Atlanta pastor criticized for Carrie Underwood performance
An Atlanta pastor is facing criticism after letting Carrie Underwood, a country superstar who has voiced support for gay marriage, perform at an evangelical conference he founded.

Underwood's presence at Passion 2017 didn't sit well with Wesley Wildmon, outreach director for the American Family Association, a Christian nonprofit that describes itself as pro-family. Wildmon shared his frustrations in an open letter to the Rev. Louie Giglio, who started the conferences geared toward young adults two decades ago.

“I was very frustrated that you would allow her to help lead thousands of people in worship. My frustration quickly turned to disappointment and then to sadness. Carrie Underwood encourages and supports homosexual marriage which the Word of God does not (1 Corinthians 6:12-20),” Wildmon said in the letter. ...

Christopher, all is well. Pray everything is well your way? GS sends his greetings. Work has him preoccupied for the time being.

Adriel, there is a conflict of interests.
It's interesting how, even in shows like Andy Griffith, there was compromise from season to season...the later episodes have the characters smoking cigarettes, drinking, gossiping, winking at sin (Barney had been looking at porn, another character had written a letter about the see-through attire of the women in the big city,) and on an on...even Aunt Bea drinks wine.
Aunt Bea,at one point, wouldn't even have used rum in a rum cake.
Hollywood and Christianity are opposites and neither needs the other.

The gospel is not a happy feel good moment like a calendar with puppies. But, many in the American church and individual Christians look at salvation as a moral transformation process like est from the the 1970's ,only no one gets called bad names and everything is permitted and everyone get to heaven. The American church is like a marching band stuck in a one way alley, the only saved are those in the band.

As bad as this is, I am still also saddened by the amount of professing Christians who will go see the latest movies or dress their kids up like Star Wars characters or superheroes and think that it's all in good fun and harmless. They can quote more movie lines and song lyrics than scripture, all while sitting under the teachings of goatherders. These are the same people that attend these events put on by the Evangelical Industrial Complex... oh, and they have their own movies too ( The Resurrection of Gavin Stone comes to mind!)

Millennials or those who go listen and chant at the Passion conventions do not have any problems with sodomite "whatever". Besides, David Crowder brags about his band blowing into a hotel bar and drinking it dry. This is the same conference that'll have John Piper or Beth Moore or whoever else is hip and selling books in the lobby for Crossway or B&H or Zondervon show up and preach.

I am not entirely sure whether you can actually find a person in the entertainment industry who does not support Sodom and Gomorrah. It all seems to be very queer from Hollywood down.

I believe it is right to say that the old church from beginning of 20th century back did not go anywhere near the theatre community. They seem to have perceived a conflict of interests.

There is so much to be said here but one word sums it up and that is apostasy.

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. -3 John 1:4 It's getting harder to find many that walk in the "truth" of the Word, as in the 1st century. John was excited to find some.
