Plague ‘hiding in plain sight’, warn scientists

The bacteria that cause plague, or the Black Death, could be lying dormant in common soil and water sources, posing a serious public health risk, scientists have warned.

The finding, published in the journal Emerging Infectious Diseases, could explain why plague suddenly re-emerges without warning in countries such as Madagascar and even the United States.

In the middle ages the Black Death swept through Europe, killing an estimated 75 to 200 million people. It is no longer a global threat but the new research may explain its occasional outbreaks across the world. ...

I will say one thing the plague vaccination hurts going in, and it's definitely one that might make you want to sit down for the rest of the day. This is my memory of it when I had it in the army.

Somebody who still remembers that pollution if something that conservative Christians at least used to be concerned about.

Oh, and yes, Youth in Asia

Tik Root wrote:
John Muir was a fervent believer. Not just in science or conservation or the National Park Service, which he championed. The founder of the Sierra Club and father of American environmentalism also believed in God. “The forests of America, however slighted by man, must have been a great delight to God,” Muir wrote in his 1897 essay “The American Forests.” “[For centuries] God has cared for these trees, saved them from drought, disease, avalanches, and a thousand straining, leveling tempests and floods; but he cannot save them from fools.”

This sort of religious language was “very much present in early conservation movements,” ...

I think pollution will kill more people, when the air quality index in America is between 0-30, while China, India, is daily between 150 to 800, you know this will have a big impact on the future generations. You are literally asking for cancer if you choose to live in Asia.
Agreed

For those in bad air environs-

1-Try to get a lot of fresh water IN you to enhance lung cleaning

2- try to diminish humidity indoors to diminish carrying capacity of pollutants

-
And for those of Nordic, European,&Russian heritage,
an Alpha1 blood test can give a "heads up " to predilection toward lung problems.
-/

Alpha-1 is a hereditary condition marked by a shortage of a functional protein known as alpha-1 antitrypsin.1

Alpha-1 antitrypsin plays an important role in protecting your lungs from damage due to excessive inflammation.
Without this protein, your lungs may weaken over time and place you at a higher risk for developing diseases, such as emphysema and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Good to know our weakness by heredity & environment.
