Not long ago I found myself exhausted in my body and weary in my soul. I read a verse that greatly encouraged me—one which I had never remembered pausing to consider. “For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul” (Jeremiah 31:25). That was the verse I needed on that day. God fully satisfies and refreshes us when we are weary. He restores our souls (Psalm 23:3). As we wait on God we renew our strength so that we can run and not grow weary (Isaiah 40:31). “O soul, are you weary and troubled? No light in the darkness you see? Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in his wonderful face!” “Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge, Take it to the Lord in prayer.”
Our broadcasters offer feedback regularly that greatly encourages us and others as we labor for the work of gospel proclamation. Pray that we would press on in God's strength. “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” (Galatians 6:9).
