Putin’s War on Christianity
Russia has been in the news nearly every day lately, mostly for the possibility of the current U.S. presidential administration’s connections to the country and its president Vladimir Putin. However, politics shouldn’t be the only--or even the most prominent--reason Russia is in the news.

Christian persecution is increasing in Russia under a set of laws Putin signed last year known as the Yarovaya laws. These laws restrict the freedom of citizens in a number of ways, including specifically restricting Christians’ right to evangelize.

Relevant Magazine notes that, although the laws are billed as anti-terrorism measures, in truth they target Christians who wish to evangelize outside of designated religious locations. The laws even prevent Christians from sharing the gospel in their own homes. ...

Like, of course we're talking about PBS Frontline and not so much of CNN. I suppose they will repeat last night show on some PBS station near you? If not, you probably will be able to see both parts on Putin at this website:

Many people here will like the fact that the first part had --almost-- no comments on Trump.

Frontline's "Putin's Revenge" will air Oct. 25 and Nov. 1 at 10 p.m. on PBS.

You should probably be able to see it on the internet also.

They still don't get what happened. That's why it's called "CNN Entertainment."

Far from just resentment toward Hillary Clinton and efforts to destabilize a geopolitical foe, Putin has nursed "a lifetime of grievances" against America, the narrator intones during the latest soberly impressive production from director Michael Kirk and his team.
"Putin's Revenge" goes on to detail the Russian leader's history as a KGB officer when the Berlin Wall fell, and the psychic scars left by those events before he succeeded reformer Boris Yeltsin in 2000.
Foremost, Putin saw democratic movements rising around the globe in recent years, as well as dissent within Russia, as being fomented by the U.S. according to experts interviewed by Frontline. The Russian strongman -- described as being "obsessed with TV" -- was especially struck and alarmed by images of Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi being beaten and killed by an angry mob....

Putin wars on a lot of people

ABC News Radio wrote:
On Monday, a man with a knife attacked Tatiana Felgengauer, deputy editor-in-chief at the station Echo of Moscow, while she was at its studios. The incident has shocked Russia’s political establishment and prompted angry accusations from some who blame authorities for whipping up hatred against critics of President Vladimir Putin.

the last thing I would want to do with an unbelieving Russian would be to send a typical American evangelical going to tell them that Russia means Rosh and that Jesus died on the cross so that the last generations Christians on earth could bring on the new order military industrial complex. (what else would Jesus do if He was here on earth?) Lord have mercy on us.... they need the actual gospel and so do we.

...does that mean that Rosh Hoshanna began in St. Petersburg?

Sorry for the off-topic, but this has to be addressed.
Dave, the lump of rock, as in your national monument? The lump of rock your leaders sing and dance around for good crops, to catch many antelopes, and to make important decisions at government level? That lump of rock? I would forget all about that unless you want to get stoned by your cave brothers and sisters for high treason. Australia would implode without its oracle. You would all start walking in circles and babbling nonsense, even worse than you do now. Nope, keep it.

When I said about commendable things in the liturgy of the Russian Orthodox Church, I meant only those parts where the Bible is sung or read, whether it be Psalms, OT readings, the NT Epistles or Gospels.

However, I agree firmly with many of the commentators here, that any individual in the Russian Orthodox Church, who has come to saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ by grace alone through faith alone, and accepts the Bible as the only rule of faith and conduct, will sooner or later have to leave that church, and come into the Bible believing and Gospel preaching churches, which would be the truly Protestant Evangelical churches.

This has to be one of the most misleading and inaccurate headlines I've ever seen for a "news" article. I am sorry to see this propaganda from new world order globalists who, before Putin, who is an Orthodox Christian, had no public concerns about Russia. But now that Orthodox Christianity is flourishing, and there is major opposition to the homosexual agenda, Russia is the target of misleading news reports like this. If you want to see a real war on Christianity, visit Palestinian Christians in Israel (at least the few who are left). Or better yet, visit Washington DC.
It is illegal to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the streets, in your work place, or in any church that is not approved by the communist state. Are you sure this is misleading inaccurate propaganda? When this so called anti terrorism law went into effect, Putin's propaganda machine Russia Today made no mention of it! 2Th 3:1, ¶ Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:

Anyone who has ever visited even one Sunday into an orthodox church would know how demonic it is, they start with confession to some saints and end with kissing a picture of the virgin Mary. You can go around the whole place asking people what they believe and NEVER come close to anything resembling the true gospel. Unless your gospel involves water baptism without which no one can receive the spirit, you better avoid it, what I said is true, and if you want to prove me wrong, then visit a local one this Sunday and tell us your experience.

G'day John yurich, how r u mate?
I know you love god.
People in eastern orthodox, Roman Catholicism etc, are grieving God, if you love something you really should do what makes that loved one happy?
God says John, that we're to witness to the unsaved, love them,
But those claiming to be Christian that do what god said not to do, god says we shouldn't even eat with them John.
So we must be vigilant in fighting back against false teachings, and check that we're not worshipping or even eating with such people.

Christopher is right and I also think that if one is left in a false church, they'll be taught false doctrine and actually will be motivated to share a false gospel. Would you want it on your conscience that souls are in hell because you didn't reject a false religion for the truth? How can one be effective for the kingdom if they're untaught? The Gospel truth will make a soul thirst for righteousness and do good works out of love for the Savior - not for fear of going to hell. John Y., you really need to make a decision and stop trying to keep one foot in Rome with the other seeking the Savior. You won't get very far in such a precarious position.
Ditto, Angela

Just this morning I was rebuked by a Christian who invited me to a "Sunrise" service. I asked if the Bible supported such an observation and if it evolved out of pagan worship. I was bluntly told that I have a critical spirit.

Of course, I could not convince him that the reason the church is largely ineffective is that we have meshed our beliefs with the world. I recommended Isaiah 58 to him.

I stand with you Angela. Be ready to find the narrow road a lonely road if you take your eyes off the Via Delorosa road.

Obedience, John...obedience. Real plain, and real simple. You know full well that the majority of Roman doctrines are manmade and foul, being diametrically opposed to God's own Word...the God you claim to have embraced. Time to embrace His warnings and rules as well.

What difference does it make if one who has given their life to Jesus remains in the Russian Orthodox Church or Catholic Church without becoming a member of an Evangelical Protestant Church? If one who has given their life to Jesus attends both the Russian Orthodox Church or Catholic Church and an Evangelical Protestant Church there is nothing wrong with that.
