Collective consciousness to replace God?
Humanity no longer needs God but may with the help of artificial intelligence develop a new form of collective consciousness that fulfills the role of religion, U.S. author Dan Brown said on Thursday.

Brown made the provocative remark at the Frankfurt Book Fair where he was promoting his new novel, "Origin", the fifth outing for Harvard "symbology" professor Robert Langdon, the protagonist of "The Da Vinci Code", a book that questioned the history of Christianity.

"Origin" was inspired by the question "Will God survive science?", said Brown, adding that this had never happened in the history of humanity. ...

Hey John Y, people who claim to be Baptists and also claim to be associated with a group that has deliberately and systematically murdered millions of people, including many, many Baptists, also refuse to place themselves under God's authority. If you don't believe the Roman Catholics have murdered countless Bible-believing Christians, read Foxe's Book of Martyrs. Read the Trail of Blood. But you won't read them, will you John? No, because someone at that Catholic church you go to is giving you a handout, and you don't want to get off the gravy train, do you? You don't care a fig about doing God's will , but rather about doing whatever YOU want to do. So who is really YOUR God, John? By the way, you can also ask the pastor of the Baptist church you attend if Catholics have committed mass murder against Baptists. If he says no, he's a liar and not fit to be a pastor. If he doesn't know, he is too uneducated to be in a leadership position.

5 questions about God-
E 1 -is He Eternal?
T 2  Is he temporal?
C 3 Is he conscious?
K 4 Does he know the world?
W 5-does he include the world?

If the affirmative answers are designated respectively as E,T,C,K, and W, then the following nine disharmonious positions, among others, can he identified:

1-ETCKW: the Supreme as Eternal-Temporal Consciousness, knowing and including the world (Panentheism); represented by Plato, Sri Jiva, Schelling, Fechner, Iqbal, Radhakrishnan, Hartshorne.

2-EC: the Supreme as Eternal Consciousness, not knowing or including the world (Aristotelian Theism).

3- ECK: the Supreme as Eternal Consciousness, knowing but not including the world (Classical & Biblical Theism); represented by Augustine, Anselm, Aquinas, the Protestant Reformers.

4-E the Supreme as the Eternal beyond consciousness and knowledge (Mysticism, Emanationism); represented by Plotinus and by the Cabalistic tradition.

5-ECKW: the Supreme as Eternal Consciousness, knowing and including the world (Classical Pantheism); represented by Spinoza, Royce, and by the Eastern doctrine of Sankara.

6-ETCK: the Supreme as Eternal-Temporal Consciousness, knowing but not including the world (Temporalistic Theism); represented by Socinus.

7-ETCK(W)
8-T(c)K)

You're right, Igny. I've read both the old and new versions, and had forgotten about the disgusting changes that were made until your post reminded me of them. I didn't realize it was BGEA that perpetrated the deletion of crucial material, but it certainly doesn't surprise me. The Grahams have been in bed with Rome for decades.

5 decades past
4 months after the Lord saved me- I sat down with a Halley's Bible handbook &Bible &read thru from Genesis to Revelation- (Halley helped a lot for context)

By 1962 the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association edited the Halley Bible Commentary (subtitled the Pocket Bible Handbook) to remove references to Rome's murderous Inquisition (Wilson Ewin, Today's Evangelicals Embracing the World's Deadliest Cult, p. 57). The BGEA organization acquired the printing rights of the book but was not supposed to change it. Jimmy Robbins of Cowpens, South Carolina, said that Henry Halley's widow was upset at the way the Graham organization changed her husband's work by removing pages 676 to 705, which had described the martyrdom of millions through the papal Inquisition

IL y a assez de lumière pour ceux qui ne désirent que de voir, et assez d’obscurité pour ceux qui ont une disposition contraire.
--Pascal, Pensées, No. 430.

"Dude! The light is there to show Him- ( if'n ya wants) but not wit a BLINDING beam so that dark hearts can go their way to dark pits"
Free paraphrase of Pascal.

all Creation shows Design & Grace on just & unjust it is just a disgrace to want a fake "god"

1 The characteristic most fully shared by the
religions of the world is their incompatibility with each other.
2 To determine which religious position, if any,
is worthy of credence requires serious attention
to Pilate’s question: What is truth?
3 Historical, jurisprudential, &scientific
standards of evidence offer the touchstone
for resolving the religious predicament by establishing the truth claims of Christian proclamation
4 The historical validation of the Christian faith yields an inerrant, perspicuous &univocal written revelation
5 The perennial dilemma of man (corporate
&personal) as to the meaning of existence
finds its resolution in Christian revelation
6 Christian revelation satisfies the
deepest general &particular longings of the human heart.

Pastor Steve of that Baptist Church I attend on Sunday mornings stated in his sermon this past Sunday that those who deny that God exists are acting childish and don't want to be under God's authority but want to be their own gods under their own authority.

""Humanity no longer needs God but may with the help of artificial intelligence develop a new form of collective consciousness""

Atheism is foolishness according to God.
Psalm 14 and 53.

And Who are we to argue with God?

Artificial intelligence 'IS' ARTIFICIAL intelligence!!

When man removes the Bible what he is left with is Liberalism, heresy, idolatry, blindness and ignorance.

The reason why atheists do not know or comprehend God is because God does not provide them with the intelligence to comprehend the truth.

God's purpose is that they will go to an eternal hell and damnation.

Without the Son of God ALL atheists, religious reprobates, Liberals, idolaters such as the RCC, and false witnesses will go to hell.

Only a Remnant .......

Doofuses (or is the plural "doofi"?) such as Brown have fallen for the lie of the ancient serpent, "Ye shall be as gods." The author's protagonist, as a Harvard professor, is of course smarter than the Bible-totin' people who cling to their God and their faith. It was of men such as Brown and the imaginary Langdon that God said, "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools."

"Christianity, Judaism and Islam all share a gospel, loosely, and it's important that we all realise that," he said. "Our religions are much more similar than they are different."

Turning to the future, Brown said technological change and the development of artificial intelligence would transform the concept of the divine.

"We will start to find our spiritual experiences through our interconnections with each other," he said, forecasting the emergence of "some form of global consciousness that we perceive and that becomes our divine".

"Our need for that exterior god, that sits up there and judges us ... will diminish and eventually disappear."

John14:"1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know."

Authority based on power over death.
--
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7a If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also:"

Better authority.
