Vatican Bank’s Ex-Chief Indicted Over $60 Million in Embezzlement Losses
A former president of the Vatican bank has been ordered to stand trial on charges of embezzlement and money laundering, the Vatican has said, making him the highest-ranking Holy See financial official to be indicted on charges tying him to losses of more than $61 million from real estate sales.

A statement by the bank, officially known as the Institute for Works of Religion, said Angelo Caloia, 78, who was president of the I.O.R. from 1999 to 2009, was indicted on Friday, along with his lawyer Gabriele Liuzzo, 94.

A third person who was under investigation, the former I.O.R. director general Lelio Scaletti, died several years ago. ...

Why would an outfit that has robbed people of trillions of dollars want to hassle a guy who ripped off a measly 60 million? I'm surprised Franny doesn't act like other papas and dote on his precocious lad.

I do notice a similarity between this case and the Clintons. Whenever something starts to be revealed, someone commits suicide or dies in a car accident.

I would be one of those would point out that Freemasonry is not compatible with Christianity. But compared with non-Christian groups, such as a Catholic Church or the Anglican one, they are certainly a step up - -speaking in a human manner.

Every Freemason is amazed to hear that there are some people who hate Freemasonry and Masons.... What could possibly cause some people to hate us?...
For the last 100 years, those who feared secret conspiracies focused on two groups: Jews and Freemasons. They say either or both of these groups are trying to take over the world, destroy democracy, all governments, Christianity, all religions, so they (we) can rule over what is left after this destruction. These conspiracists are sure they are right,...

Chris GP, I would say most likely this banker was killed by a Catholic. But all too often we are affected by our society that we live in and no doubt Italian Masons being in a Catholic country are adversely affected by that culture.

I was living and working in Milan Italy, and another smaller town nearby for a year or so in the early 1980's, when the Banco Ambrosiana (linked up with the Vatican Bank) bankruptcy and fraud scandal, broke out, associated with both the Vatican Bank led by a corrupt American Catholic bishop named Marcinko, I think, who was sent to a monastery to live out his remaining days in disgrace, and a mysterious Masonic Lodge called P2, whose previous Grand Master, Signor Gelli, (I think I got the name right), who escaped from Swiss police custody, and ended up a few days later hanging from Blackfriars Bridge in the middle of the City of London, a very suspicious death passed off as suicide, but actually consistent with a Masonic style murder.

A very murky turn of events and not very well covered up, and very big news at the time in Italy when I was there.

This is to be expected.

Romans 8:7 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. 8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.---ESV
