Nativity Scene Could Offend Muslims, Priest Says

A priest in Italy has caused uproar after announcing there would be no Christmas nativity scene at the local cemetery this year because it could offend Muslims and atheists.

Fr Sante Braggiè said there would be no crib in the cemetery in the northern city of Cremona because it may anger people of others faiths or none whose relatives are buried there.

“A small corner of the cemetery is reserved for Muslim graves,” Fr Braggiè said. “A crib positioned within sight of them could be seen as a lack of respect for followers of other faiths, hurt the sensibilities of Muslims, as well as Indians and even atheists.” ...

MS . . Take note of SteveR's response to remarks I directed to you earlier on in this thread
regarding RC Clergy Abuse Victims in the context of forgiveness . .

MS – re: Mike's comment:
“It's similar to clinging to a spirit of unforgiveness, which allows the perpetrator to have power over the emotions of the victim.”

My Response:
Analogy fails. Fact: Shameless RC apologists & their sympathizers LUV to play the forgiveness card in order to SILENCE VICTIMS of clergy abuse crimes
and dissuade them from taking legal action against their perpetrator.

SteveR writes . .
“OK, so you aren't ready to forgive.

Steve R insuniates that I was abused.
For the record . . I have no one to forgive. I was NOT abused by a Catholic priest, but MANY were,
mostly boys / young men. Their own experts conclued that “80% of the abuse was homosexual in nature.”

Also . . from the impact statements made by victims of clergy abuse crimes which I have read,
pursuing litigation against the priest who abused them empowered them.
No longer were they the VICTIM.
For them it had a cathartic effect, allowing them to take control of and move on with their lives.

ca·thar·sis
A release of emotional tension, as after an overwhelming experience, that refreshes the spirit.

MS . .

These so-called Christian leaders have joined themselves to the HARLOT. We are NOT to follow blind leaders who are themselves ignorant of the TRUTH!

Christian apologist & former RC priest Richard Bennett once again sounds the alarm in Zion . .

1) The Gospel According to ECT
“ . . . motivated by the desire to face important moral issues together, the authors of ECT flatly state that Evangelicals and Catholics are one in Christ, and that all are truly Christians.

Compounded Endorsement of Rome
On November 12, 1997, a second document entitled, “The Gift of Salvation,” was signed and published by Evangelical and Roman Catholic leaders. It is also called “Evangelicals and Catholics Together II.”

Its expressed intention was to demonstrate the “common faith” of Evangelicals and Roman Catholics, and further, to “acknowledge one another as brothers and sisters in Christ.”

Beware of the leaven of RC ecumenical/interfaith/papal apologists.

In our day, when the false ecumenism of papal Rome is in full swing,
it is imperative that true believers take a bold and unapologetic stand against Roman Catholicism.

1) As we watch the Vatican we can see a seductive strategy for uniting all Christians. We must not be misled. Rome has not changed its position on things that really matter! Instead they take advantage of professing Christians who lack discernment or who are unwilling to contend for "the faith."
Tragically, the evangelical community continues to move away from sound doctrine for the cause of unity. This only fuels the fires of ecumenism.
When church leaders are willing to suppress doctrinal truth they are allowing the walls that separate the church from the world to come down. Doctrine is what divides believers from unbelievers. While unity and brotherhood sound wonderful to a hostile world full of fighting and killing, the Bible condemns any unity that is not founded in God’s truth."

Some names of so called 'leaders' who declared unity with Rome.
The Grahams
J. I. Packer
Al Mohler
Os Guinness
Bill Bright.
Mark Noll.

Many more who signed ECT and Manhattan Declaration.

"But though all the heresies and schisms which have existed from the beginning belong to the kingdom of Antichrist, yet when Paul foretells that defection will come, he by the description intimates that that seat of abomination will be erected, when a kind of universal defection comes upon the Church, though many members of the Church scattered up and down should continue in the true unity of the faith. But when he adds, that in his own time, the mystery of iniquity, which was afterwards to be openly manifested, had begun to work in secret, we thereby understand that this calamity was neither to be introduced by one man, nor to terminate in one man, (see Calv. in 2Th 2: 3; Dan 7: 9). Moreover, when the mark by which he distinguishes Antichrist is, that he would rob God of his honour and take it to himself, he gives the leading feature which we ought to follow in searching out Antichrist; especially when pride of this description proceeds to the open devastation of the Church. Seeing then it is certain that the Roman Pontiff has impudently transferred to himself the most peculiar properties of God and Christ, there cannot be a doubt that he is the leader and standard-bearer of an impious and abominable kingdom.”

Sounds pretty much like what people say on here

Calvin on the office of Pope:

"To some we seem slanderous and petulant, when we call the Roman Pontiff Antichrist. But those who think so perceive not that they are bringing a charge of intemperance against Paul, after whom we speak, nay, in whose very words we speak. But lest any one object that Paul's words have a different meaning, and are wrested by us against the Roman Pontiff, I will briefly show that they can only be understood of the Papacy. Paul says that Antichrist would sit in the temple of God, (2Th 2: 4). In another passage, the Spirit, portraying him in the person of Antiochus, says that his reign would be with great swelling words of vanity, (Dan 7: 25). Hence we infer that his tyranny is more over souls than bodies, a tyranny set up in opposition to the spiritual kingdom of Christ. Then his nature is such, that he abolishes not the name either of Christ or the Church, but rather uses the name of Christ as a pretext, and lurks under the name of Church as under a mask. ..."

To be continued

Now a person visited my former church and mentioned that he was going such tracts on pews of his former Romish Church. I'm not quite sure about that something like this street preacher shouting there is no Santa Claus. If you're good with one on one contact, that would certainly be the way to go, or even if you can get them to watch a video such as, ]]http://tinyurl.com/hlbpj2c (Catholicism Crisis of Faith (54 Minute YouTube video)) done by James McCarthy. imo-If you have been reading between the lines John, we have a group of posters that have been estranged from their Catholic families. Their own families wont associate with them for leaving the RCC, so telling them all Catholics aren't that way will only infuriate them more.

also imo- The families didn't associate with them much before either. Just the leaving the RCC gave a reasonable excuse to cut them out w/out guilt. In fact, they might never leave the RCC for fear of having to associate with these anti RCC posters again.

Too bad.
Our disgust for the cult of Rome is because it has a death grip on loved ones who are perishing with a false hope of a sacramental salvation.
To defend, try to silence, or be jocular about a religion that blinds people from the truth of God's Word is deplorable.
Well said sister. RC apologists are experts at bullying . . they want to control the narrative. They long for the good ole days of the INQUISITION when they could SILENCE their detractos/dissenters permanently.

As C. H. Spurgeon said:

OK, so you aren't ready to forgive. But you let them own you. Look at yourself, what are you contributing here? So a Priest doesn't want to offend Muslims and he is willing to give up some traditions and idols for the sake of someone else? Big Deal. The kindness a RCC Priest wanted to offer some refugees shouldn't set you off into another one of your day long slander vendettas

In this way, they effectively transfer their collective guilt to the victim, who they maintain is obliged as a Christian to forgive his abuser and the Bishop enablers who transferred predator priests and covered up their vile crimes.
In that way, they think to absolve themselves of their perverse crimes and transfer the guilt to the victim.
The RC “church” is in damage control mode. They seek only to preserve their image from further SCANDAL and limit their liabilities.
They have no qualms about throwing the victim under the bus and make no apologies for their unChristian conduct. No accountability & no justice for the victim!
Utterly contemptible!
The FACT is they have been COMPELLED to pay VICTIMS of clergy abuse big bucks! The bad light these high profile cases put on the “catholic church"
is greatly impeding their ability to advance their ungodly ecumenical agenda.
Praise God!

The "christ" of Catholicism is not the Christ of God and is impotent to save, Thus in vain do they look to Mary, the merits of saints, and their own works rather than looking to Jesus Christ and Him alone.
To deny the finished work of Christ as sufficient to the saving of souls is to effectively deny Christ!
How God-insulting, Christ-dishonouring and soul damning is their gospel, which is no gospel at all!
- Galatians 1:6-10
They are under the anathema of God!
The Statement of Faith of the Catholic Church(Apostles and Nicene Creeds) states "We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God". That is the biblical and historical Jesus the Catholic Church believes in and worships. I have a lady friend who attends that Baptist Church I attend on Sunday mornings in the small town I reside in and her Catholic Father passed away last week and she believes that he trusted in Jesus as his Lord and Savior and is in Heaven praising the Lord Jesus Christ. My deceased Father who was Catholic embraced Jesus as his Lord and Savior in a foxhole in New Guinea during World War II. He must have learned that from the Catholic Church.
