Catholic civil war over Communion for the divorced escalates
The battle between Pope Francis and conservative Catholics over Communion for the divorced and remarried has escalated after five bishops reaffirmed traditional Church teaching on the issue and the Pope was reported to have said they will 'regret it bitterly'.

The controversial statement was originally issued by three Kazakhstan bishops on December 31 which, as they noted, was the Feast of the Holy Family. They were Tomash Peta, Archbishop of Saint Mary in Astana, Jan Pawel Lenga, Archbishop-Bishop of Karaganda, and Athanasius Schneider, Auxiliary Bishop of Saint Mary in Astana. ...

If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.
J. C. Ryle: "Tell the young, tell the poor, tell the aged, tell the ignorant, tell the sick, tell the dying, tell them all about Christ. Tell them of His power, & tell them of His love; tell them of His doings, & tell them of His feelings; tell them what He has done for the chief of sinners; tell them what He is willing to do until the last day of time; tell it to them over & over again. Never be tired of speaking of Christ. Say to them broadly & fully, freely & unconditionally, unreservedly & undoubtingly, ‘Come unto Christ, as the penitent thief did; come unto Christ, & you shall be saved.'" Most edifying NH, thank you!

Thankyou needhim
Kind and true words for John y, though unless he's quickened by supernatural power from on high, convicted and sanctified by the Holy Spirit he'll remain dead in trespass, which I pray daily he'll be enlightened.
Sister MS made a wonderful statement,
My father was a strict Roman Catholic, my mother was a strict seventh day Adventist,
Now if God hadn't chosen my mother and I, we'd still be dead in trespass, having religion without Christ.
So we must pray for all and sundry still under Satan's dominion in these cults.
I'm not saying "oh these poor people have been tricked"
As we all run headlong and willingly to sin, but I'm thankful Father God opened our eyes and inclines our hearts to him.

John Y, you are sadly are deceived & blinded by n’t have your feet firmly planted in the Word of God, changing you & transforming you.

Any Born Again Christian who has been regenerated with new spiritual life in ones walk of life in & through Christ. Would n’t encourage one to remain in Rome or attends a Mass that Mocks the clear teachings of Christ Word.

Jhn Y; You can say what ever you like to but you are fighting against the Word of God & your own postings on here, expose yourself of being Religious, but still spiritually dead in your trespasses & sins. As pastor Steve isn’t the bench mark of weither one is saved or n’t. May the Lord remove your spiritual blinders you have on amen!

The RCC version of communion differs from the biblical version, which we who are born again partake of in remembrance of the finished work of Christ. It isn't based on marital status.

Here is the RCC 'version'...Eucharist: From the Greek word meaning to thank, a sacrament of the New Law in which, under the appearances of bread
and wine, the Body and Blood of Christ are truly, really and substantially present, as the grace-producing food of the soul. The
priest, who alone has the power given him by God to prepare the ingredients for this sacrament, by pronouncing the words of
consecration, changes the substance of bread and wine into Christ’s Body and Blood. The Holy Eucharist is the living
(emphasis in original) Christ: the wafer containing the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ (1374) that is to be
worshipped, consumed and sacrificed (1378).
Expiation: The work of expiation continues through the unbloody sacrifice of the Mass for all time. Hence, for us (Catholics),
the greatest work of expiation is through the sacrifice of the Mass by which God is placated. - from http://deceptioninthechurch.com/rcc.html

Of course Catholics who have divorced and remarried without first obtaining an annulment of their previous marriage should not receive Holy Communion during Mass.

As bro. Dave pointed out, they have a bigger spiritual problem..
May we all remember these folk are in gross darkness and need to hear the sovereign grace gospel of mercy to sinners.

If God grants, may many sinners be converted from satanic Roman Catholicism to Him for His Glory..Amen.

As a born again, divorced remarried man, I take communion because Jesus said, "Do this in remembrance of me." That is His broken body and shed blood. Not, "Do this in remembrance of the Roman Catholic Church rules laws and regulations." Neither did he say"Except he be divorced and remarried. So I remember Jesus died on the cross to save me from my sins. Even saved murderers are invited to communion, in memory that He died for the sins of the murderer.

"The battle between Pope Francis and conservative Catholics over Communion for the divorced and remarried has escalated after five bishops reaffirmed traditional Church teaching on the issue and the Pope was reported to have said they will 'regret it bitterly'."

Looks like the doctrine of papal infallibility might take a hit, and if it does, what will the future be for the mother church? Will it bow to peer pressure, stick with it, or implode.

I really believed the present pope would not last five minutes, and said so. Here he is, still in office, and surely must be on someone's contract by now.

Now, I wouldn't want to can minimize the power of a Catholic bishop, see ]]http://tinyurl.com/ybxqcr6l (America’s Catholic Bishops), and these foreign Bishops probably yield as much or more power than American Bishops do in their dioceses.

But how much attention will a pope pay attention to these back water Bishops?--not very much. The attention they are getting in some media will only be short-term. They are not in an important or powerful Catholic area.
