President Obama has appointed a transgender man to a prominent faith advisory position, sparking a flood of outrage from conservatives.
His recent announcement named Barbara Satin to be a member of the president‚Äôs Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, a choice commentator Tim Brown at Freedom Outpost scorched as a ‚Äúmentally sick transgender man.‚ÄĚ
‚ÄúAnd America tolerates this depravity!‚ÄĚ Brown wrote. ‚ÄúSatin needs repentance, not an advisory position, but I don‚Äôt blame Barack Obama for that. Instead, I blame the United Church of Christ for its lack of loving discipline towards Barbara. They have allowed this person to wander into sin without any loving restraints to call him to repentance and allow him to stay in good standing in the body of Christ rather than a stern and sharp rebuke of his sin towards the Creator.‚ÄĚ...
Amen to what you said. There is no coming to Christ without drawing, and there is no drawing without quickening and enlightenment and conviction of the Holy Ghost. And there is none of the above without electing. And there is no electing without predestinating. And there is no predestinating without a God who cares, who is willing to be gracious to undeserving sinners. Praise the Lord!

If a man is going to make himself look devilish, he ought to be told instead of patted on the head. He sure looks devilish to me - needs some deliverance ministry, full of devils which he's attracted to himself by his devilish thinking and lifestyle. The gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth. None are so far away that the grace of God cannot reach them, unless of course he has heard the good news of salvation and rejected it out of hand and incurred such displeasure of God that he has given him over to Satan. Thankfully, many on here can testify of the grace of God that Jesus Christ receives all who come to him in true repentance and longing for holiness of life, being set free from the hand of that wicked one, and washed in the blood of The Lamb.
That's what I figure, Mike. Since Mr OBama can get the much coveted award for simply thinking the word "peace", why not disturbed, courageous Bruce? I see clips of him sometimes and he walks around with such pride as if he's beautiful. Without the pros applying his mask, he's actually fairly hideous as a woman.

If the courageous peacemaker president could get a peace prize, maybe Bruce could too.

I love you in Christ sc, blessings. All sin is abhorrent , sorry but how many times must this be stated . No one seems to be condoning sin atm, so just maybe, with love and respect, don't read these articles, it's appears to anger you, that people find this particular sin bad, like all sin. Please you've made your position clear, that won't change, but to continue, I believe my thoughts, well, cool we get it, ok. God bless, I truly mean you no ill will.
translated lasciviousness 6 times (Mar_7:22, 2Co_12:21, Eph_4:19 (2), 1Pe_4:3, Jud_1:4) wantonness 2 times (Rom_13:13, 2Pe_2:18) and flithy once. (2Pe_2:7)
never does it mean immodest (a word not found in Holy Scripture) In fact the word modest (I Timothy 2:9)means orderly.
Barnes "In modest apparel - The word here rendered ‚Äúmodest‚ÄĚ (őļőŅŐĀŌÉőľőĻőŅŌā kosmios), properly relates to ornament, or decoration, and means that which is ‚Äúwell-ordered, decorous, becoming.‚ÄĚ It does not, properly, mean modest in the sense of being opposed to that which is immodest, or which tends to excite improper passions and desires"
If I have ever suggested or hinted that I thought that dressing immodestly was an acceptable practice for those born from above, or that immoral thoughts should be entertained and/or that any should make provision for the flesh to fulfill the lust thereof, I stand corrected and offer my humblest apologies and beg the forgiveness of my brethren.

It doesn't disturb you that our children have all of these vile sexual images pushed on them in this society?
Perhaps you'll put some substance to these accusations and start quoting people here that have no problem with immodesty or children having vile images pushed on them? I assure you that no one here is ok with any of that.
I think we're commenting on a case by case, story by story basis. This one's about transgenderism. When other topics come up, like abortion, drunkeness, the girls of Hooters, or whatever, they get taken to task as well. This particular thread just happens to be about a transgender being appointed to a faith post, of all things, so other sins are side issues for the moment.
s c from Oh writes: No one has checked out lasciviousness?
I'm familiar with lasciviousness in scripture. What I'm not familiar with is this idea that immodesty is more abominable than sodomy or transgenderism. I also think you owe Unprofitable Servant an apology for misrepresnting his view on immodesty.
The point was that we are under judgment because we have been lax concerning sexual sins ourselves. And one may and should make righteous judgment. If I am not lascivious,I may judge on that which is. Dave, you may and do judge sodomy. If you are a sodomite and you yet judge it,then you are a hypocrite. Drunks shouldn't judge potheads because the drinker has a bigger problem which he fails to see because of the beam in his own eye. It's when we don't have a beam in our eye, that we may clearly see to remove the speck from our brothers'.
Dave, you have made judgments on these threads yourself. Do you see the double standard that many have? The transgender who is fully clothed is abominable to most, yet, someone's daughter or wife or mother who runs around essentially naked because it's acceptable in society is fine...certainly not worth fussing over. And certainly not comparable to the cross dresser. Where are you all missing the connection? It doesn't disturb you that our children have all of these vile sexual images pushed on them in this society? These vile images were pushed on them long before sodomites openly made the scene. Maybe there will be outrage when the sodomites dress like many women already do.
