Ken Ham Strikes Back at Paper's Claim He Blamed Hurricanes on 'God's Punishment for Homosexuality'

The article in question states that "Franklin Graham, Jerry Falwell Jr., Pat Robertson, Mike Huckabee and now Ken Hamm [sic] of Answers in Genesis and the Ark Park state without reservation that disasters like Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma are God's punishment for homosexuality."

"Implicit with their accusations is the belief that the sin of homosexuality is the determining factor that God uses to mete out biblical punishment," it adds.

The article, however, does not provide links to what the evangelicals in question have allegedly said on the matter. Ham, who has been a vocal opponent of gay marriage, insists that he did not make such a connection.

Ham, along with some of the others mentioned, have in the past said that the hurricanes should remind Christians that they live in a fallen world. ...

"I. IN General, SIN is the WORST OF EVILS; THE EVIL of EVIL, AND INDEED the ONLY EVIL

Nothing is so evil as sin; nothing is evil but sin. As the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed in us, so neither the sufferings of this life nor of that to come are worthy to be compared as evil with the evil of sin. No evil is displeasing to God or destructive to man but the evil of sin. Sin is worse than affliction, than death, than Devil, than Hell. Affliction is not so afflictive, death is not so deadly, the Devil not so devilish, Hell not so hellish as sin is. This will help to fill up the charge against its sinfulness, especially as it is contrary to and against the good of man."
(R.Venning. The Sinfulness of Sin)

RC Sproul; Sin is cosmic treason.” What I meant by that statement was that even the slightest sin that a creature commits against his Creator does violence to the Creator’s holiness, His glory, &! His righteousness. Every sin, no matter how seemingly insignificant, is an act of rebellion against the sovereign God who reigns & rules over us & as such is an act of treason against the cosmic King.

Cosmic treason is one way to characterize the notion of sin, but when we look at the ways in which the Scriptures describe sin, we see three that stand out in importance. First, sin is a debt; second, it is an expression of enmity; third, it is depicted as a crime.

A good video to check out, the propaganda against, Answers in Genesis Ministries. Another reminder, to praise Christ, as no King but Christ alone, for what is utterly amazing. That He would save many & n't any amen!

While homosexuality is clearly an abomination to God, the danger for Christians lies not so much in overemphasizing the wickedness of sodomy as in overlooking the seriousness of ALL sin. The same Bible that calls sodomites an abomination also declares that lying lips are an abomination to God. May we as Christians endeavor to please and obey God in every area of our lives.

Homosexuality is the result of rebellion against God (environmentalism). Romans 1 tells us this.

The sin of homosexuality has been on earth for millennia. Hurricanes have been a part of the worlds weather patterns for millennia. The fact that both are part of everyday existence of this evil planet demonstrates that the one is not the effect of the other.
If God wants to make a specific point about Sodom and Gomorrah - Then we already have that response on record.

Gen 19:13 For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it."

Gen 19:24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; 25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground."

The nations today have chosen to accept homosexuality and even legalize it in the nations. God's reaction to this "defilement" (Lev 18:24,25) - Is not a hurricane. God's wrath at this time is exhibited to those who can see, as the decline of the nations by incompetence in government and authority, and declension of church and morals, and the abatement of the Sword of the Spirit. The church witness is diminished and weakened.

Is this the final scene played out?
Actually it doesn't have to be.

Don't speak against the sodomite unless you're without sin yourself, is the basic flavor on social media, even coming from pulpits. Have you lied, stolen, swore, coveted, envied, etc.? Then how are you any better than the sodomite? Sin is sin, and we're all fallen.
Yes, and no. Not only are there differing levels of eternal punishment, but God seems to hate the unnatural acts of mankind more than almost anything. Sodomy isn't self contained behind a locked door. Not only do they spread horrendous disease, and are amongst the worst sorts of deviants, but they are steamrolling across this nation like a plague of biblical proportions and spreading their hatred and confusion to todays youth, and the ignorant.

Well said, Christopher. We never hear of a thief, murderer, liar, etc., going to courts to have their proclivities legalized and taught to children in school.

For many years they pleaded and cried for all to understand that they just wanted to love and be loved. OBama granted their wish, and just look at the snowball effect it's had since. How can this nation not be judged for it's defiance as it waves it's fist to God Himself and says, "Hey, we're taking over".

God "turning them over" IS the judgment. Or, leaving them in their unregenerate state is the judgment. That goes for any sin, but in context, specifically to homosexuality.

We should thank God that He hasn't given ALL of us up, "For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another." (Titus 3:3). By the way, 1517, apology accepted--and extended from my side as well.

Judgment fits. Giving them up to what was already in their hearts is not planting within them the lust. They were not punished by making them homosexual, so we need define judgment when we say homosexuality is the judgment.

Devastating Hurricanes — reminder we live in a fallen groaning world as a result of our sin against a Holy God — it's our fault not God's fault," Ham tweeted-
The Bible says in Luke 21
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

.Matthew 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men ...
2 Cor 5:11

One of the greatest battles we face in the all too real and intensifying spiritual war we are in right now is the one over the Righteousness of God's wrath, the Eternal Righteous Justified Punishment of Sin in Hell/the Lake of Fire.

Men who judge God and so wrongly judge God imagine to their own damnation God is far to harsh in His anger over our sins and blind themselves to the Beauty of His forgiveness in the Cross, in the Blood Jesus willingly shed for us, guilty Hell deserving ones like us.

O May God grant us by the Power of the Holy Spirit we who are forgiven so imaginably much love Jesus preeminently with all we are, have and ever hope to be AND unashamedly preach Him to the lost like starving beggars who have found bread might to other starving beggars who are dying of starvation.

The sin of homosexuality--as well as the sin of abortion, the sin of drunkenness , the sin of sorcery, the sin of pornography, and every other sin--will indeed incur the wrath of God, snd His wrath will be manifested by a
hurricane. However, it will not be a hurricane of water. "Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup." (Psalm 11:6)
