Top Bishop: Europe Will Soon Be Muslim Because of Our Stupidity
Everyone in Italy and the rest of Europe will “soon be Muslim” because of the country’s “stupidity”, a prominent Italian archbishop has said.
Monsignor Carlo Liberati, Archbishop Emeritus of Pompeii, said that Islam will soon become Europe’s main religion thanks to the huge number of Muslim migrants alongside the increasing secularism of native Europeans.
Speaking to Italian Catholic journal La Fede Quotidiana, the archbishop said: “In 10 years we will all be Muslims because of our stupidity. Italy and Europe live in a pagan and atheist way, they make laws that go against God and they have traditions that are proper of paganism.
“All of this moral and religious decadence favours Islam.”...

From what I've seen, Steve's defense of Roman Catholocism seems to be defined and dictated by the good works they do. Seems like good people, and good things, according to worldly standards, tips the balance in their favor, not matter what doctrines they choose to believe and practice, or what doctrines the church itself believes and teaches. Seems like being a good person will outweigh their ignorance and/or disobedience on the day of judgement. I think Steve also seems to believe that, though wrong, they all mean well, so that will count for something, and the mere fact that they have the faith to believe in those wrong things, will be enough to save them because they meant well. This is the logic I've gleaned from his comments over time. I can also quote him, pretty much verbatim, from years ago: "I believe Roman Catholics are saved...they just don't know how, or when it happened".

How do you understand the words "neither indeed can be" in the following texts?
Romans 8:7-9 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. (8) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. (9) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
If the "carnal mind" is the state of man before conversion, he is "in the flesh"; he is not subject to God's law, neither can he be subject to God's law. In other words, he is at enmity with God's law and cannot keep the law even if he tried to.

Nik, the simple gospel command is to repent, believe on Christ's sacrifice for sin, receive Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Even simpler, "Come to Jesus that ye might have life."
The sinner is fully responsible for how he reacts or responds to the gospel commands.
If men perish in their sins, they will never be able to blame God for their eternal loss.
