Complementarians Issue New Manifesto on Gender Identity
On Tuesday, the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood (CBMW) released a new declaration that reasserts the significance of biological sex and traditional marriage over society’s growing LGBT acceptance.

“We are persuaded that faithfulness in our generation means declaring once again the true story of the world and of our place in it—particularly as male and female,” according to the group’s Nashville Statement. At the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) national conference in Nashville last week, it was endorsed by about 150 conservative Christian leaders—many of them male, Baptist, and Reformed. (The mayor of Nashville, though, was not happy about the name.)

Initial signatories include many CBMW and ERLC leaders; pastors like J. I. Packer, Francis Chan, John MacArthur, and James MacDonald; and authors Rosaria Butterfield and Christopher Yuan. ...

Evil? Really. Check your own thoughts. No saved person has perfectly pure thoughts. Care if we play a dvd showing the thoughts that run across your mind on a daily basis?

A person that struggled with lust or alcohol their whole life is never going to struggle with temptation when they are saved? The same goes for them.

There is a difference between attraction and carrying out behavior because of that attraction. There is a battle until we are glorified.

Or is it saying people can be saved OUT of this?
"ARTICLE 8
WE AFFIRM that people who experience sexual attraction for the same sex may live a rich and fruitful life pleasing to God through faith in Jesus Christ, as they, like all Christians, walk in purity of life.

WE DENY that sexual attraction for the same sex is part of the natural goodness of God’s original creation, or that it puts a person outside the hope of the gospel."

My take on this WAS from 1 Cor 6
"9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11And such were some of you: but ye are washed,but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God."

Is the " hope of the gospel" a gospel as efficacious ?-&then "walk in purity of life" =BrainWashing " of salvation transformation?

This is evil.Article 8 states that a saved person can experience attraction for the same sex.Not according to Romans 1 they cannot. The Authorized version states that they are given over to a reprobate mind.It is a progression in sin and God has rejected them ie they are reprobate. Thats what reprobate means-forsaken by God.

It’s hard to capture the complexities of transgenderism in a concise declaration, but CBMW has approached the issue from a theological, biblical standpoint, relying on what researcher Mark Yarhouse calls an “integrity lens,” concern for the integrity of sex and gender as created by God.

“It makes sense that faithful Christians would start there,” said Yarhouse, author of Understanding Gender Dysphoria: Navigating Transgender Issues in a Changing Culture and director of the Institute for the Study of Sexual Identity at Regent University. “It’s trying to signal what’s going to be within the bounds of evangelicalism, and it will be interesting to see how evangelicals respond to that.” (For more on his research, see Yarhouse’s 2015 CT article, Understanding the Transgender Phenomenon.)

The Nashville Statement, with its clear stances on gay relationships and transgender identity, explicitly expands the CBMW’s central concerns.."
