Jeffress: Every Pastor, Christian Must Be Involved in Politics
Pastor Robert Jeffress, leader of the influential 12,000-member First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, said every Christian and pastor must get involved in politics, and that "whenever there was a need for a great change it was pastors who led the way" in America.

"Many people think that pastor should not get involved in politics, that their responsibility is only to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ," said Jeffress on his program, "Pathway to Victory," after telling the viewers that many people have ask him why he is getting so involved in politics, especially in this political cycle.

"When you look at American history, whenever there was a need for a great change, it was pastors who led the way," he said. "It was pastors who led the way with the American Revolution, the Black Robe Regiment. It was pastors who led the way for the abolition of slavery. And it was pastors who were at the ...

Mike, if I complained about political activity has almost entirely been directed at pastors. Jeffress unfortunately is basically a spiritual brother to a conservative Unitarian ❗👎

I have often quoted from the following article--but--I don't think that I ever used this quotation from it. I certainly should have, if I didn't. 👍

Phil Johnson wrote:

Personally, I think the tendency to seek legislative remedies for every social ill is one of the absolute worst tendencies of contemporary secular society, and it disturbs me greatly to see Christians more or less follow that pattern blindly. To borrow a thought from the title of John MacArthur’s least-popular book ever, Government Cannot Save Us. The only power that can truly and permanently rescue human society from its own spiritual ills is the transforming power of gospel of Jesus Christ. And that happens through the regeneration of individual human hearts, right? We need to remind ourselves of that fact often, and put more of our energies into the task of evangelism....

I HEARD A SERMON YESTERDAY ON "SIDE-LINE-CHRISTIANS" WHO "SAY & DO NOT": THEY'RE HYPOCRITES !

THE TRUE KING JAMES HOLY BIBLE WORD/WRIT OF GOD IS DISTINCT, EXPLICIT & SUCCINCT:

"LET EVERY SOUL BE SUBJECT UNTO THE HIGHER POWERS. FOR THERE IS NO POWER BUT OF GOD: THE POWERS THAT BE ARE ORDAINED OF GOD.

WHOSOEVER THEREFORE RESISTETH THE POWER, RESISTETH THE ORDINANCE OF GOD: AND THEY THAT RESIST SHALL RECEIVE TO THEMSELVES DAMNATION...

WHEREFORE YE +++MUST+++ NEEDS BE SUBJECT, NOT ONLY FOR WRATH, BUT ALSO FOR CONSCIENCE SAKE.

FOR FOR THIS CAUSE PAY YE TRIBUTE ALSO: FOR THEY ARE GOD'S MINISTERS, ATTENDING CONTINUALLY UPON THIS VERY THING.

RENDER THEREFORE TO ALL THEIR DUES: TRIBUTE TO WHOM TRIBUTE IS DUE; CUSTOM TO WHOM CUSTOM; FEAR TO WHOM FEAR; HONOUR TO WHOM HONOUR (CHOOSE/ELECT/VOTE TO WHOM CHOOSE/ELECT/VOTE)."-ROMANS 13:1-2&5-7 !

"KNOW YE NOT THAT WE SHALL JUDGE ANGELS ? HOW MUCH MORE THINGS THAT PERTAIN TO THIS LIFE ?"-1 CORINTHIANS 6:3 !

*HOW MUCH MORE SHALL WE, WHO ARE TRUE KING JAMES HOLY BIBLE BORN-AGAIN CHRISTIAN-CATHOLICS/PROTESTANTS/ETC. VOTE, ELECT &Or CHOOSE +++THE TRUMP OF GOD+++; WHO, MAY VERY WELL BE +++THE LAST TRUMP+++ IN THIS COMING U.S. PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF NOV. 2020 !

Q:WHY DOESN'T TRUMP WEAR GLASSES ?

This is an excellent article which is even more more about the latest happenings of Mr. Jeffress than it is about Donald Trump.

John 18:36-37
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world. Then Pilate said to him, So you are a king? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice. ---ESV

People of all other religions claim their nations for their gods, for their religion. Since the beginning of time, wars have been fought in the name of gods, to please their gods, under the protection of their gods and sacrifices were made to their gods. Today also, people of other religions vote for and appoint leaders of their own religions and ask for laws made according to their own religions. However, Christians now believe the lie of secularism. They are in violation of the first 3 laws of the 10 Commandments. Jesus said to give unto Caesar...and to give unto God... But, Caesar is a man made in the image of God. Therefore, give Caesar unto God. If government is of people made in image of God, give government unto God. Bring all thoughts and all institutions captive to Christ the King.

Sam Adams on S.A. -pdf

Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” That means Congress can neither protect nor restrict the Church’s activities. While no church member is free to commit any common law crime, Congress has no jurisdiction to make any law which applies to the Church ityself. Conversely, as stated in Hale v. Hinkle, corporations cannot exist or function apart from statute law! When a church incorporates, it is then seen in the eyes of the law (by the courts) as a corporation, not a church. As such, incorporated churches are not protected under the First Amendment to the Constitution, but are entities over which the courts and the legislature may take jurisdiction and command to perform according to their orders. That is how the courts can hand down decisions against incorporated churches that seem to violate the First Amendment, when actually the First Amendment does not even apply! Incorporated “churches” have no 1st Amendment rights; they have willingly given up First Amendment protection

I guess he won't mind when the IRS comes calling and says his 501 (c)3 exemption is no longer valid, so any members who give to his church will not be able to declare their donations as tax deductions.
I have noticed that Ralph Ovadal over at Pilgrims Covenant Church used to produce a very interesting, educational and frequently political program called "Heart of the Matter" but has stopped doing it for many months now. If you have not listened to any past editions, I urge you to check them out; they are still available here at S.A.

No we need more Pastors who be willing to proclaim the Gospel outside of the pulpit,in open airing preaching. Or going to abortion clinics to share Biblical truths out of a heart motivated by love. To those who are going about sure pressing the truth, to murder their babies, at the death camps of Planned Parenthood. Or get more involved in supporting evangelist with in their own churches, who do ministries likes, as their other means to proclaim His truths, in one is only cleansed by the blood of Christ alone. As one is only prepared to die, as they have been born again from up above alone, as salvation is the power & glory of Christ alone,in saving & justifying sinners alone amen.

Interesting quote from a fine preaching of His own right.

I believe I never was more acceptable to my Master than when I was standing to teach those hearers in the open fields…I now preach to ten times more people than I would if I had been confined to the churches.” George Whitfield

I don't know about rigged, but misinformation, lies, money, and media exposure, for sure. The Presidency and even the Senate has become about who has the most money to buy their way in, and also, who can be controlled to a degree to fulfill the goals of those elite. Democracy? Sort of.

Well, if a pastor has given preaching the Word, such as Methodist ministers, why not be involved in politics since you aren't going to be involved in Christianity
John MacArthur wrote:
There is certainly no prohibition on believers being directly involved in government as civil servants, as some notable examples in the Old and New Testaments illustrate....The issue again is one of priority. The greatest temporal good we can accomplish through political involvement cannot compare to what the Lord can accomplish through us in the eternal work of His kingdom. Just as God called ancient Israel (Exodus 19:6), He has called the church to be a kingdom of priests, not a kingdom of political activists. The apostle Peter instructs us, "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light" (1 Peter 2:9).

I probably wouldn't much care if a pastor--on his own time--went put up posters for a candidate sent out fliers etc., but this Presidential election it's really a waste of time.
