Democrats are desperate to avoid a culture war with Trump in 2018
Democrats decided 16 months before the 2018 election how they would start winning races again. Gathered in a small Virginia town on a sweltering July day, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi and their lieutenants laid out a âBetter Deal" agenda focused on middle-class jobs and higher wages â a vow, they said, that their party would never again waver from a laser-like focus on the economy.
Donald Trump makes some promises difficult to keep.
Just days later, the president declared on Twitter that transgender men and women were banned from the military. His action drew a swift rebuke from Democrats, who rose in unison to denounce the president over the newest front in a cultural â not economic â fight....
I have a right to wonder why libGOP&demlibs are so eager to embrace a shaky claim pushed by a media we have seen lie&lie again about Republicans to help their liberal masters. All this makes it hard to come to any conclusion but that the GOP establishment thinks that the only way to defeat the virus of conservatism is to set fire to the party& hope that a few elections from now their Boehner-based, crony trough-feeding paradigm will be back. Âżshaky 40 year old charges? A-alleged misconduct is from 38 years ago!!Roy Moore has been a major&polarizing figure in Alabama politics for years. It seems likely that, if he committed the misconduct, the victim would have come forward before now. B-accuser clearly has had a"troubled life". She does not appear stable. Her past reinforces a conclusion that she probably is not telling the truth. C-the other teenagers the Post interviewed donât allege inappropriate touchings. It seems likely that, if Moore inappropriately touched one teenager, he would have inappropriately touched others. D- presumption of innocence - Post found 4 women whom Moore dated as teenagers. His conduct towards all 4 might well have been basically the same. The unstable woman of the 4 might well have "embellished" a la Duke lacrosse.

It isn't proper English to use "good" and Shields and Brooks in the same sentence, Jim. A Democrat, and a New York Times establishment almost Republican being interviewed by a Democrat Clinton Foundation contributor on PBS. A bit lop-sided, no? Brooks said "..on the basic respect for truth, if we can't have some basic respect for evidence, we really do not have a democracy."
There's that "evidence" thing again. I wonder where it is? Seems like if Brooks/Shields/PBS can't have some basic respect for evidence, then they really do not want a democracy. Maybe they prefer the North Korea model, where accusation is enough for your political enemies.
Try again, Jim, there are always more patties in the barnyard.

This 14 minute YouTube points out that the 2018 elections will not be handed to the Democrats on a silver platter.
Emma Green wrote: There arenât many people like Michael Wear in todayâs Democratic Party. The former director of Barack Obamaâs 2012 faith-outreach efforts is a theologically conservative evangelical Christian. He is opposed to both abortion and same-sex marriage,...
Emma Green: Many people have noted that 81 percent of white evangelicals voted for Donald Trump in this election. Why do you think that was?
Michael Wear: It shows not just ineptitude, but the ignorance of Democrats in not even pretending to give these voters a reason to vote for them. We also need to have a robust conversation about the support or allowance for racism, misogyny, and Islamophobia in the evangelical tradition....
... America is still a profoundly religious nation. There are reports that high-level Democratic leadership was not interested in reaching out to white Catholics. And they sure didnât have a lot of interest in white evangelicals. Thatâs a huge portion of the electorate to throw out. So if the civic motivation doesnât get you, let me make the practical argument: It doesnât help you win elections if youâre openly disdainful toward the driving force in many Americansâ lives....

Concerning Jim's argument, I've found higher levels of orthodoxy in bacon wrapped asparagus. Jim said " the fact that govt. isn't to be the moral police, but concentrate on secular matters!"
So, you're saying that the gov. should outlaw feeding babies into woodchippers, beating the elderly to death, s*x trafficking, slavery, public nudity, robbery, murder, counterfeit, torturing children, etc etc? Is that what you're saying?
The gov. Isn't to birth new morals that are apart from the revelation of God, as Regan said it, "our natural inalienable rights have become a dispensation of government." When a government takes the role of God, communism is the only path to tread, "ye shall be as gods"
The role of the gov. is to uphold God's law, to punish evildoers, and to defend the citizens. I would love to hear your definition of "secular matters" can you give a few examples of that?
Jim, this is something in which I can agree with you. However, if your premise is that the moral decline in America is BECAUSE of evangelical involvement then we still profoundly disagree. Logic dictates that evangelicals have always been involved politically in promoting good moral values and arresting the bad in America.
"The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity. I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God." --John Adams wrote this on June 28, 1813, in a letter to Thomas Jefferson.
What is happening Jim is that moral "saltiness" has been leached away from evangelicals so much that we are being trampled under foot:
(Matthew 5:13 KJV)Â Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
What moral battle? It has been shown that the Greedy Old Party is just as immoral as the Demos, except sometimes in different ways. So, the voters might not get distracted from the fact that govt. isn't to be the moral police, but concentrate on secular matters!
Phil Johnson wrote: ...America's moral decline has accelerated dramatically since evangelicals became politically aggressive in the late 1970s....they have been remarkably ineffective when it comes to using politics to reverse America's moral and spiritual decline....
Worst of all, during that same period of time, the evangelical movement has completely lost its spiritual influence, because the evangelical segment of the church has grown increasingly worldly. Evangelicals have become accustomed to compromise. They have abandoned (or else are in the process of abandoning) virtually all the doctrinal distinctives that made them distinct from Roman Catholics and nominal Christians whose faith amounts to a kind of civil religion. Evangelicals have pretty much forfeited whatever real moral and spiritual authority their movement ever had.

On the streets of New York, darkness and violence reigned. Dimas âDaylightâ Salaberrios began selling drugs when he was eleven years old, and by sixteen he had served his first stint at the notorious Rikers Island prison. Dimas saw only one way to survive: by reigning over the streets. He would be the richest, most powerful ruler in the hood . . . or die trying.
Street God is the true story of one manâs dangerous journey through the underworld of crime, drugs, and almost certain death. It was an encounter with the real God that saved his lifeâand then made it even more dangerous. Because that God sent Dimas back down the darkest streets heâd ever knownâwith othersâ lives depending on it. And Dimas had to ask the question: How far am I prepared to go?
A dramatic, compelling memoir full of twists and turns, Street God delves deep into a world from which few ever emergeâand shows how a single spark of light can illuminate even the darkest existence.

Liberals should not be permitted to run for and hold public office and be judges in the United States. Only conservatives should be permitted to run for and hold public office and be judges in the United States. Why should satanic liberals be permitted to run for and hold public office and be judges in the United States?
when you erase renoirs and go to picassos, then you erase picassos to elephants throwing paint on a canvas, then you erase that for human baffoons throwing paint on a canvas, then you have an empty canvas with bobbleheads standing around analyzing the emptiness.... that is what marxism does.
after it erases all meaning and sacredness, all that is left is nothing.
and a nothing mind can be controlled.
reminds me of scripture warning of getting the evil spirit out for many more to come in... better for us to emulate Christ in how we live and view all facets of life... in this life is sacred and all that we do for His glory.
it is there where there is beauty.
I can even see beauty in a man who comes out to stop a mass shooting event in Texas, if his story is true (he had the hat and the toothpick like a good texan), risks his own hide... while any leftist not involved in planning the event would be cowering under the table waiting for a conservative man to save his hide.
its time for Christians to be proud of their Christian heritage and realize they have the answers to all these questions in Christ who is King of Kings and Lord of Lords... for a dying world without answers, do not let your light be hidden under a bushel.
It'll be interesting to see who Pastor Dimas and his flock vote for today in the NYC elections. I'm sure Bill would like to take their guns away. And of course, guns aren't used to abort the unborn in NYC. And hopefully Pastor is preaching repentance to the largest homosexual population of any city in the world.
Dimas Salaberrios is a dynamic teacher and speaker with a passion for seeing the Lord transform lives once consumed with hopelessness, darkness and despair. This unwavering faith led him to fulfill a vision wherein Jesus could show Himself strong and shine the brightest. Therefore, Dimas founded and pastored Infinity NY Church located in the Bronx River Housing Projects.
A church "filled with democrats " as Dimas says, supports his 10 guns on site
1 prevent robbery 2 protect the flock 3 calm people so they are not scared
This morning he advocated Alertness A sound mind Not giving in to fear Walking in faith in our Saviour
He quoted Luke 22:this morning "35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing. 36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one."
His advice Jesus says arm yourself to protect those under your care.
The Fox talking heads acted surprised
Dems do not want " culture war " against guns that protect - "God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" Pastor Dimas' 2Ti1:7 quote
Psalms 43:1 KJVÂ Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.
Dems trying not to wake up the faithful that help put Trump over the top. Of course, we should never be asleep and allow the enemy to sow tares that promote perversity, lawlessness, and sin in a democratic culture. When the righteous become apathetic there will always be evil consequences reaped:
for the nation - Proverbs 14:34 KJVÂ Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
