Evangelicals Least Engaged With Presidential Election

Evangelicals are the least engaged with the presidential election compared to other major faith groups, even though they acknowledge the importance of the race, according to a new survey.

A national survey by Barna Group says that while less than one-third of registered voters are following the news about the election "very closely," only one out of five, or 20 percent, of evangelicals are doing so.

On the contrary, voters who associate with non-Christian faiths, including Judaism, Islam and Buddhism, reported the highest level of engagement, as 41 percent of them said they were following campaign news very closely, which is twice the proportion among evangelical Christians, notes the survey, in which 869 registered voters participated between Jan. 28 and Feb. 4. ...

Sign seekers often fail to make a difference between the profane and the holy. Wasn't there were presidents with the name Adam?
The name Adam was in the bible also. So how does this fulfill prophecy.

What about Grant?

Now cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils ...!!!!

This is total nonsense!!

Jim Lincoln,
Voting or running for political office doesn't mean you have to use churches for "political propaganda". You are quoting hack jobs rather than the Bible! If I were you, I would read Scripture more often, and not take it out of context!

CORRECTION to an earlier comment.

Pastor John wrote: "Maybe evangelicals can't stomach it?"

I added 'All that is is the world is of the wicked one. ALL - the lust of the eyes, the flesh, and the pride of life; what we see, want, and boast in is of the world.'

I meant to say All that is in the world is of the wicked one. ALL - the lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, and the pride of life; all that we want to have (crave for), all that we want to do (with no restraint), and all that we want to be (prominence), is of the world.

Have you thought it might be the epitome of pride for a man to think he can run a country?

Those of us who are not evangelical can't stand it because it is of this world.

All that is is the world is of the wicked one. ALL - the lust of the eyes, the flesh, and the pride of life; what we see, want, and boast in is of the world.

This whole political thing is filled with information about what others deem as good or evil. This forbidden tree has rotten tea leaves that fall into the hands of those who read these leaves instead of God's word; fig leaves that really prevent fallen man from seeing us as we really are. But nothing is hidden from the eyes of Whom we have to do. Voters dig their own cisterns, if you will. But they are filled with judgment.
The political system is filled with bad, evil fruit. Bad, bad, bad...

But hear ye this - ... the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law (Gal 5:22,23).
The fruit of the Spirit [is] in all goodness and righteousness and truth; (Eph 5:9).

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is everything man needs.

Jim Lincoln,
Jesus was clearly teaching in that verse that some rulers lord their position over people, and that Christians should not lord their position over people, but rather serve other people. That's why, if you'll notice, Jesus said "whoever will be great among you must be your servant". He would not say "great" if he was saying Christians can't be involved in politics. Only you could twist a verse so badly!

JDiM.

I agree, you used the Old Testament and that's why I think pious conservative Jews, or in a pinch conservative Free Masons should be the political leaders

Of course, Christians shouldn't be in politics.

Mark 10:heard it, they began to be indignant at James and John. 42 And Jesus called them to him and said to them, “You know that those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 43 But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”---ESV

the system collapses when the people are immoral and uninvolved. satan got the church with pietism (had to become prevailing wind for surviviability of 501c3 corporations). they just went to sleep and let the rest of the world deal with corruption and catastrophe.

as opposed to the donatists of old, the John the Baptists and Essenes, the reformers that dealt head long with the empire of the RCC and its perversions of the scriptures to force indulgances. today its carbon credits, IMF, and eugenics through abortion, vaccines and gm foods, besides chemicals in the water literally dumbing down the population.

the reformers were men who were positioned in a system as a religious figure, who then got their hands on the Word of God and realized that the indulgences (taxes based on paying for one's soul) was an abomination. They were often aligned with kings who were nationalists as opposed to forcing this "religious empire" onto the people.

so where are the men of God today who see the indulgances of the day? who see the open borders as part of agenda 21, one world religion plan to blend societies? and this supported by both parties.... if the path to their physical and spiritual destruction were laid before them, would they even recognize it?

As was pointed out to me,Prov 29:2 When the righteous are in authority the people rejoice; but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. We (believers) are the righteous. We need to be in politics.

Politics are low on the agenda of Christians who have their priorities straight, considering what's running.
