The stars came out in the middle of the day, zoo animals ran in agitated circles, crickets chirped, birds fell silent and a chilly darkness settled upon the land Monday as the U.S. witnessed its first full-blown, coast-to-coast solar eclipse since World War I.
Millions of Americans gazed in wonder at the cosmic spectacle, with the best seats along the so-called path of totality that raced 2,600 miles (4,200 kilometers) across the continent from Oregon to South Carolina.
‚ÄúIt was a very primal experience,‚ÄĚ Julie Vigeland, of Portland, Oregon, said after she was moved to tears by the sight of the sun reduced to a silvery ring of light in Salem....
"If all people have original sin and Jesus was a human being, then didn't Jesus need to have had a sin nature?
Before we can answer this question, we need to know what the term "original sin" means. This is a term used to describe the effect of Adam's sin on his descendants (Rom. 5:12-14). Specifically, it is our inheritance of a sinful nature from Adam. The sinful nature originated with Adam and is passed down from parent to child. We are by nature children of wrath (Eph. 2:3). So, if we inherit our sinful nature from our parents, then Jesus, who had Mary as a parent, must have had a sin nature. Right? Not necessarily. I believe that the sin nature is passed down through the father. Let me explain.
Some Bible commentators, with whom I agree, hold the position that the sin nature is passed down through the father. Support for this position is found in the fact that sin entered the world through Adam, not Eve. Remember, Eve was the one who sinned first. However, sin did not enter the world through her. It entered through Adam. Rom. 5:12 says, "Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned." The concept behind this is called Federal Headship." (Matt Slick)(CARM)
Hey Tony, hate to break the news to brother Steven, but an eclipse is always cast to the ground, through the leaves of a tree, etc., or anything else with small holes for its light to shine through. Not quite sure why he viewed this as some sort of isolated event and sign when any eclipse throughout creation and man's history did the same and will continue to do so.
The Solar Eclipse Of August 21, 2017 A.D. Which Swept Through The U.S.A.--From Coast To Coast--Had Another Intent--A Definite Message From GOD, THE GOD OF AMERICA; THE LORD JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH IN ISRAEL:
At Least, So Says Brother Steven Ben DeNoon & Others On Facebook...
"Hello everyone. during the eclipse while everyone was looking up i looked down. Behold the shadows of every tree was casting crescent moons, no matter the shape of the leaves."
"what could this mean?"
"In the shadows of every tree you saw crescent moons, Every tree no matter the shape of the leaves. (GOD) The Father is awsome. could this be a sign islam (is) about to attack america? Or is it a sign that america is plagued by the babylon spirit? we shall hold fast and see."
"AND GOD SAID, LET THERE BE LIGHTS IN THE FIRMAMENT OF THE HEAVEN TO DIVIDE THE DAY FROM THE NIGHT; AND LET THEM BE FOR SIGNS, AND FOR SEASONS, AND FOR DAYS, AND YEARS:"--GENESIS 1:14
"THE FOLLOWING IS WHAT...WAS TOLD ME ON &-OR ABOUT +THE ANTICHRIST-/-BEAST OF REVELATION 13‚Äôs+ ‚ÄĒ ‚ÄďBIRTH‚Äď ‚ÄĒ : ‚Äď A] BIRTH-DATE B] BIRTH-PLACE C] PARENTAGE ‚Äď [A] HIS BIRTH-DATE: 1776-/-1777 A.D. ‚Äď [B] HIS BIRTH-PLACE: SOMEWHERE IN +++ROMANIA+++; IN A ‚ÄúBORDER-TOWN‚ÄĚ &-OR ‚ÄúBORDER-CROSSING‚ÄĚ ‚ÄĒ BASICALLY [HE'S A ROMAN-/-ROMANIAN]..."
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins;let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright,
Hadn't heard that one, Jim. Here's another one for you...I can't remember where it was, but a pre-school, or maybe it was a kindergarten, had contacted parents to let them know the kids would be getting out early in observance of eclipse viewing, and citing the date they would need to arrive early to grab them. Some of the parents emailed back asking if the school could reschedule because that day wasn't good for them.

They're a fun experience, John Y.
Chris, it's surprising the the uses people try to put a solar eclipse to,

"The present motion proposes to subordinate the time and resources of the court, of the opposing counsel, of the witnesses, and of the jurors to one person's aspiration to view a 'total' solar eclipse for no more than two minutes and forty-two seconds,'' Merryday concluded. "When an indispensable participant, knowing that a trial is imminent, pre-pays for some personal indulgence, that participant, in effect, lays in a bet. This time, unlike Carly Simon's former suitor, whose 'horse, naturally, won,' this bettor's horse has - naturally - lost. The motion is DENIED.''
Never ceases to amaze me how many things mankind chooses to believe, and all manmade ideas. In fact, the bulk of the nonsense believed today were inventions of man within the past two hundred years or so, or in the case of Islam, what, 1600yrs? Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormonism, Krishnas, 7th day Adventist, whatever. I could think up some nonsense today, go out on a street corner to promote it, and I will slowly gather loyal, faithful followers, no matter what I happened to dream up. I just don't understand people when it comes down to a matter of eternity, and having only one lifetime to get it right. Anything and anyone but the God of the Bible.
The witches amd pagans were out in full force as well. An unfortunate friend of my wife's said this, and I got an email from another who said basically the same: "As the Solar Eclipse approaches, you are being prepared for a game-changing Reset. Approach it as a ‚Äėwiping the slate clean‚Äô moment, when everything goes to zero point. These don‚Äôt come often in life, so take advantage of the moment. Grab the opportunity to set a new direction in your life. Forgive the past and set it free! Whatever you intend, visualize and focus on will be set in motion for years to come."
I'm gonna have to speak to the one who emailed me because her language has been exposing beliefs that I wasn't aware of.
I wonder how long the lines are today to see optometrists, urgent care, and emergency rooms. There was some guy on social media right after yesterday who posted up a picture of his eyes after staring at the eclipse, and they were dark blood red from the damage. Very disturbing and I'm sure there were many others who didn't need the warnings either. I was concerned about children who weren't properly warned by their parents, etc., and I was also concerned about how many used the fake viewers, thinking they were safe. From what I understand, the retinas don't have pain receptors, so people don't realize the damage happening. Mike, I did the same, after reading Jim's link about the binocular trick. I also used welders goggles. Looking forward to a full eclipse. Only 65% here on this one.
This was a reminder for me how God sayd to my black heart LET THERE BE LIGHT. My eyes of my understanding then was opened and I beheld the most glorious thing ever. The glory of God in the Christ. Blessed be His name forever and ever.
Psalm 19 reminds us that the glory of the Lord and His handiwork is seen in the heavens. The Psalmist goes on, though, to say that God's word/Law is what converts the soul. Dazzling sights in the sky, like the sun running his daily race, may show God's glory, but to know Him -- who He is and what He requires of us -- we need to prayerfully turn to His word.
