Sociologist: Sexual Revolution Has Cheapened Sex and Hurt Women
The price of sex has plummeted, throwing the âmating marketâ into a tizzy, according to Texas sociologist Mark Regnerus.
âIt turns out that a world in which it is possible to satisfy our sexual desires much more immediately carries with it a number of unhappy and unintended consequences,â writes Regnerus, an associate professor of sociology at the University of Texas at Austin, in a Wall Street Journal editorial. For his new book on the subject, Cheap Sex: The Transformation of Men, Marriage, and Monogamy, Regnerus conducted 100 in-depth interviews of young adults in five major cities and surveyed more than 15,000 people.
Marriage, an institution that studies consistently find creates the best environment for children and leads to happier, healthier, more financially stable adults, is in retreat: In 1970, 80 percent of 25- to 34-year-olds were married, compared to just 40 percent in 2015,...
While many of the comments about the focus of women are quite valid, a point I'd like to make is that by not following the Lord's commands about sex, marriage, and family, both men and women have hurt themselves and their children and continue to do so. When the focus becomes individual pleasure over Godly commitment and sacrifice for the other (i.e. Ephesians 5), the family bedrock is destroyed and everyone loses. Certainly no news flash here, but what are we doing about it? Too many who claim the name of Christ are involved in forwarding these practices. May the Lord call His church and people to repentance and put away these foreign practices and ideas.

The link worked out fine sister! I listened to it and was surprised as to how it supported my post. Our culture and the cultures of the world have changed and most don't even recognize that the change was for the worst.
I remember when I was young, they had high school courses in home economics for women. Can anyone imagine the uproar if they still had those?

I was reading this earlier & It was too gross to give much detail from it& Warning!gross actions I admit I was looking for some snarky way of saying that if charges against Moore are true, he should stop running as a Republican- &run as a dem 4 prez.
Poly - Ticks Many disgusting creepy things men on duty would frequently stand in front of female agents & Navy women that were present âlike a d*^n guardian.â On some occasions, they would make up reasons to get the women away from Biden.
âThey werenât allowed to disobey him at all, but weâd take them away under pretend auspices,â the agent stated.
Best-selling author Ronald Kessler wrote about Bidenâs "problem " with female agents in his book The First Family Detail. Biden was even referred to as âCreepy Uncle Joe Bidenâ by the Washington Post.
As Biden was in news the last 2 days, I re-adjusted my 1st thots of suspicion on Moore charges timing. hey! If creepy Bidden made it thru-maybe others (like Moore) were insulated.
I wonder how many Christian parents have told their daughters they were proud of them for their biblical female traits; gentleness, quietness, and the desire to be wives, homemakers and mothers. Or do they tell them they are proud of them for their intelligence, their beauty and their independence and ability to earn independent livings?
How many have told their male children they are proud of them because of their desire to be the Christian heads of their households, working and sacrificing for their wives and children and loving and cherishing their wives until death do them part? Or do they tell them they are proud of them for their ability to be successful in this world or are good at sports, etc.
I remember one of my daughters graduating from a Christian High school 30 years ago. There was only one male who spoke who wanted to be a missionary and there were no young women who spoke who said their goal was to be a Christian wife and mother. Now since that was around 30 years ago, my guess is things have simply gotten worse and worse. If we want to find out what happened to our society, just look at the examples we set. I was the guiltiest of Christian parents, so this is not an accusation, but an observation.
