Two firebrands in the community of evangelical Christians, former Rep. Michele Bachmann and Family Talk radio founder James Dobson, have been included in a special faith advisory panel announced Tuesday by presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.
Trumpâs campaign said the board will provide advisory support on issues important to evangelical Christians and other people of faith.
The board also will lead âa much larger Faith and Cultural Advisory Committeeâ that will be announced later this month, the campaign said.
The campaign said the appointments are an expression of Trumpâs desire to have access to wise counsel, not necessarily an endorsement of Trump by the individual Christian leaders....

Connor, I'm an only old child of an even older mother, but I'll claim you as the brother I never hadđđŒ. I was raised fundamental baptist ( in the way back machine of 1960) before someone snuck in the SBC and transformed us to that "intentionally appealing to all and quit that doctrine talk while your at it" Praise God for independent fundamental baptist churches. I will make note of the college groups you noted and tune in. God bless and have a great Sunday. Till then,

@Kev- I too enjoy listening to the gospel preachers that you named. Have also been listening to Ken Wimer and David Simpson both found here on SA. I love hearing the gospel of sovereign grace, Christ exhalted, and us worms laid low in the dust.
Observer and mourner good afternoon. What do you think about the points I have written below about my understanding from reading Hebrews? I always like talking to other brothers in Christ about scripture. Ms I also enjoy Don Fortner, Frank hall, Bill Parker and Jim Byrd to name a few newer pastors I enjoy. Wonder if you have any suggestions seeing your taste in sovereign grace pastors.
Good morning saints. May you all know the Lord's presence today.
Mourner, nice bit of eisegesis (viz. reading into the text something that ain't there) there to get the nation of Israel into Romans 11. This is very easy to prove, since the entire argument starts at chapter 9 v 6
6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
(This was already stated in Rom 2 28,29 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.)
Tell me, did God change his mind? If so, can you provide the scriptures that tell us this?

Isa 52:13-15 Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high. As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.
Rom 11:28-36 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? Or who hath first given to him, and it shall
On the topic of the covenants. Here is a Bible study notes as they pertain to this subject I did this morning. If you read Hebrew 7-9 this is my thoughts about the passages. I would enjoy any corrections for any mistakes I have made. If people want a Bible study commentary that I did. Heb 7:22 Jesus the better covenant. 7:27 No need for a physical place/temple 8:1-2 Our new temple is in Jesus and he in us, at the right hand of the Father. 8:5 Old covenant was but a picture of Christ. 8:8-9 New covenant will replace old. 8:10 God's people are now Israel. 8:11 His people ( Israel )know him( know Christ) 8:13 makes old covenant void by a new better one. 9:1 First covenant a physical place. 9:11 Christ the more perfect "tent" (place) 9:23 Christ the new tent was cleansed by sacrifice like the "Meeting place of the Lord" ( this was a picture again of Christ and the new covenant to come) 9:24 our new Holy Place is in Jesus and him in us. Hope this makes things clearer for all if I need correction please help me, for I did this to better understand myself this topic.
Thank you Connor, ccm has destroyed church music , so any crumb of a hymn , I go all out. Yes, I so Irish I have four names. I Will give it a try, and while we're at it do you mind enlightening me a a list of musicians or assembles you'd recommend. I'm southern baptist with a smattering church of Christ family members. Music is a dismal state in baptist churches. The idea that choirs and congregational singing surrendered to praise team flaunting and well, you know where that leads , is a distraction,
Observer wrote: Let's add: Romans 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. Col.3.10 put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: 11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. Romans 9:27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved (It was never all Israel, but the spiritual Israel within the physical Israel who were Abraham's seed according to promise) Galatians 3:7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. Galatians 3:9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. As Penned wisely summed it up - Its about GRACE not RACE!
Clear as a bell bro. I enjoyed reading these texts again.
Matt Papa rocks Connor, just listened to the song you recommended, very much a modern hymn and oh how we need hymns from heaven, both from past greats and from lads and lasses on earth walking aboutđđŒ
Connor wrote: Amen John, and we all need spiritual nourishment everyday, both food and drink, our food is the word of God and our drink is prayer which refreshes the soul, we must rely on the righteousness of Christ to be able to live in the world. John have you ever heard of the song, "Come behold the wondrous mystery" it's a good song, since you were mentioning songs the other day, thought I'd let you know about the song. God bless.
I'd not heard of it Connor, but it sure looks a great song, if this is the third verse:
Verse 3 Come behold the wondrous mystery Christ the Lord upon the tree In the stead of ruined sinners Hangs the Lamb in victory See the price of our redemption See the Fatherâs plan unfold Bringing many sons to glory Grace unmeasured, love untold
Amen and Amen
I love the line "Bringing many sons to glory" from Hebrews 2:10
pennelope wrote: Chris, if we read about heaven and think of it as spiritual, is that spiritualizing it? I could just as easily say you are "Carnalizing" the scriptures, reading carnal interpretations, ignoring the greater spiritual reality. Are we not given the Holy Spirit? What makes physical things superior to spiritual realities, except in the mind of Scofield modernist? Is it allegory to read that Jesus is the Manna, that He is my spiritual nourishment? ....
I'm feasting on manna from heaven And that's why I'm happy tonight
Just so folks know, I am not collecting up some flakes off the ground in the morning which came from heaven by God's hand.
Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. (John 6:49-51 KJV)
