Trump Admin. Backs Christian Baker in Supreme Court Gay Wedding Cake Case; ACLU 'Shocked'
The Trump administration has outlined its support for Christian baker Jack Phillips, who declined to make a cake for a gay wedding, and his Masterpiece Cakeshop in Colorado in a friend-of-the-court brief to the U.S. Supreme Court.
"Forcing Phillips to create expression for and participate in a ceremony that violates his sincerely held religious beliefs invades his First Amendment rights," Acting Solicitor General Jeff Wall wrote for the Justice Department, according to CNN.
"The government may not enact content-based laws commanding a speaker to engage in protected expression: An artist cannot be forced to paint, a musician cannot be forced to play, and a poet cannot be forced to write."...

Luke 6:22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
1John 3:13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
I am a tad confused here. What is it that you think on which the pulpits are silent? Seems like we are just seeing the veracity of the Scriptures fulfilled.
What is that you would that preachers sound forth from their pulpits that you think they were derelict in their duty to proclaim?

Yes,and a perfect example of someone who's hardwired by his parents and the church from the time he could understand. Becoming a Baptist isn't breaking free, it's covering your bases, just in case. Perfect example of the fear that system installs in the psyche and exactly why few ever leave.
Good luck with that, Ivan. I've found that in most cases, only God can break those chains. These liberals, the hard-wired religious, and especially the sodomite crew are almost impenetrable and immune to reason, even cold, hard facts. Really something to speak to any of these because no matter what you say, no matter what sorts of bonafide facts you have to back up what you're saying, and no matter how logical, thought provoking, or how friendly you are in your handling of the discussion, they simply won't budge. Frustrating because it makes absolutely no sense, whatsoever. They are simply choosing to believe exactly what they want to believe, even though they can easily be proven wrong, especially when they refer to themselves as being Christian, and God's Word is at play...doesnt even seem to matter then. Now those are some seriously hardened hearts and closed off minds.
I had an argument with a homosexual Unitarian Universalist this week. (Imagine that me arguing lol) he insisted that he was indeed Christian and that he belonged to the true church. No matter which way i went all I got were liberal talking points and attempts at shouting me down. Hard to get through when their validation comes from themselves and scary to think I think he sincerely believes it. I see him in a semi regular basis so you can bet that argument will continue ūüĎć I hope the Trumpster stays behind the baker long term, would be interesting to see it play out.
Even more interesting is how many of them call themselves Christians now, attend church, mass, really, yet claim that anyone who is against their lifestyle is a bigot. One of their main lines that I read on social media is: "Our Jesus loves everyone". Another fine example of people who assign themselves to a church, and claim a title, yet either choose to know nothing of God's Word on the topic, or believe that His Word is fluid, and ever changing with the times of man. Pope Francis gave them hope with his vague, welcoming, inclusive comment a couple of years ago, and they ran with it, once again, the words, opinion, and position of a mere man, regardless of what God Himself has to say on the matter, take precedence, because after all, a Pope is God's representative on Earth, speaking directly through them to tell mankind what it needs to know.
The sodomites are upping the ante in their rage and to spite Trump, as they are on a mission to find, make a request that will secure a refusal of service, and sue. They are the intolerant ones, just like many of those who are blasting others for being racist, are the bigots themselves. Crazy, mindboggling, senseless, irrational days as so many are accusing others of the very same things that they, themselves are guilty of.
Imagine waliking into a shop that advertises and specializes in elegant calligraphy. You have your bible with you and would like an elegant rendition of the 10 commandments on parchment and nicely framed. The shop owner refuses the work on grounds of his homosexuality being incompatible with his beliefs. Would I stomp my feet and threaten legal action, or just move on and find an artist that would accept the job? No big deal, I would just move on, accepting that it's his right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. (I've seen notices to that effect posted in businesses) The issue is that of the sacredness of private property and business. I'm glad to a glimmer of government doing it's job and protecting that sacred right.
Nice to see a teeny weeny bit of sanity- Getting so that basic amenities of life are tainted- An uncivilCivilization opposed by current admin. As Pastor Cooley notes- buying foodstuffs hard to avoid. But Sports tinysa.com/sermon/83117133137
& the fancy sweetbreads are not a must have. And are tainted more & more each day.
Still- one might wish freedom to purchase from brethren- The ADF brief last week noted that Phillips has relied on his Christian faith to guide his work for decades.
"Those beliefs inspire him to love and serve people from all walks of life, but he can only create cakes that are consistent with the tenets of his faith. His decisions on whether to design a specific custom cake have never focused on who the customer is, but on what the custom cake will express or celebrate," ADF said.
Over the last two decades as a baker in Colorado, Phillips has also declined to make Halloween cakes, anti-American cakes, adult-themed cakes, and cakes containing alcohol, among others
A lib Trump classic lib position-
Shocking for fascists to hear the "First Amendment protects the right of free expression for all Americans."
