Should Women Who Get Abortions be Prosecuted?
While all pro-life advocates may agree that it is important to protect the lives of unborn children, they sometimes disagree on whether or not the woman who is getting the abortion should be prosecuted.

Even President Trump got in the middle of this controversy when, during his campaign, he said that women who get abortions should be punished. After receiving criticism, he retracted that statement, however.

In an article for RedState.com, Kimberly Ross argues that, in truth, the woman is also a victim of abortion, and that to prosecute women who get abortions is actually to undercut the pro-life message.

Ross cites conservative commentator and podcast host Ben Shapiro on this issue. Recently, Shapiro made a controversial appearance to deliver a speech at UC-Berkeley. In the Q&A section at the end of the speech, Shapiro was asked whether or not he believes a woman who gets an abortion should ...

Read your own news story quote JL, it states she was 'allegedly asked'. It appears you delight in this story because it involves a republican.... the root of the sin is the murder of a baby, which in this case, BOTH mother and father would be accountable, regardless of 'political affiliation'.

Dr. Tim, I'm under this woman should be prosecuted considering who persuaded her to have an abortion?
ABC News Radio wrote:
Pennsylvania Rep. Tim Murphy, a Republican who co-sponsored a 20-week abortion ban that passed in the House Tuesday, allegedly asked an extramarital lover to terminate her pregnancy, according to text message records acquired by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Shannon Edwards, 32, whom Murphy recently admitted to having an affair with, messaged the 65-year-old congressman after an anti-abortion statement was posted on his office’s Facebook account in January....

I suppose good Republicans don't have to play by the same rules as other people do?

Women who have abortions should be prosecuted; they are murderers. Abortion providers should be prosecuted; they are murderers. Supreme Court injustices who unconstitutionally enact laws in favor of abortion should be prosecuted; they are murderers. Legislators who vote for abortion should be prosecuted; they are murderers. All those who advocate abortion, including candidates for public office at any level, should be prosecuted; at heart, they are murderers as well.

There is a study listing several reasons why woman chose to kill their child (for Jim in Nebraska this is what they said was their reason for having an abortion).

The percentage of woman who said it was due to not having access to proper prenatal care

drum roll

ZERO

didn't make it on the radar with a single blip. Don't expect the facts make any difference to Jim.

So, women are attempting to self-induce murdering their child, what's the difference whether they self-induce or whether they go to a clinic? Murder is still murder, regardless of how it's carried out. This only goes to show the lengths evil sinners will go to to carry out their murderous desires. Sick

A nation that allows and embraces such activity should , and will, be prosecuted. God will not bless a nation that bows to Molech.

Jim, since we all know you are confused about abortion and how it is indeed murder, let me just add this. If a woman has a self-induced abortion, then it is still an abortion and still should be prosecuted.
If a woman kills her 1 year old child, it is murder.
There is absolutely no difference except in our perverted legal system.
In your line of reasoning, you think that if health care provided them with abortions, then these poor women wouldn't have to go to such extremes.
McDonald's employee gives birth and tries to flush infant down toilet, D.A. says

http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-california-mcdonalds-employee-birth-flushes-baby-toilet-20170913-story.html

The infant is alive and in stable condition, but the extent of the baby’s brain injuries was not known, Wagstaffe said.

Lockner claimed she didn’t know she was pregnant, prosecutors said.

She has been charged with felony child abuse &inflicting great bodily injury, along with the attempted murder charge, prosecutors said.

The baby had no pulse &was not breathing, so officers performed CPR &rushed the infant to Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto, he said.

Obama was proud to vote to NOT rescue babies like this!!
Evil monster

Molly Redden wrote:
Nearly 44 years after the supreme court ruled that women in the United States have a right to a legal abortion, self-induced abortions are still a significant phenomenon. As the Guardian reported on Monday, every year, there are potentially thousands of women in the US who attempt to end their pregnancies by themselves. Some even succeed....

...those who quietly and successfully terminate their own pregnancies without any physical tells? These cases, after all, represent just a small fraction of women who attempt to induce their own abortions. “We could just be seeing the tip of the iceberg if actually, a lot of women are successful in inducing abortions on their own,” said Daniel Grossman, a clinical professor of OB-GYN at the University of California–San Francisco who researches self-induced abortion. One of his studies found evidence that potentially 100,000 women in Texas have at some point in their lives attempted to self-induce an abortion....

These babies are in the very process of being fearfully and wonderful created by God. And what God has joined together let no man (or woman) tear apart.
Perfect! At the very moment of conception, those little lives are fully human and deserve to live. What a sick and perverted world we live in.

Yes; this was what I thought of as well. Sadly, we live in a world which lieth in wickedness {I John 5:19}, and people are past feeling and have consciences seared with a hot iron {Ephesians 4:19; I Timothy 4:2}. The devil has blinded many from seeing abortion for what it is: premeditated murder.

Good comment bro. Christopher. Indifference is the reason sin increases, and becomes the new norm. When the elect speak out against sin, we are unloving, judgmental, etc. The 'god' of America loves everybody, and is just waiting for them to exercise their 'free will' to come to Him, all the while wringing His hands hoping they will come.

Indifferent is the perfect Word. Seems to me that speaking out against sin was perfectly fine in this country up until OBama's reign of terror, and his agenda to divide and demoralize ripped this country in two. I've never seen the madness and utter hipocrisy going on today, before, and I feel like we're in some sort of a weird, alternate universe where everyone's gone mad and incapable of reasoning and logic. The sodomites have steamrolled over this country like a plague, people are not making sense, hatred, based upon media hype and outright lies is out of control, men and women, and boys and girls are suddenly genderless, the opposite gender, or both, and they're actually being given rights and welcomed to planet earth as some new species, and to top it all off, God is being assaulted, mocked, and basically told that He's no longer wanted or needed.
The end of days is in sight like never before...

The real problem with Ross and Shapiro’s is the understanding of justice and mercy. Ross asserts women are manipulated into thinking, somehow, there is not a baby growing in the womb, therefore they are victims. That’s a weak and fallacious argument. Shapiro focuses on the effectiveness of prosecuting abortion would have on reduction. This is fallacious because we have laws against murder, even though murders continue to happen. Justice demands prosecution, but it doesn’t negate mercy in the process.

Just like what we're witnessing today becoming normalized in society, the heinous act of murdering baby's, along with the barbaric ways in which these murders are carried out are a way of life and no big deal because it's been going on for so long that people have become callous to it, hardened and cold. Not unlike sodomy and the transgender nonsense where people, and even so-called Christians and churches are swiftly giving in to the wickedness that is no longer called sin, but rather, compassion, tolerance, acceptance, and love...our God loves everyone...our Jesus loves everyone, and if you are against us/them, you are a hate-filled, intolerant, divisive bigot who needs Jesus.

however, to make abortion prosecutable, which I imagine it always has been within the states, we would need to politically reverse the unlaw of roe v wade.... use things like the doctrine of lesser magistrates, balance of powers... elect people like the good judge Roy Moore.

in other words apply the gospel to the public arena.

that is, "thou shalt not murder"

"I've never met a woman who was desperate to go into a eugenics center.
its a sick trap." Yes it is, and it's being disguised as 'health care'. Satan uses deception in multitudes of ways, and his minions are busy helping to promote this sick agenda. How horrifying is it to allow a baby to be murdered in the womb?!?

Should women be prosecuted? What does the Bible say? "Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man." Genesis 9:6
