Media mogul Oprah Winfrey recently sparked an online discussion about the Christian doctrine of the Holy Trinity after recalling a time that she once considered Jesus Christ to be her brother.
In a Facebook video post that immediately went viral on Monday â garnering more than 1 million views and over 2,000 comments in less than 24 hours â the OWN network CEO opened up about her Christian faith to her 10 million followers. Winfrey is seen speaking candidly about how growing up without her father led her to faith when she was between the ages of 3 to 7 years old.
"For the earliest part of my life, I didn't know my father," Winfrey, who was raised by her maternal grandmother up until age 6, said in the 35-second clip. "Not growing up with a father, I heard in church that God was my Father and that God was the Father of us all and that Jesus was God's son."
I agree Mary, shes jumping on the bandwagon, just like P.Barr states, she loves Eckhart Tolle, anyone who cares to can go to youtube and search Oprah denies Jesus and Oprah says being gay is a gift from God ...
"A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle, which she helped to make a best-seller by promoting it on Oprah's Book Club and on her website."
"Eckhart Tolle, a well-known New Age author and speaker, promotes nothing short of personal divinity in his teachings. In an attempt to deceive people into thinking that his religion is compatible with Christianity, Tolle occasionally quotes from the Bible and refers to biblical principles. The problem is that Eckhart Tolle's book, A New Earth, is in complete opposition to biblical Christianity from cover to cover. Nearly every reference to, or quote of, Scripture is twisted by Tolle's consistent misinterpretation and misunderstanding.
Consider what can be found in just the pages of the first chapter: evolution of life over millions of years is accepted, assumed, and understood to be fact; Jesus is misquoted; flowers, crystals, precious stones, and birds are believed to be temporary manifestations of the Universal Consciousness and are themselves considered enlightened life forms; the definition of sin is misinterpreted ..." http://www.gotquestions.org/new-earth-Eckhart-Tolle-Oprah.html
i hope she is sincerely seeking Jesus, the real JESUS, but I tend to be a bit more skeptical and think Oprah is a smart cookie. She knows the brand power of claiming to be a christian these days. Just look at the War room movie. A bit of 'christian' kitsch brings in big bucks.ni highly doubt Oprah is ignorant of the fact if she can garner the professing christian market (usually filled with willfilly and sometimes ignorantly decieved sheeple) that she will be cornering a lucrative market. Shrewd business move or sincerity? God will be the judge.
Having a history of abuse and poverty often times manifests itself into life long struggle with mental illness. I suspicion she may suffer from manic depression ( delusions of gradure, followed by moments of depression). But , with her constant misinterpretation of everything Christian should tell you of the suffering brought about by a demonic influence.
At the age of thirteen Oprah ran away from home, this was due to her years of abuse and at the age of fourteen she became pregnant with an ill son who died shortly after birth. Oprah took the death of her son as she was given a second chance in life.
The above is from an online biography.
I feel sorry for this woman because her journey on this earth is a dismal failure. She never married so she never had a husband to love, protect and provide for her. She had the child noted in the above paragraph, but no children after this one. The mere fact that she said the death of this little baby gave her a second chance at life pretty much sums up her beliefs about what it means to be a woman in this evil world. She of course is now too old to bear children and my guess is no one will ever marry her that will love her for herself and not her wealth.
Heb.2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 2:11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, 2:12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
1 JN.5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
