Mississippi parents to be graded by teachers

Mississippi lawmakers have moved forward a bill that would require teachers to issue report cards to parents, rating them on such matters as involvement with their children’s education.

House Bill 4, the Parent Involvement and Accountability Act, was sponsored by Democrat state Rep. Gregory Holloway, Watchdog.org first reported. Specifically, his hope is to add a section on students’ report cards where teachers can give out grades to the parents and rate how well they did at helping their children finish homework, prepare for exams and get to school on time, Fox News reported ...

Good point, Nolan. Many parents, quite frankly, shouldn't be parents. They have child after child, and never seem to care to learn, or are incapable. These kids end up being groomed and molded to pass on the detachment, abuse, lack of love, or whatever, to their children, continuing the cycle. There are many parents who do need to be made accountable and schooled themselves, but a childs teacher isn't the one to be policing a parent and shouldn't be given that power over them. I think the limitations of a teacher should be to simply pass along what they see and hear to those who are in the paid positions to look further into it. We're giving more and more power to people who shouldn't have it, and once they do, the police state continues to steamroll over a country until the parent and citizen is ruled over with an iron fist, having no more rights or say on anything.

In Mississippi- they need to change a LOT-so says-Brother of murdered civil rights leader Medgar Evers says he's backing Donald Trump-

Charles Evers, the brother of slain civil rights leader Medgar Evers and an activist in his own right, has endorsed Donald Trump for president.
Evers, 93, says he stands behind the Republican frontrunner because he's a "businessman" and "jobs are badly needed in Mississippi," The Clarion-Ledger reports. Evers said if he ever meets Trump, he'll ask him to bring a catfish processing plant to the state, claiming that "our catfish is shipped to China and brought back for us to buy." He also said he hasn't seen "any proof" of Trump being a racist, adding, "all of us have some racism in us. Even me."

Medgar Evers was assassinated in 1963 in front of his home in Jackson, Mississippi. After his brother's death, Charles Evers became the field secretary of the NAACP in Mississippi, and in 1969, after being elected the mayor of Fayette, became the first black mayor of a town or city in the state since Reconstruction. On Friday, the Mississippi Donald Trump Committee announced Evers has been made a member of Trump's state campaign team.

For some parents school is nothing more than a free child sitting service. Tie that kids performance in school to the checks their getting and you'll see these parents come alive. Drug test the parents too.

Aside from the fact that this is letting the underling rule over the boss (Prov 30:21-23), has anyone asked what the enforcement of this law is? Even in the bill itself, it lies open ended. Can they send the perpetually flunking parent to counseling? Can they require the parent to come to the school after work to sit with their child in detention? Can the child be removed from the family for a time until the parent "gets their act together"? Wow, if I had my kids in school in Miss, I'd be shakin' in my boots about now.

This reminds me of flying the friendly skys. Remember when stewardess were over the top pleasant and there for your every need with a smile? Ever since airline security was tightened up and stewardesses were made the watchdogs of the air, being imposed with the authority of a passangers right to fly, pre, and mid flight, many are not all that friendly anymore and passangers need to keep even their frustration under control for fear of being ejected. Because of the no nonscense, we control you, don't mess with us, new TSA security measures, a stewardess can be far less pleasant, and can now have the attitude which a passanger has to accept or risk being escorted off the plane, etc. The stewardess is the in flight eyes of the TSA, and having been given the authority to have any passanger removed for pretty much anything, adults are on their best behavior as they say, "Yes sir", "Yes ma'am", and are forced to ignore a bad attitude as they walk on eggshells with flight attendants having been given a new power over them. This just reminded me of how these teachers have been given a new power over the parents and the parents having to be on their best behavior.

Homeschooling is the only way to go. But it will be entertaining to watch the government money addicted parents show up to protest. Be wearing their best tattoos, hairdos and jewelry to chant and sing about how much gall it take to require the very least amount of responsibility and duty. Be all up in someone's face girl. So sad but true. What a broken world.

SOS, I agree. The nerve of that politician. But, parents put their children in the state run schools. State run schools is one of the many scourges of our society. Unyol folks realize how bad they really are this kind of arrogant overreach will continue and get worse.
