Is Christianity Dying Out in Europe?

Metropolitan Hilarion, the Moscow Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, has warned that Christianity is dying out in Europe and being replaced with secular ideology.

Speaking at a conference in London, the patriarch stated, “[The] monopoly of the secular idea has affirmed itself in contemporary Europe. Its manifestation is the discrimination of religious vision in the social sphere. Other peoples will live in Europe in the future, with other faiths, other cultures, and other paradigms of values??.”

He went on to say that secularism and liberal thinking is dominating the culture and have been exacerbated by the changing “ethical and religious landscape of Europe,” the immigration crisis, and “military conflict and economic problems in the Middle East.”

In response to this sweep of secularism and conflict, Hilarion called for churches to rally together. ...

I have always opposed to Obamacare because of the increase in costs. I lost my copayment to my doctor, I now pay full price. My deductible is doubled. But, my company will pay for my doctor visit if it's for my diabetes, yah. My medications are covered because the cost is astronomical, yah. But, none of this is due to Obamacare, it's because my company is supplementing my cost , because Obamacare made pre existing conditions the Bain for unwanted people. If the RNC , only offers less , then, think again.

We can find assurance in the fact that God knows who will be saved and who won't. Those who are hardened to the Gospel were meant to be.

An old saying goes, "The same sun hardens the clay but softens the wax".

The bride will continue to flourish and grow and the rest will continue to drown in their sin.

The Bible history shows that periods like this have been here before.

The question is, 'What is God doing these days?'

Psalm 12:1 Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.
2 They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.
3 The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:
4 Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?"

Proverbs 29:16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall."

= Part of the trials and tribulations of the church?
= Has the Lord reduced His grace for the purpose of testing His people?
= Does the current 'crisis' in decline teach the christians and others just how difficult, dangerous and evil things become without God's help?
= Life on earth becomes more like hell than the usual light and dark version. A lesson to be learned?

Job 2:10 ... Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips."

Christianity is NOT dying out anywhere. True Christianity cannot be destroyed, suffocated or stymied. What we are seeing are those who weren't one of us, falling away because of the pressures of life, persecutions and sin. They are the tares, the goats, the pretenders. This is a good thing. We are seeing the tares and wheat coming into maturity.

we are seeing a series of genocide events in the west.

and even though it is sad to see mosques built, to put it in perspective..

I saw a statistic that 90% of migrants in austria are living off welfare.

austrian natives aren't getting these services readily!

so the muslem buildings are subsidized one way or another.

in this sense you might call it the new state religion. churches will no longer

its that way here too.

an unseen hand wants them up.

I remember talk some 4 years ago or so on the saudi funding in some mosques and rewriting of textbooks in US...

the west is being put through a guilt fest where they are taught to hate their heritage, their history, who they are.

this is working effectively on those who are not strong in their faith, people who look to man for their fulfillment.... especially those who have wealth and are insulated from the rape culture of the invaders or the poor that are fatherless and are told to hate their forefathers.

cultural marxism is well on its way and it ain't pretty.

the answer to this would be repentance of feminism, lbgt, all these false globalist idols to turn to Christ and be saved.... and then to live in this new reality to rejuvenate nationalism, to be loyal to their forefathers and reject the suic

One can see that Christianity is fairly dead among certain white groups also in the United States
White evangelicals had better concentrate on their problems with racism, q.v., http://tinyurl.com/yczpp8ov (... evangelicals show their true racist colors) and greed, besides,
Phil Johnson wrote:
... the evangelical movement has completely lost its spiritual influence, because the evangelical segment of the church has grown increasingly worldly. Evangelicals have become accustomed to compromise. They have abandoned (or else are in the process of abandoning) virtually all the doctrinal distinctives that made them distinct from Roman Catholics and nominal Christians whose faith amounts to a kind of civil religion. Evangelicals have pretty much forfeited whatever real moral and spiritual authority their movement ever had.

As to Youth in Asia's assertion that Biblical Christianity is not dying out in Europe, that is sadly not the case.

Truly Biblical evangelical churches preaching sound doctrine are very thin on the ground.

It is sad to see very beautiful and impressive buildings with some beautifully done ritual hosting a minister holding forth on philosophy and social ethics, but not preaching the Bible, to a tiny elderly congregation.

Meanwhile there are some large churches in major cities that attract crowds of young people, or also some ethnic churches, with lots of loud bands and "lite" preaching, but no doctrine.

However, in the midst of all this, cults, sects, temples, gurdwaras, and above all overflowing small and large mosques are springing up everywhere.

That sadly is the picture in Europe, and a small number of very tiny solid and struggling churches preaching sound doctrine, Christ centred exposition of the Bible and with reverent worship.

The Christian Headlines have made a mistake here. Metropolitan Hilarion is the metropolitan or leader of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad, or ROCOR, and he is under the jurisdiction of Patriarch Kyril, who is the leader of the Moscow Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Metropolitan Hilarion is based in the USA, I believe, not in Russia.

I also believe there is another Russian bishop in Moscow who also acts as a kind of spokesman for Patriarch Kyril from time to time, and maybe this was him.

However, I believe Patriarch Kyril has said similar things in the past.

Pretty sure Biblical Christianity is not dying out in Europe. If Christians exist in NKorea, they exist in Europe. But this comes from an orthodox leader, whose theology is on par with Joel Osteen.
