Texas permanently bans taxpayer funding of abortion

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed today a bill to restrict state funding for abortion insurance.

The new law will keep Texans from having to pay for elective abortions through their insurance plans.

"As a firm believer in Texas values I am proud to sign legislation that ensures no Texan is ever required to pay for a procedure that ends the life of an unborn child,” Gov. Abbott said. “This bill prohibits insurance providers from forcing Texas policy holders to subsidize elective abortions. I am grateful to the Texas legislature for getting this bill to my desk, and working to protect innocent life this special session.” ...

Anyone who thinks woman's health care is taking life away, is self-deceived, doesn't have the mind of Christ, isn't being daily renewed by Christ. As it's evident one is looking at their own sins, with a Telescope mindset. As one is looking at their own sins, from ever so far off mentality, as they try to ration away, in their mind. It's only a little White lie, but our Lord says other wise, on that ever so bad reasoning. As Christ see sin, as Cosmic High Treason, against Him, for He isn't a murder, or a liar either. As He is utterly Holy, Holy, Holy, as the Angels in Rev 4:8, proclaim. Without the Gospel being applied into ones life, through a life that is being changed & renewed, one will perish in their unregenerate state amen.

Spurgeon; There is nothing in ourselves in which we may glory, for He is the one who made us differ from one another. & what do we have that we didn't receive from the God of all grace? Thus how careful we should be “to walk humbly” (Micah 6:8) before the Lord!

"reproductive health services" This is code for infanticide. Why should taxpayers foot the bill for women to murder little defenseless babies? Why should taxpayers foot the bill for 'women's healthcare' slash infanticide? The lies about 'health care' only fool the ignorant.
God makes it clear, anyone who takes an innocent life should have their life taken as well "Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man." Genesis 9:6
Accountability for sinful behavior should not be passed off to another nor should excuses be made; all will stand before the bar of God and give account for every thought, word and deed - no exceptions.

Susan Milligan wrote:
Foes of abortion and subsidized birth control had high hopes when Donald Trump was elected president. They got a conservative Supreme Court Justice in Neil Gorsuch, confirmed earlier this year. Republicans barreled ahead with pledges to undo the Affordable Care Act, including its requirement that birth control be considered an "essential health benefit." And they promised to cut off funding to Planned Parenthood.

That hasn't unfolded quite as planned: the collapse (for now) of the Obamacare repeal bills has left Planned Parenthood and birth control coverage pretty much as is, and no abortion case has come before the high court. States, however, have stepped in to fill the void, with some passing sweeping legislation to protect access to reproductive health services and others adopting laws drastically limiting it....

The trend is partly driven by the same factor that drives states to act on myriad legislative issues: congressional dysfunction and federal government gridlock.

I see that Texas was actually more liberal then Nebraska when it came to abortion, now it isn't.

“The definition of healthcare is to make a person well and to encourage health,” Graham explained. “The definition of a successful abortion is the complete death of the unborn child"
"Abortion advocates automatically go to the far reaches of hysteria and assume the worst with this kind of legislation: that women won't be able to get abortions when they want them. Women have access to abortion but those of us who believe it is the intentional ending of a human life shouldn't have to pay for it."

I remember looking at the bodies of aborted babies while I accounted for their arms, legs, and head. I remember being able to determine if the baby was a boy or girl. How did I justify my work for so long? How are you doing it? I think I tried to really believe that I was doing the right thing...the right thing for those women. But what about those babies? What about those lives that I was a part of terminating? Didn’t they matter? Was it really ALL about the woman and her rights?
I have learned now what I didn’t realize then. It is NOT just about the woman. Abortion is something that affects many people. Yes, it affects the woman; but it also affects the man involved, the extended family, and of course, the child growing in her womb.

I am sorry that there seems to misunderstanding in this debate. I myself am a medical doctor. I am an emergency room physician. in medical practice the mothers life is not devalued. It is standard practice and and a well recognised maxim of obstetric practice that the greater efforts made to keep a mother alive and treat her illness is usually the best way to benefit the health of the baby as its the mothers body thats maintaining the babys life and wellbeing physiologically and medically. It is therefore absurd to suggest the mother wellbeing is neglected as this would result in a worse outcome for baby in medical practice. If a mother was neglected in the way suggested mothers and fathers would soon start suing healthcare practitioners because of the adverse outcomes for the mother
AND baby that would result

Jim, where do you get the idea that Christians or Republicans in general don't value the mother's life? And where is the connection between abortion and maternal mortality rates? I have asked you before and never received an answer, give a some scenario where a women's life is saved by an abortion. I have yet to see statistic to back that statement or even anecdotal evidence. I care about mothers and I am against abortion. If you are so worried, start trying to get more funding and better recognition for pregnancy centers that help women THROUGH pregnancy.

Jim; it's absolutely nothing personal against you, I don't hate you, or wish I'll, against you. But your antics of trying to say that Ladybug is a Joyce Myers type, doesn't have any factual substance, other than trying to cause a stir. By acting out in childish behavior on here, come Jim, you can do better than that. Jim, I have been nothing but respectful towards you. As your own actions are a reflection of your spirit & tongue. Not being under self-control & lining up with Christ, through His word. As you aren't thinking, before what you are typing out & hitting send.

If you were serious about the importance of Christ, through being conformed to His, Holy Word. You would want to hold your tongue & say, O' Lord change me, I don't want to deliberately, sin against You. I want to be conformed & molded, into a Christ lover & disciple. That I would put off my former childish ways amen.

Eph 4:29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

Repent of your sins Jim Lincoln, your continual push of the Satanic agenda has not gone unnoticed, you are not fooling the most High God.
You resort to lies, false accusations, name calling - all of which is sin. You are in dire need of repentance, and of the new birth. Satan is using you for his purposes. The Lord himself would tell you 'Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.'

The two trolls are out in force again today....

To the pastorette lbug and others, I didn't complain about the costless action that the Texas politicians took, but because of the inaction they have because it might cost them some money. They have the abortion problem just about hogtied even before this publicity stunt they took.

Now, I know the mother's life is almost totally unimportant to many of you, but as far as I can see the baby's life has been so well protected in Texas anyway, this seems to be a meaningless gesture. But no matter how much money is save them and I'll let others point that out if there is a savings even. There is an actual problem that Texas is ignoring.

Michael Stafford wrote:
The GOP is often described as America's pro-life political party. In reality, however, the GOP is not pro-life. At best, it's merely anti-abortion. At worst, it's simply misogynistic. Regardless, the Republican Party's concern for human dignity ends the moment someone is actually born. After that, it's the coldness and cruelty of Ayn Rand and social Darwinism, all the way down.

The liberal troll uses his usual tactic in an attempt to divert attention away from infanticide. Dr. Tim's response is priceless, "Politicians aren't the only ones with a propensity to ignore problems. Liberals ignore the inconvenient fact that abortion is a leading cause of maternal mortality"

Not to mention the fact that God hates the shedding of innocent blood, the slaughter of innocent human beings. Jim Lincoln would have no problem if his liberal politicians would kill every infant {that is their goal}, then excuse infanticide by claiming it 'saved the life of the mother'. What rubbish!

John MacArthur; 16. I cannot even conceive how a mother could think of a baby as an enemy. Whether that baby was a product of rape, or whether that baby was in some way malformed, how that woman could think that child in her was an enemy when she has been given the God-given privilege of protecting that little life with all of its weaknesses. Certainly that’s not natural instinct to a mother. She would have to be sold that by a culture that had become decadent.

Politicians aren't the only ones with a propensity to ignore problems. Liberals ignore the inconvenient fact that abortion is a leading cause of maternal mortality. They also ignore the fact that mothers who murder their babies have an extraordinarily high rate of depression. For years Americans have had access to something known as a reverse mortgage. I propose that it is time we introduce the reverse abortion: let the innocent babies live, and execute the parents instead. If that doesn't put a quick halt to the problem of "unwanted pregnancies," I can't imagine what would.

Strange, that the politicians in Texas at least some of them show little concern for this - - unfortunately those power have such a great ability to ignore these problems.
Elizabeth Chuck wrote:
While Texas has the worst maternal mortality rate in the nation, America as a whole struggles, too. In every other wealthy country around the world, rates have been decreasing, but in the U.S. they increased from 2000 to 2014.

In reaction, certain regions have adopted practices to reduce maternal mortality. California is leading the way with the California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative, a decade-old model that gives doctors and nurses specific tools for specific obstetric emergencies — hemorrhage carts for storing supplies in the event of bleeding, protocols for pre-eclampsia and other serious conditions during pregnancy, for example.

The tools have worked: Maternal deaths in California fell to around 7 per 100,000 births by 2013, according to a recent ProPublica story exposing weaknesses in America's postpartum healthcare.

It is good to read of this courageous State Governor of Texas, and the Legislature there, that have made a stand over the protection of all life, especially of babies in the womb.

It is shocking, therefore, to see that in the northwest of the USA, another State Governor, that of Oregon, has made the opposite move, to mandate all taxpayers, including truly evangelical Christians, to pay for abortions through their health insurance.

This is disgraceful. We in Britain, who have an NHS, do it through our taxes, now including, those of us in England, paying for Northern Ireland women to have abortions on our hospitals.

(Abortion is still illegal in Northern Ireland, hallelujah, but our Conservative government, can't yet force it on Northern Ireland, though they would love to, because they need the DUP, an anti-abortion, anti-LGBT rights party, to prop them up, as they do not have a Parliamentary majority otherwise).
