President Trump has declared Sunday a "National Day of Prayer" for those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Surrounded by leaders from the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army and Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, Trump signed a proclamation from the Oval Office on Friday inviting "all Americans to join us as we continue to pray for those who have lost family members or friends, and for those who are suffering in this time of crisis."
"I don't know when this was done last, but it's been a long time ago," Trump told reporters. "Is that a correct statement? It's been a long time ago."...
Good for Trump. Yesterday during worship at that Baptist Church I attend on Sunday morning Pastor Steve said a prayer for those affected by that Hurricane. And there was a special collection at the end of worship for those affected by that Hurricane. I was asked to stand near the door with a collection plate for the congregation to contribute money for those affected by that Hurricane. The time of passing the collection plate is considered to be part of the worship service at that Baptist Church I attend on Sunday morning because on the screen it states worship through giving.

These things devolve into Ravi Zacharias & Jim Dobson type deliberately omitting the name of the Lord Jesus Christ when we do not pray in our private prayer closet. I will pray for mercy for our country.
The same generic confusion happened when " by the power of the state I pronounce you married " got everyone confused. It is good to step back and clarify.
Thanks mate, brother Christopher. Man Declan gets the giggles listening to r2d2 from Tennessee, Now I've woken to the news a doctor who was in an ad for the vote no to sodomite marriage is now being called upon to quit, and she'll eventually have to, things are heading hell, and knowing will listen
Hey Dave...so, you've been exposing the children to Rodney's voice? Do you think that's wise? I can only assume that it was some sort of punishment, and have no doubt that whatever they were doing, they won't be doing it ever again.
May the Lord bless you, Dave, and continue to use you as a light to your grandson. We all need to pray for all involved. Please tell your grandson that Christians all over the world are wishing him the best.

So true, I was probably being a little selfish considering some of the atrocities committed against children the world over. Blessed Lord's Day to everyone for tomorrow there, today here. Sister Ladybug , brother Christopher and Paul, thanks for being there to talk to. I appreciate it.

So sorry brother. It's hard when children hurt like that. Parents aren't like the parents of yesteryears...lots of love and kindness and understanding go a long way to help young ones heal.
Dr Cairns' message above notes that God looks for a man to pray for mercy- Ez22:25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof. 26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. 27 Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain. 28 And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken. 29 The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully. 30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. 31aTherefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them" - We can stand in the Gap!

I see that President Trump is had a busy holiday weekend.
ABC Radio News wrote: President Trump announced on Friday that he intends to nominate Richard Grenell, the longest-serving United States spokesman at the United Nations, to be the ambassador to Germany.
If Grenell is confirmed, he would be the first openly LGBT ambassador for Trump, according to reports.
Grenell held his U.N. spokesman position from 2001 to 2008, serving under four U.S. ambassadors during former President George W. Bush's administration.
Founders Baptist in Spring is a solid Bible teaching church that hd over 25 families impacted. I am not sure whom to contact. However you can check them out online. They were included in the story here a couple days ago and Richard Caldwell's sermons are posted here each week. They are one of the campuses for Expositors Seminary as well as a solid children's school. So far I have found them to be living what they preach.
I agree with Ivan...but make sure their sound churches, not Joel Osteen-like churches or liberal ones. Ivan, if you know of any good churches that I can support, e-mail me, I'll try to help 'em out, and I can spread the word to others.
Just a thought- if you truly wish to support flood victims begin with the body of believers. Contact some of the churches on here and see how you may be able to help. Our church for one is helping its family first, as it should be, and now reaching into the community.
