Religion's Role in Trump's Inauguration Weekend Was Prominent
Church choirs sang, a half-dozen religious leaders prayed and Donald Trump, as U.S. presidents before him, mentioned God in his inauguration speech. "There should be no fear. We are protected and we will always be protected. We will be protected by the great men and women of our military and law enforcement. And most importantly, we will be protected by God," he said.

Many Americans felt Trump's religiously infused inauguration ceremony was noteworthy for a president whose personal faith wasn't a prominent part of his campaign. "Like many Americans, Trump has a variety of ties to organized religion, but it doesn't define him, and he's not well-versed in beliefs and practices," the Deseret News reported.

However, the music heard, Christian leaders who spoke, Bibles used and subsequent church ceremony tied the inauguration together in an overall religious manner. ...

I sure hope you're right, John, but talk about civil unrest should the sodomites entitlement be taken away. They're so filled with hate, even right now, still getting all they want, so I can't imagine if anyone were to start taking their privileges away.

Yes I believe this administration and it's Supreme Court appointees will outlaw abortion at every stage, and reverse the sodomite marriage, and all that's going on as a result of that.

Two well-known religious singing groups performed on Inauguration Day. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir,

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir has performed at five previous inaugurations, for both Democratic and Republican presidents.

It sounded like they sung from those untranslatable tablets Smitty claimed were given by angels.

Mormons? LDS? This shows just how ignorant people are.

What a shame to witness the judgment of God upon a nation. What an insight into the judgment.

People can believe what they want, but God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Christ sits enthroned forever and ever as the Lamb slain. He rules.

AMEN.

Our heavenly Father does not need for mankind to throw Him a bone once in a while. Many believe that if people like Graham toss out the name of Christ, then somehow Christ is being honored. The below paragraph are my thoughts on that. False bridge building is dishonest/evil.

The most dangerous enemy we can have is the enemy that we trust. The enemy we recognize, while dangerous, cannot possibly cause us as much harm as the one who has gained our trust and confidence. Satan can do much more damage as a sheep than as a wolf or as an angel of light, then as the prince of darkness. The untruth that will cause the most damage is the untruth that is closest to the real truth or one that contains partial truth. Romans 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

If someone wants to find joy in what Graham says, then IMO they have to do it using the following logic - only.

Phil. 1:18 What then?notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

Maybe it would be helpful if someone would quote exactly what Graham said that was offensive. I was not offended by what I heard, so maybe I missed something.
btw, rain is way more often a blessing in Scripture, to address some comments on the weather issue. And the lack of it a curse.
thank you Mike!

an opportunity that has come to the American church, I mean, to those who have repented of their idolatry and have stood firm in the midst of deception and adversity. a brief respite and time to affect change for good may have been given.

and perhaps our Heavenly Father is preparing the hearts of the younger generations for the gospel of Christ after being at the hands of the atheists for so long. Just as the Jesus movement of the 60's came out of these same leftists and their druggie culture.

they are up to 100 gender identities, how frustrating for a young person just trying to get a job and settle down, surrounded by such insanity. we have the answers in the bible!

there's a reason why they are holding back sessions and other nominees.... praying!

I think it's pretty easy to sound Christian, simply claim you are, tell everyone you believe in God, walk around with a bible, and read scripture.
The truth though, lies beneath, not only in the fruits of daily life, but the personal beliefs, and exposed comprimise of God's Word. When anyone claims we have the same goals, and worship the same God, that gives me pause, and when anyone sends the newly converted to churches that preach and teach a false Christ, that gives me pause. When anyone aligns themselves with false teachers, claiming to be of the same family, that gives me pause.

I'm sorry, but what's the difference with this bulldust and going to ya local Roman Catholic Church on Sunday?
Are we in,or are out?
Rcc mention Jesus and god also at the end of some of their prayers!
Each to their own, but there was nothing Christian about it.

"Maybe it would be helpful if someone would quote exactly what Graham said that was offensive. I was not offended by what I heard, so maybe I missed something." I would not say it was necessarily offensive, I would say it was untrue. Graham stated rain was a sign of God's blessing, implying God was blessing America with Trump as President, that the inauguration had God's blessings upon it with the presence of rain. From Graham, "Mr. President, in the Bible, rain is a sign of God's blessing. And it started to rain, Mr. President, when you came to the platform," said Graham. "And it's my prayer that God will bless you, your family, your administration, and may He bless America." So, Trump's coming to the platform coupled with rain means God is blessing him/America? That seems to be the implication here.
Will God bless a nation that continues to practice idolatry, immorality, and murder of the innocent? Seems highly unlikely.
From Graham's FB page, "... Today is also a celebration of God’s blessing and mercy on the United States of America. We need to make prayer for our leaders a priority and seek His wisdom, His direction, and His favor as individuals and as a nation."

By the way, my comment has nothing to do with any of the speakers/attendees, but just speaking freely of, and referencing God, etc, which seems makes many angry these dark days.

Brother you never know what words our God will give us that may bring a sheep lost in error back home. Be careful not to judge before the time. Ananias argued with the Lord about being sent to Saul and thank Goodness he humbled himself and obeyed. Now we have a persecutor turned preacher par excellence!
I leave you with this: James 5:20 KJV  Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
Someone did this for me and maybe for you. It's only fair that we pay it forward.
Thanks for your thoughts, Carl, Lord willing, will give them some consideration. God bless.

Yes, it was refreshing to hear prayers end with "In Jesus' Name."

One last thing before I call it a day. Ironically our Lord Jesus was one of many messiahs on the scene when He walked up and down Palestine. People got to compare the REAL DEAL with the false; and at the end He was crucified on the cross as false and an impostor; lumped in with the rest of us criminals. But no cross, no crown. I maybe sometimes lumped in with the hypocrites but faith still comes by hearing... ...and how shall they hear without... YOU and me.

There have been some interesting comments on this thread. I guess my initial thought on the news item, and seeing it all on TV, was that I was glad to see the polar opposite of what we've seen and heard over the past 8yrs. I saw people who couldn't care less about what's politically correct these days, I saw people who couldn't care less what the PC crowd, the cupcakes, snowflakes, and the like, thought of what was being said, and what was happening, and most importantly, I heard God Almighty and His Word being spoken of freely, thanks being given, and His being "placed back" onto the throne, as well as respect and reverence given that the liberal and Atheist crowd have worked so hard to destroy and even outlaw.
That was a long winded way of saying that I simply was really glad to hear people speaking so freely of our God, giving Him the thanks He well deserves, lifting Him up, and not caring one bit what anyone else thought about it, as they've tried so hard to erase Him from the minds this generation. Just nice to have heard God being at the center of attention where He belongs.
