With 25,339 murders in 2017, Mexico suffers record homicide tally
There were more than 25,000 murders across drug-ravaged Mexico in 2017, the highest annual tally since modern records began, government data showed.
Investigators opened 25,339 murder probes last year, up nearly 25 percent from the 2016 tally, interior ministry data released on Saturday showed. It was the highest annual total since the government began counting murders in 1997.
Mexico has struggled with years of violence as the government has battled vicious drug cartels that have increasingly splintered into smaller, more bloodthirsty, gangs....
Aye, you are probably right doc, but a true believer resisting such is, unbelievable!!! Can it truly be so? Surely not, but I guess in these last days anything is possible, may God forgive and bring them to repentance.
Thousands murdered each year!!!!!! All the family's and extended family members affected by these killings, Its breathtakingly sad. Oh if The Lord by His Spirit would touch that country by an awakening, how wonderful would that be. Then again, it would be wonderful for it to happen anywhere. The last awakening in the U.K. Was on the Isle of Lewis off the west coast of Scotland, so long ago, I often ponder as to why the Saints all over the world, are not burdened to pray for an awakening!! My apologies for rambling, I am in a reflective mood I guess!!
Our church provides support to ten full-time missionaries in Mexico, including one in Mexico City. Tonight we read a prayer letter from one of the missionaries who baptized 69 new converts last year. Do by all means pray for these missionaries and their families.
Prefaced those all with "Coulter wall reasons " 👀Look again Mr McGoo glasses🤓? Great pseudonym
I agree with your title ! Channge to¿ " dislexic Dummy" ?the aliterative effect is evocative. "the dumb spake; and the people wondered" Lk11:14b Oh, & dummy? The last quote was from Isaiah Not Coulter or someone named is.
Tragically, Mexico is indeed full of violence and a literal cult of death.
Apart from the superstitious goings on of the Catholic populace who pray at family tombstones in cemeteries on All Hallows' Eve on the Mexican version of Halloween, and the murderous rampages of the drug gangs who ruthlessly kill their rivals, and indeed anyone who gets in their way, there actually is a literal death cult.
There is a worship of "Santa Muerte", literally "Saint Death", and whole hordes of people visit demonic shrines of this mythical figure, who is represented by a skeleton. Incense and sacrifices are offered to this idol, and it is carried around in procession, I believe. This is not officially part of any Catholic ritual, but tragically most of the people involved in this probably also attend the Catholic Church.
Meanwhile in southern Mexico, in the rural state of Chiapas, evangelical Protestant families are expelled by their local village councils from their homes, fields and farms, and even improsoned, contrary to the Mexican federal law, because they will not attend or pay for pseudo-Catholic proto-pagan fiestas, where statues of saints are carred about in procession, and much riotous drunkenness takes place. Mexico is obviously a land in need of much prayer, and Gospel outrea
...and yet another shooting at a small Kentucky school. A 16yr old boy and girl, dead. Times sure have changed. God gets taken out of the equation, evolution pushed as truth, recreational drugs on every street corner, and even legalized, kids on anti-depressants and anxiety meds that mess them up even worse, and an addiction to social media that drags them down even further, or subjects them to bullying, etc. The days of meeting somebody by the flag pole after school to settle a difference are long gone as murder is the new solution.

You are a plagiarist, you do not give credit to whom you copy their statements.
the border needs to be brought under control for both sides. guess mexico likes all the money from america's paychecks sent to them, but they also have destability of drug running, beheadings at borders, and massive numbers of foreigners running through their country to jump our border.
Have to say I'm all for public flogging. One type of criminal that a public humiliation might work particularly well with are the juvenile delinquents, a lot of whom consider it a badge of honor to be sent to juvenile detention. And it might not be such a cool thing in the 'hood' to be flogged publicly. - ¿ import more of that culture?? - 1960, whites were 90 percent of the country. Vanda Felbab-Brown wrote: how the United States goes about reducing demand matters. Bringing hardcore addicts into treatment substantially reduces demand, since outside of treatment they consume 80 percent of drugs, with casual users consuming the rest. Mounting an abstinence campaign does little good, and imprisoning users causes tremendous social harm without cutting down use and demand. Yet in policy after policy the Trump administration is repeating the ineffective and counterproductive punishment route: increasing penalties, including incarceration, for users and non-violent dealers (which the Obama administration finally backed away from), repealing Obamacare provisions that enabled addicts to access medical treatment for their addiction as well as mental health problems, and slashing the budget of the Office on National Drug Policy Control which (with all of its problems and challenges) is a crucial source of data.
