Former gymnast Rachael Denhollander used her statement Wednesday against sex abuser Larry Nassar as a testimony and message of grace and forgiveness.
She was the final victim to make a statement in the sentencing hearing in Ingham County Circuit Court in Michigan. Judge Rosemarie Aquilina sentenced Nassar, the former USA Gymnastics team doctor, to up to 175 years in a Michigan prison for his abuse of young female gymnasts.
“In our early hearings, you brought your Bible into the courtroom and you have spoken of praying for forgiveness. And so it is on that basis that I appeal to you. If you have read the Bible you carry, you know the definition of sacrificial love portrayed is of God himself loving so sacrificially that he gave up everything to pay a penalty for the sin he did not commit. By his grace, I, too, choose to love this way,” Denhollander said, according to a full transcript of her...
Yes NeedHim, all who name the name of Christ are to refrain from sin and live holy lives. We are to be conformed into the image of Christ. But, I thank God that my sins are not held against me and when I stand before Christ, He will see only His righteousness that was imputed to me.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness [come] by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 21 For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
My Savior already paid for all my sins; past, present and future.
Praise Him, that He loved us, yet while we were rebels & tyrants against Him, proclaim Him, without regeneration one isn’t prepared to meet Him amen.
Thomas Watson; There is no going to heaven without sanctification. "Without holiness no man shall see the Lord." God is a holy God, & he will allow no unholy creature to come near him. A king willn’t allow a man with plague-sores to approach into his presence. Heaven isn’t like Noah's ark—where the clean beasts & the unclean entered. No unclean beasts come into the heavenly ark; for though God allows the wicked to live awhile on the earth, he will never allow heaven to be pestered with such vermin! Are they fit to see God—who wallow in wickedness? Will God ever lay such vipers in his bosom? "Without holiness no man shall see the Lord." It must be a clear eye that sees a bright object: only a holy heart can see God in his glory. Sinners may see God as an enemy—but n’t as a friend! They will have an affrighting vision of him, but n’t a beatific vision! They will see the flaming sword but n’t the mercy-seat! Oh then, what need is there of sanctification!
Very well said Lee, without the salvation offered by Christ, we would be on trial, perhaps not for the doctor’s crimes, but if we’ve lusted in our heart or harbored hatred against our neighbor then we are no different. In our place, He stood.

A nice thing that should be said on the way to a tall oak With a short rope. Enuff time to repent & short enuff time to focus attention But not in Just A System
