) We are not withholding our affection from you, but you are withholding yours from us.
(KJV) Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels.
13(NIV) As a fair exchange--I speak as to my children--open wide your hearts also.
(KJV) Now for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged.

You really should get the NIV1984 app or a New King James one, so you can translate on-the-fly what the Bible is actually saying if you belong to a KJVO church.

Out of curiosity these aliens who are "stealing" identities--doesn't this mean they are paying taxes they probably wouldn't be otherwise?

...this is not to say that the TR is a theologically bad text. The differences between it and modern editions do not affect doctrine in any way, but there are differences, and we naturally want our English translations to be based on a Greek text that is as close to the original writings as possible. For instance, in 1 John 3:1 the KJV reads, “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.” But the ESV reads, “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.” The ESV (and NASB, NIV, HCSB) add the phrase “and so we are,” reflecting the fact that we now possess very old manuscripts which add those words at this point in the text. The best evidence suggests that John actually wrote these words, but they apparently accidentally dropped out of the manuscript tradition. Although these words don’t ultimately change the message of 1 John, nevertheless, the user of a modern version like the ESV is in possession of a Bible that more accurately reflects what the authors of Scripture actually wrote.

Like the vast majority of IFB churches, the one I attend uses the KJB in all of its English services and classes. However, the Spanish and Chinese pastors at our church preach and teach from Bibles in their own language. Almost every IFB church supports missionaries to foreign countries--including IFB churches that are IN foreign countries. Our church supports almost a hundred missionaries who preach and teach the Bible in Tagalog, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Swahili, Spanish, and many other languages. One missionary in particular meets foreign ships coming into U.S. harbors and gives crewmembers Bibles and gospel literature in their own languages. The assertion that those who believe the KJB is the right Bible for English-speaking people also try (or should try) to force it on people whose primary language is not English is slanderous and spiteful. Thank God I have the Word of God in my King James Bible, and I am able to assist in sharing the Word of God with other people in their own languages. Some of you KJV haters ought to give it a shot.

Exactly.

YIA here is a good modern version for you:

https://www.biblegateway.com/versions/21st-Century-King-James-Version-KJ21-Bible/

Version Information
The 21st Century King James Version of the Holy Bible (KJ21®) is an updating of the 1611 King James Version (KJV).

It is not a new translation, but a careful updating to eliminate obsolete words by reference to the most complete and definitive modern American dictionary, the Webster's New International Dictionary, Second Edition, unabridged. Spelling, punctuation, and capitalization have also been updated.

It is online and free!

The Bible version debate is not so much a KJV issue it is a Textus Receptus issue. The Textus Receptus is far more accurate as the Alexandrian Texts are heavily corrected. If older is better with manuscripts that are highly edited according to textual critics then which edition do you use and what is the date of those corrections?

Like John said there are some very informative documentaries about the subject such as: Lamp in The Dark

Youth in Asia wrote:
The Bible says: When anyone hears the word about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches what was sown in his heart; this is the seed sown along the path. -Matthew 13:19
The Key word there is "Does not understand it" - and that is what is happening in a lot of KJV studies.
YIA, just a couple of points, by way of response.

Firstly, in the parable of the sower, it is only the "good soil" hearers who understand and bear ongoing fruit. Putting the Bible into the simplest language possible will make therefore no difference to the "seed sown along the path".

Secondly, it bears repeating, because so many dear folks have not yet grasped this, that the issue is not one of modernising the scriptures; this is easily accomplished, and even I could do that.

No, the issue is, "Where is the word of God?"

If you wish for a modern translation, where are the Greek texts you are going to use for such a thing? Will you use the "Received Text", used in the KJV, or the corrupted mss used in most modern versions?

If you use the Received Text, you will have the KJV with modern words. But if you use the corrupted mss, you will have a whole different Bible which says different things.

I could never understand old English, and I have seen many language learners pick it up and immediately give up and throw it away. I have many negative feelings toward KJV only people, because They tie up heavy loads, hard to carry, and put them on men's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing even to lift a finger to move them, you never see them learning another language, especially the ancient version of it.

As my consultant friend puts it; the older we get the more we develop a case of “Teflon Brain”. “What is ‘Teflon Brain’?!? ”, you’re probably asking. It’s a bad case of the older we get the more we face the inevitable that less and less sticks to that gray matter in our brains!

We reach out to people, not them reaching out to us.

If you will post an angry reply, with slander then don't, go and pray that God would change my burden to be more KJV friendly, then come back and reply.

This reminds me of the need in the US to teach immigrants English. Anyone who believes that the KJV is the only version that everyone throughout the world can use will agree with me on this, and will be converting their churches into classrooms to offer them free English classes.
