Pope warns media over 'sin' of spreading fake news
Media that focus on scandals and spread fake news to smear politicians risk becoming like people who have a morbid fascination with excrement, Pope Francis said in an interview published on Wednesday.

Francis told the Belgian Catholic weekly "Tertio" that spreading disinformation was "probably the greatest damage that the media can do" and using communications for this rather than to educate the public amounted to a sin.

Fake news stories happened in Europe before they did in this country.

As seen in this video the problem, Franny was addressing was really aimed at an Italian audience, but of course fake news a lot of it instigated by Russia is a problem in a lot of countries. The PBS News Hour which this segment was taken from, had a couple of more stories in it related to this topic.

So, again, one has to give up to Franny on this topic even if we give to the ]]The Papacy.

Article: The Pope’s bizarre rant about eating faeces makes me wonder if he should retire

Excerpts:
The context to these edifying refections is the debate about the spread of disinformation or ‘fake news’ by propaganda outlets. But Francis doesn’t seem to be making any distinction between the deliberately concocted fantasies circulating on Facebook or Russia Today and news stories he considers ‘slanderous’, by which I suspect he means reports that criticise him.

Some points worth bearing in mind:
• The Pope who denounces ‘disinformation’ is doggedly reluctant to provide much-needed information about his own policies. The four cardinals who submitted a document (known as a dubia) asking him to clarify his evasive stance on communion for the divorced-and-remarried have been ignored.

• Talking of fake news, Francis’s right-hand man, Fr Antonio Spadaro SJ, has been caught using sock-puppets to attack the aforementioned cardinals.

It is common knowledge that re: CLIMATE CHANGE, which the pope preaches as gospel, is quite happy to have those scientists who oppose it silenced.

And Pray Tell, Who From Hell Has Been Satanically Sinning For Mirad Of Millenia: By Puking Out The Fake & Phoney "News" That The Lord Jesus Christ SINNED When He Went Off To The Temple At Jerusalem When He Was 12 Years Old !

Yep ! That's What The Satanic Roman "Catholic" Cult Of Popish "Jesuitic" Vaticanism Believes & Teaches About When Jesus Went Before The Doctors At The Temple, As Recorded In The True King James Holy Bible:

"And When He (Jesus) Was Twelve Years Old, They Went Up To Jerusalem After the Custom Of The Feast...

The Child Jesus Tarried Behind In Jerusalem; And Joseph And His Mother Knew It Not.

But They, Supposing Him To Have Been In The Company, Went A Day's Journey; And They Sought Him Among Their Kinsfolk And Acquaintance...

And It Came To Pass, That After Three Days They Found Him In The Temple, Sitting In The Midst Of The Doctors, Both Hearing Them, And Asking Questions...

And His (Jesus') Mother Said Unto Him, Son, Why Hast Thou Thus Dealt With Us ? Behold, Thy father And I Have Sought Thee Sorrowing.

And He (Jesus) Said Unto Them, HOW IS IT THAT YE SOUGHT ME ? WIST YE NOT THAT I MUST BE ABOUT MY FATHER'S BUSINESS ?

AND THEY UNDERSTOOD NOT THE SAYING WHICH HE SPAKE UNTO THEM."--LUKE 2:42-50

Go! Pope! Go! Pope! --- at least in this case
David Brooks said or, wrote:
Somebody wrote a story about me where I allegedly called for Donald Trump’s assassination. And it was a long 1,500-word, very carefully written piece of reportage, where I allegedly gave an interview to a radio station that doesn’t exist.

And it was like being in a different, alternative — alternative universe in a novel, like some other novel, when, suddenly, the effects come back and hit me in real life.

And what’s troubling is the professionalism with which it’s done and how distrust of the media then leads to this extreme naivete, where people will believe anything.

Leo the ? Probably the 10th you're referring to. This is what we read in Wikipedia:
"He is probably best remembered for granting indulgences for those who donated to reconstruct St. Peter's Basilica, which practice was challenged by Martin Luther's 95 Theses. He seems not to have taken seriously the array of demands for church reform that would quickly grow into the Protestant Reformation."
In that sense every Pope helped on the Reformation! Derrr!

The popes of Rome are awash in the blood of the martyrs and saints.
Their blood-lust and murderous campaigns are well-documented in the unholy annals of Roman Catholicism . .

1 ) “Lecky, in his two-volume classic History of European Morals (1911) wrote:

“It would be impossible to conceive a more complete transformation that Christianity had thus undergone, and it is melancholy to contrast with its aspect during the Crusades the impression it had once more justly made upon the world, as the spirit of gentleness and of peace encountering the spirit of violence and war.'
The church was fully converted to the Roman Empire. The ministers – pope, bishops, priests – denied the beatitudes by proclaiming bloodshed as its official teaching. The ancient creed that upheld the sanctity of life was abandoned.”

I join sister MS in standing with you as well sister JA. It's odd how 'steveR' claims to be 'reformed', yet he defends the RCC and attacks and falsely accuses ALL who speak truth against this Satanic religion. It's evident he is working for his father as he accuses the brethren almost on a daily basis.

Yes, Peter was an apostle; there is nothing in the Bible that supports any office of 'popery'. It is a man made teaching and tradition of a dead religion that seeks to twist God's holy word to fit their fleshly traditions. The two RCC trolls who frequent these boards do so for a reason.

The office of the 'pope' is indeed a type of anti-Christ office. They claim to be the vicar and head of the church. Isn't that prideful? Who is the true Head but Christ? Only the deluded would believe and accept such nonsense.

The popes of Rome are ALL antichrists!

Christians in truth are in no doubt as to who the popes of Rome ALL are !
As Martin Luther wrote to a friend, “We here are of the conviction that the papacy is the seat of the true and real Antichrist. . . .
Personally I declare that I owe the Pope no other obedience than that to Antichrist.”

The Popes claim the title of Vicar of Christ, which means “substitute Christ.”

The word antichrist doesn’t just mean “against Christ“, it means “in place of Christ.”
