Apple faces lawsuits after saying it slows down aging iPhones
Apple Inc defrauded iPhone users by slowing devices without warning to compensate for poor battery performance, according to eight lawsuits filed in various federal courts in the week since the company opened up about the year-old software change.
The company acknowledged last week for the first time in detail that operating system updates released since "last year" for the iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, iPhone SE and iPhone 7 included a feature "to smooth out" power supply from batteries that are cold, old or low on charge.
Phones without the adjustment would shut down abruptly because of a precaution designed to prevent components from getting fried, Apple said.
The disclosure followed a Dec. 18 analysis by Primate Labs, which develops an iPhone performance measuring app, that identified blips in processing speed and concluded that a software change had to be behind them....
Don't mind older iPhone you may not be able to get the newer ones

The technology company said Monday that all of its iPhone manufacturing facilities are outside Hubei province, and all have been reopened, but that production is ramping up slowly. "Work is starting to resume around the country, but we are experiencing a slower return to normal conditions than we had anticipated. As a result, we do not expect to meet the revenue guidance we provided for the March quarter due to two main factors," the company said in a press release....

The only apple product I ever bought was a iPod nano back in 2009. Trying to connect it to my window computer and load on my own music was simply impossible. I sold it and went to Android. Get yourself a good sumsung tablet or phone and you won't have any of those issues (as long as it not a Galaxy S7+). Google as mastered the software world, and Samsung had mastered the hardware world. Combine them and you are good to go!📱
I refuse to install updates on my iPhone 6, and I have someone close to me who is visually impaired, has a phone more advanced than mine, and relies on Siri and other voice software, like Voiceover, and finds the constant updates maddening, because just as she gets used to the accessibility issues of her phone features, suddenly everything changes and she has to learn a whole new lot of things to regain full accessibility.
The other thing is that Apple are so commercially minded they won't allow specialist software companies for the visually impaired and Braille link up companies to work with them because they want to preserve their commercial privacy and monopoly on their phones and other products. Quite infuriating!!!!

Youth in Asia sorry about your phone.
Jim, don't think the lawsuit stands a chance in court. Also, Apple warned users of IPhone 4 not to update their phones starting with IOS version 8, so may be user error. Also, you know in the agreement you must acknowledge before any upgrade (Apple not alone here) you release the manufacturer of any legal liability.
My Iphone 4 was made completely useless by their updates, and I keep my old ipad un-updated. Bought it in 2012, still using it in 2018, it is a high quality product, but will never buy an apple product again.
