Mother Teresa to be declared a saint September 4

Mother Teresa, a nun who dedicated her life to helping the poor in India, will be canonized as a saint September 4, Pope Francis announced Tuesday.

The date falls on the eve of the anniversary of her death, which occurred on September 5, 1997.

In December, Pope Francis announced that Mother Teresa would be declared a saint after recognizing a second miracle attributed to her: the healing of a Brazilian man with multiple brain tumors after loved ones prayed to her, the Italian Catholic bishops' association's official newspaper Avvenire reported. That miracle occurred after her death. ...

Well it maybe hard for you to believe that one can become saved on their deathbed but that is certainly a possibility that Mother Teresa had placed her faith in Jesus on her deathbed.

Thanks Todd. Ian Brown is one of my favorites for his preaching/teaching on Roman Catholic topics. Will give this one a listen.

J Y,if she did before she died then she was a saint then.
Based on what she had spoken, she never had done just that.
It is very unloving of you to stay ignorant and/or keep silent in regards to true salvation to the many RCs which you say that you are around weekly.
It is possible that Mother Teresa on her deathbed had placed her faith in Jesus alone. Only Jesus knows that for certain. I do share with other Catholics the way to become saved via written communication on forums. It is not necessary to do it via verbal communication.

Dave, I never stated for certain that Mother Teresa was saved. I stated it is a possibility that she had placed her faith in Jesus on her deathbed. I also stated that Jesus is the only one who knows that for certain, which is true.

StuckonStupid, The statement is true that Jesus is the only one who knows for certain if Mother Teresa had placed her faith in Jesus on her deathbed. Nobody but Jesus has that ability to know that.

I don't believe it arrogance John y, more an educated decision, but yes it could be seen as arrogant I suppose.
But honestly mate, works don't save , I think we agree on that much?
But we'll know them by their works, so her works were wonderful to us, but hr works were in vain, she actively prayed to Mary, believed in purgatory, believed in transubstantiation , she believed the pope to be the vicar of Christ?
Maybe I'm wrong but the fruits were rotten at the core, if she didn't remove herself from the presence of false worship, adhered to RC doctrine then I would suggest she wasn't saved.
Lord bless,

The odds are fantastically slim after devoting a lifetime to a Pope, a false religious system, and Mary.
Let's hope so, but those odds are slim.
Boy, I shudder when trying to imagine crossing over and finding out how wrong I was and knowing that I can't ever return.

If she had placed her faith in Jesus Christ alone, she could have been made a real saint instantly.
Let's keep praying for the lost RCs and the Protestants who are affiliated with them.
-just heard Sam Morris do a must-hear sermon on SA entitled "the beginning of protestantism.

Praying to or worshipping any one outside of the eternal Godhead of the Father, & the Son, is just plain wrong & a reflection of ones twisted reasoning, through their very misguided theology. May the Lord grant to others saving repentance to those who are blinded by the false hope of what Rome teaches in another gospel message amen.

Rev 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

All true Christians are called saints in the new testament. Pope's try to establish their own hall of fame by their fake criteria....e.g. performing a real miracle is required. What rubbish while they teach and practice the idolatrous mass and many superstitious rituals.

“She may or may not comfort the afflicted, but she has never been known to afflict the comfortable,” Hitchens explained.
