Franklin Graham Praises Mike Pence for Leaving Colts Game
Franklin Graham has praised Vice President Mike Pence for leaving the 49ers-Colts game on Sunday after several players took a knee during the national anthem and said he hopes NFL owners will "follow his example."

"Three cheers for Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen for walking out!" Graham, the CEO of Samaritan's Purse, wrote in a Facebook post Sunday afternoon. "They were at the Indianapolis Colts and San Francisco 49ers game when the players took a knee. I appreciate that our Vice President has a high standard, and I wish the NFL owners would follow his example."

According to ESPN, Pence and his wife, Karen, left the game after 20 members of the 49ers team knelt during the national anthem with their hands over their hearts. In turn, the Colts stood with their arms locked and wore black T-shirts with the words "We Will" on the front and "Stand for equality, justice, unity, respect, ...

Ladybug, have you downloaded this in its entirety? Just wondering because it downloads, but keeps opening with all the pages blank, with the exception of the first few. Maybe I'll try a different format to see if that makes a difference.

"John Y., we are still hoping that you have a complete separation from the romish church"....and we are still praying that you, Jim L., will be elected unto life and saved from your own trespasses and sins. May God's grace do a work in your heart as well as John Y's.

Our small group has been watching the Gospel of Matthew film (by the Lumo Project) and it has been very beneficial. The compassion of the Lord comes out very powerfully, even towards those Jews who later called for his crucifixion (being coerced by the scribes and pharisees). A vast multitude were healed by him, or fed, over the course of three years, even though he knew the majority would never accept him as Messiah.

I've much to learn, Sister Dolores. Yep!

"Then a pamphlet is put in each telling of Jesus and His love. Whatever is said, is allowed I’m sure." And here lies the problem....the Gospel truth is not that 'God loves you'. It is a command to repent and believe. Dumbing down God's truth so it is more palatable makes truth null and void. Where in the bible did Christ ever tell an unregenerate sinner He loved them? The love of God has been perverted by the likes of the Grahams to make their message non-offensive. It doesn't matter how 'loving' Franklin Graham appears to be, his ecumenism is vile to a thrice holy God. His embracing Roman Catholicism is repulsive. His 'good works' are filthy rags before a holy God.

Telling a sinner God 'loves' them is not found in the bible. Gods love is for His elect, there isn't an example in all of the bible of any of the Apostles or Christ preaching 'God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life!'
" I realized that the family who packed my shoebox had given me the story of Jesus and His plan for my life. The next summer I came, I attended a Vacation Bible School and gave my life to Christ." from https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/shoebox-stories-index/

What's missing? There's no mention of repentance, sin, brokenness over sin, etc.

Hey John UK I'm surprised you have people over there evangelizing. It is beyond rare here in California. I'm part of a college bible study group over here and help to lead bible studies. Hallelujah to that last statement bro. It is a great comfort, not only doctrinally true but a practical reality, hence....

".....but the Lord stood with me.."

Yes there are still a few here who obey the Lord in the Great Commission, having great love for the lost souls of our land, desiring their conversion and salvation, understanding that the Lord has his elect whom he will quicken through the word of God, this last being an important point lest there be despondency concerning a lack of takers. All the while, I am looking for a working of God's grace in hearts, not a mere emotional response. It is the affections that require dealing with, and the Lord is very good at setting those straight.

God bless the work at college, with the Bible class. If we always do what the Lord says, it is enough.

John UK ; 2 Cor 2:3-5 Blessed be the God & Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies & God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.
Thank you brother.

I have also discovered that some tribulation is self-inflicted because of sin (breaking commandments) and in that scenario the only solution is a genuine repentance towards God, leading to a change of lifestyle or thinking. Hebrews 12 explains that quite clearly.

It is a wonderful thing that our Lord is so gracious and kind and longsuffering, who loves his people from eternity to eternity, and who chooses to remember our sins no more.

Such love and grace.
