In Growing Trend, Christians Embracing “Biblical” Holidays of Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur

The growing phenomenon of Christians observing the Biblical holidays is bringing Jews and Christians closer while helping to eliminate anti-Jewish replacement theology. This phenomenon is creating a new Bible-based aspect within Christianity, and for some Jews, revealing a previously hidden aspect of the holidays.

Wednesday evening begins an intense period including three major Jewish holidays, starting off with Rosh Hashana (the New Year), continuing with Yom Kippur (Day of Repentance) ten days later, and ending with Sukkot. Until recently, this was a uniquely and exclusively Jewish experience. Now, many Christians are finding spiritual meaning in experiencing the feasts and holidays they previously only read about.

The source for the holidays in Judaism is, of course, the Bible, and many Christians are drawn to the holidays for their Biblical origins. Harriett Shipman Casas grew up in South ...

Totally against the Bible for Christians to observe catholic mass!

Maybe they just observe the biblical parts and they all do what is right in their own eyes.

Proverbs 12:15
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

Too bad John you haven't taken any wise council from all those on here trying to help you out and you have turned to what is right in your own eyes.

The Bible teaches that the 'Jews' will pine away in the enemies land until they repent of their trespass against the Lord. I don't know that they have repented of killing God's Son.
Leviticus 26:38-42
38 And ye shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.

39 And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies' lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.

40 If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me;

41 And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity:

42 Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the LAND.

Deut 29 is very interest to read concerning this especially verse 23 where it talk of the land as Sodom and Gamorah in light of the verse
Revelation 11:8
And their dead bodies...great city..spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Thanks for your accurate focus and refreshing outlook about the matter.

Often what some depict as 'replacement theology', can be better described as interpretational myopia, or short-sighted hermeneutics.
In truth the issue revolves around a sound theological perspective of Scripture as a whole, without prefixed lenses.

Those who hope in the old covenant of Israel will pass away. The covenant was fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ. The fig tree bore no fruit and so it was cursed for our sakes. The whole world lies in the lap of the wicked one and all the kingdoms of the earth are his to freely give. It is arrogance and ignorance to think that Christs kingdom is anywhere in this earth. His kingdom is from above and is in the hearts of all his believers. The Romish kingdom of antichrist has more wealth than all the countries of the earth just google it. It is a false dichotomy to think that Rome is divided against itself. A house divided against itself will not stand. Judiazing can only lead to bondage. The fact that there are no more tribes shoulld make it painfully obvious that there is no more old covenant Land of Israel

And by the way, neither the secular Rome of the EU, nor the religious Rome of the Roman Catholic Church, support Israel.

Pope Francis has just established a Palestinian Embassy for the Vatican City, and would love to see an Islamic state of Palestine, with Israel divided up, and Jerusalem as an "international" city under his control, with the Eastern part as the capital of the Islamic Palestine state.

Like the EU and UNESCO, the RCC under the globalist Jesuit Pope would actually love to see the modern state of Israel completely destroyed and discredited.

So it is totally nonsense to say that modern Israel "is a daughter of the harlot of Rome", as Paul the reformer says.

Paul the reformer is typical of the anti-Semitic positions held by the proponents of Replacement Theology.

God does not lie, He gave a literal promise to Abraham which will be literally fulfilled to his literal people and it is not being fulfilled allegorically in the now totally godless countries of EU Europe, which are no longer Judeo-Christian in their orientation but are fast dissolving in a sea of EU secularist euro zone political correctness, leading to the final Antichrist of human world government in the last 7 years before our Lord's coming, and in fact in
many cases are struggling under the rising tide of the false religion of militant radical Islam. How does that fulfil God's promise?

Your Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and a lot of the Protestant Replacement theology actually says that God is a liar...

Sadly, many of the Protestant Reformers, with the exception of the above Puritans, couldn't quite get rid of the Replacement Theology and allegorical eschatology of the Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox they had been brought up with before they broke with Rome.

I would also add, Paul the reformer:
Jeremiah 32:27-42
Dr. Ice wrote:
What do you think of the modern state of Israel? Hardly a day passes without seeing this small country, about the size of New Jersey, in the newspaper or on television news. Why? Because Israel is God’s elect nation and He is preparing her and the world for "a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever shall" (Matt. 24:21). The emphasis is upon preparing, because we are still in the church age and not yet in the seven-year tribulation.

As if Roman Catholic and pagan holidays aren't bad enough. Too many conservative Christians are listening to people like the Orthodox Jew, political columnist Ben Shapiro who has just positions on some morals but who has publicly in his podcast denied the New Testament that Jesus is the son of God, saying it was invented by Paul who came later. The book of Galatians abolishes all Judaism (the traditions of the Elders are unscriptural) and Old Testament rituals, circumcision, ceremonies, Foods, Sabbath and customs.

The question should be this: where was Israel before 1948? Exactly where it has been since the diaspora. That is where it still is now. Jesus is a redeemer of spirit not a redeemer of flesh. The present day counterfeit nation of Israel will go down in history of one of satans biggest stumbling block for the believers of Jesus. Israel is a kingdom of believers of Gods son not a fleshly geopolitical entity that is a daughter of the harlot of Rome

Deut. 1:10
"The LORD your God hath multiplied you, and, behold, ye are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude."

It may be called hyperbole. There were some 600000 men plus women and children. It is certainly more than the number of stars than can be counted with the naked eye. And there are a lot more people in today's Israel than there were then.

God told Abraham that his descendants would be " as numerous as the stars" present day " Jews" make up less than .01 of the worlds population. God also said all the nations would be subject to Israel. I don't see any of that being fulfilled in present day fake Zionist occult Israel. Only the Christian nations of Europe and Americas name the name of Jesus and all the world is subject to them. God is not slack concerning his promises. He has already kept his promise in Jesus Christ. Anybody trying to add anything to that is deluded by Jesuit theology. Our temple is Jesus our Passover is Christ.

Yes, but the Bible tells us that it will be so, and during the Millenium, the Lord Jesus Christ will rule as absolute monarch, as King of kings, as Lord of lords, as King of Israel, ruling from the throne of David, in Jerusalem for 1,000 years.

The Bible also tells us that during that time, the nations will send representatives to Israel for the Feast of Tabernacles every year.

This is not allegorical, it is literal, and has not yet been fulfilled.

It is in the prophecy of Zechariah, which tells us also that after the deception of the Antichrist, and the desecration of the apostate 3rd Temple that he allowed them to build, and operate, and then broke his treaty after three and a half years, declaring himself to be God, the Jews that are not killed by him, when he is defeated, and the Lord Jesus Christ comes again, the remaining Jews will all see Him whom they pierced and they will mourn, and they will repent and receive Him as their Messiah.

"one new man in place of the two"

For he (Jesus) himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. - Ephesians 2:14-16

If Christians or Messianic Jews wish to celebrate Biblical feasts on a voluntary basis, and there is no tie in their mind with salvation, and they do not condemn other Christians who do not keep them, there is no problem with that at all.

The problem comes if any of these things are linked to salvation, are made compulsory in any way, or those who do not keep any of these feasts are condemned by those who do.

Similarly, those who do not keep these feasts should not condemn those who do.

Remember, also many Jewish believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, find it very uncomfortable in the normal "evangelical" churches, because of the appalling history of anti-Semitism in not only Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, but tragically the very same "evangelical" Protestant and Reformed churches that should know better.

Col 2:16-17 “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.” For a Christian, having knowledge of the all of the Old Testament is essential in understanding the new covenant. But why practice the ordinances in the shadow when Jesus Christ has fullfilled the Passover, First Fruits, The Days of Unleavened Bread, and sent the Holy Ghost on Pentecost? Now we look forward to the gathering of the saints (rapture) being fulfilled in perhaps either Feast of Trumpets or Day of Atonement, and the physical kingdom of Christ on earth in the Feast of Tabernacles. For a “Christian” to turn to the Jewish law/ordinances is as one is turning away from the true figure and into the shadows. Similar to a man and his wife greeting another person on the street, and instead of the man introducing his wife, he takes a picture of her out of his wallet, saying, “this is my wife.”

Actually, reformer Paul from North Carolina, the nation of Israel coming back from 2,000 years of exile in 1948, and reconquering the whole of their capital city is not a mere fluke.

It was in the plan of God. Many of the Puritans actually prayed for the restoration of Israel and their return to their historical land.

Your Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and a lot of the Protestant Replacement theology actually says that God is a liar, because He does not keep the land and physical promises He made to His people in the Old Testament.

Sadly, many of the Protestant Reformers, with the exception of the above Puritans, couldn't quite get rid of the Replacement Theology and allegorical eschatology of the Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox they had been brought up with before they broke with Rome.
